only worth it if its on sale, so much shorter than other games and the story was lacking so much compared to the original two games, don't really get to connect with a character properly. bonus points for kissing women though.

This is certainly a nice addition to the series! I'm pleasantly surprised that, unlike the previous parts, True Colors has an actual good ending. Meaning even despite being bittersweet it doesn't leave you depressed and questioning your life choices for the next 2 weeks. It was fun to play, fixing everyone's problems and being kind feels nice, and introducing mini games and a real-life RPG is an amazing idea. However! Those mini games were way too simple and frankly not fun enough to engage in, as if the creators were terrified of letting people fail. Inability to fail is quite a big thing in this game. Maybe it's for the sake of finally creating a heartfelt story without strong negative feelings, but the choices along the way felt way too risk-free and don't influence the plot much. I am personally motivated to replay a game if I didn't get a desired outcome, which could save this one considering it only takes around 7 hours to beat it. The playtime is quite big disappointment. Just from the price of True Colors and the standards of the previous games I expected twice as long... This kind of felt like an unfinished thing, I was dying to go out and talk to some characters after Chapter 5 was finished. Nevertheless, I got hooked immediately and enjoyed the game a lot, so I 100% recommend.

I'm finally writing a review after playing this through twice and getting 100% in the game. I did like this, I think the mystery plot was engaging and I grew to love the characters I met. Life is Strange is a series about trauma and it was interesting playing a game where the trauma is more life long/complex trauma rather than one major traumatic event -- both are important narratives to be told. I feel I've got my money's worth out of this game and I do recommend it especially if you like Life is Strange, but I'd recommend getting it on sale because as much as I love this game, $60 is a little steep. I don't think any LIS game so far holds up to the original game's level, but I did enjoy this game a lot.

Life is Strange: True Colors was an incredibly impactful experience, largely thanks to Alex Chen's unique ability. Seeing and feeling the emotions of others gave a massive emotional weight to this game, pulling me right into the heart of Haven Springs. Her ability to not just see, but also to manipulate those emotions, was a huge and powerful change to the gameplay. It often led to genuinely massive decisions for me – moments where I had to grapple with whether I should or shouldn't interfere, and those choices were incredibly tough to make. Every single choice I made carried significant weight, and the direction of the story continually kept me begging for more. The narrative unfolded in such a captivating way that I was constantly invested in seeing what would happen next, and how my decisions would shape the lives of those around me. Life is Strange: True Colors stands out for its brilliant emotional mechanics and tough, impactful choices, making it another deeply moving and unforgettable chapter in the series for me.

I LOVED this game. Not as good as the OG life is strange games but still so fun

really enjoyable if you want to slowly meander through a game rather than solve it. Lots of nice touches, including in game games. Quite touching in parts and the scenery is lovely

Stepping into Haven Springs with Alex Chen in Life is Strange: True Colors was an absolute delight, and for me, it truly felt like a return to the series' roots in the best possible way. As someone who deeply cherishes the original Life is Strange and its impact on my own journey of self-discovery, True Colors resonated deeply with its authentic portrayal of human connection and emotional depth. From the moment I arrived, I was completely enveloped by the game's wonderfully chill, indie vibes. Haven Springs itself is a character – a picturesque, almost idyllic town that perfectly complements the game's focus on intimate relationships and community. The soundtrack, as always with Life is Strange, was a masterclass in setting the mood, perfectly blending with the serene yet often poignant atmosphere. Alex's empathic power, the ability to see and experience others' strong emotions as colorful auras, was incredibly interesting and felt like a fresh, meaningful evolution of the series' supernatural elements. It wasn't just a gimmick; it was central to understanding the town's inhabitants and unraveling the central mystery, making every interaction feel significant and layered. This power allowed for a profound level of empathy, drawing me even closer to the characters and their struggles. And speaking of characters, the connection with Steph Gingrich was, for me, a standout. As a lesbian, seeing such a genuine, sweet, and beautifully developed queer relationship option felt incredibly validating and heartwarming. Steph is just fantastic – her wit, her warmth, and the natural progression of her bond with Alex made every moment with her truly special. It's the kind of representation that enriches the narrative and makes the game feel even more personal and inclusive. Life is Strange: True Colors is a beautiful, heartfelt experience that excels in its character development, its unique power mechanics, and its wonderfully cozy yet emotionally charged atmosphere. It's a journey of empathy, healing, and finding your place, and it left me with a warm, fuzzy feeling and a renewed appreciation for the series.
