Fantastic game for Star Wars fans and RTS fans alike. If you happen to be both of those things, then you're sure to be in for a treat. The vanilla game itself is good, however once you go modded, you can never go back. There are few games that have such expansive mods, and fewer still that are continuously updated to this day. Almost 20 years old, and yet new mods seem to come out weekly, and old mods continue to get massive updates. Whether you are a fan of the Clone Wars, Old Republic era, Galactic Civil War, or even the legends post-Endor period, there is something for everyone. You can pick up the game on sale for less than 10 bucks. which is honestly a steal. I truly hope that we one day get an Empire at War II, or at least more Star Wars RTS games, but even if we don't, I know that this amazing community will continue to add more free content for us all to enjoy for years to come.

This game takes me back to the 00's era Star Wars, which truly was the golden era of the fandom. A great, fun game that gives you command of iconic Star Wars ships and vehicles.

It's thanks to the incredible modding community of this game that I gained such a passion for star wars as a whole. The mods pack so much content from legends and from comics while also being a blast to play! It's a must have game for any star wars fan and holds up to this day with the awakening of the rebellion, thrawn's revenge and fall of the republic mods.

This game is magnificent on its own but with mods it is an even better game. When I loose I can just say the AI cheated. When I win I consider myself to be intellectually superior to Grand Admiral Thrawn.

The base game is great, good story, fun mechanics, a great star wars RTS. Where the fun lies tho is the mods, the modding community is amazing and you can find every era of star wars, different campaigns and mods that rework the whole game to fit into other sci-fi franchises. If you love star wars; sci-fi or RTS games this is a must have

it is really fun and if you like rts games this one is for you espacially with the ffall of the republic mod it is super fun

I've been playing this game for many years all the way back to original release and still enjoy it. I still have the original CD's, but no longer need them since I can download and play through Steam. Also I can still play my favorite mods and have edited one to add some of my own 3d models to the game. My only complaint at this point is the latest update which has caused build pads on land to no longer work with mods.

This game was made in 2006. It is still to this day the best Star Wars space combat simulator. The game might have some jank due to its old age, but the experience is worth that jank. Mods make the game even better

Is one of the best games of its time and genre. The AI enemy is stout and employs various tactics and strategies to thwart you. The mechanics are smooth and easy, making the gaming experience very enjoyable.

Ive been playing this game on and off for the past 15 years and have to say not many games hold such a special place. The mod community bring so much flavour and fun to this that it truly is a new adventure each play through.....also the power trips are great fun :) 100000% recommend.

I have been playing this game for YEARS... I walk away for a brief while and then always come back. Mods really have breathed more life into this. The Star Wars game I needed!

It's a very sad day when one must go back to a game from 2006, A game that released when I was four years told, to really enjoy a genuinely fun star wars RTS. The controls are a little janky on PC but that's to be expected with its age. Mods provide a solid life support line to this wonderful format of a game. I'd kill someone with a wooden hammer to get a modern version of this game in a Star wars, Halo, or Warhammer version.

10/10 game and the mods make it an 12/10. the perfect Star wars RTS . When you're on the Galactic Conquest it feels like Risk and every battle is like a mini Star craft match, except you get to battle on land and in space. no other game can quite capture these unique elements that truly set it aside from other RTS.

Its pretty cool, exxcept that it randomly crashes so you are forced to save constantly or risk losing your progress

Only good because of the mods but still good none the less. The base game is well designed if not poorly optimized for what counts.

Exceedingly enjoyable strategy game that is brimming with content (especially with the Age of Rebellion mod). The battles themselves aren't overly exciting, but the faction management is surprisingly fun. Finally, it has a great soundtrack with all of the iconic symphonies from the franchise. Go buy this game! 3/5

Grew up with an ancient pirate copy of this solid gold game. By far my favorite space battle game, amplified by the *stellar* modding community that's been keeping the old girl alive.

old game but absolute gold with mods, recommended for those who enjoy obviously enjoy RTS similar to total war but just in star wars format lol. Ship to Ship combat is quite fun rather ground combat, but nevertheless its fun. A bunch of videos on youtube for guides from ship v ship tactics to economic tips & best way to keep those credits flowin. long live the, republic/empire/rebellion/ryloth and all that good stuff.

15 Years later and this game is still a masterpiece, honestly a modernized remake with more factions would be nice but with steam workshop i guess its close enough lol.

Mods make it a brand new game all these years later. Fall of the Republic, Awakening of the Rebellion, Thrawn's Revenge, Revan's Revenge. All different time periods for fans of the Old Republic, Clone Wars, and post-Battle of Endor EU(Legends)

The game is very good it holds up to this day and with mods its the best RTS game i have played in my live.

A classic must-have. Needs a remaster for today! Also a lot of great modders keeping this game alive. Works just fine, it is not a buggy mess. May need to work out a few kinks depending on your system, but my wife and I did not need to even on 2 different laptops. So, go for it now or get it on sale when it goes on sale randomly or during season sales.

I've been playing this game since it first released in 2005 and thanks to the continued mod support it has so many styles to choose from that it's hard to get bored with this game.

One of the best RTSs I've ever played. When they added mod support years ago, it was like playing it for the first time all over again. I highly recommend it.

Mods are essential to expanding the gameplay - the base game is incredible but mods are highly suggested; Thrawn's Revenge, Fall of the Republic, and general rework mods are amazing.

This game is so good you can destroy the rebels as the empire , or reclaim the galaxy as the rebelion. Just like i want.

This is one of the best star wars games i have ever played. It not only is great for its base game, but also for the massive steam workshop modding community, and overall this is a great game.

This game was one of the crown jewels of the old Lucasarts period of Star Wars games. Legitimately one of the best RTS games I've played. Then you add in the extra bonus of all the mods, you'll have a game you'll come back to over and over again, take my word for it...I've got 500 plus hours invested in it.

Rather interesting at first but soon you start realising that building two of the final-tier ships guarantees you a victory so you are not into it as much. Also, the pure chaos of the battles makes moving units around extremely annoying. A game for an hour, maybe two.

Not just a classic Star Wars game, but a classic strategy game overall. Definitely worth the purchase not just for the base content but with the Workshop community keeping the game stronger than ever. Cannot recommend more!
