I would like to start this review by saying it's not a bad game by any means, but I honestly don't see why some people are so crazy about it
The combat isn't bad, but the lack of i-frames and the ease to be stunlocked by enemies or bosses is rather frustrating, some people might call it a skill issue which is an argument I can understand, but I still find the lack of proper wind ups and the tight space in some rooms to be a problem
That is especially annoying because bosses can stunlock you but you can't do the same during their stun window, you'll spam so many abilities to damage them to benefit of the opening that there'll be so many effects on top of one another you won't be able to see if they already recovered or if they were stunned at all
As for the abilties, they're quite fun, some more unique than others, but that just opens more variety so you can try out and see which ones you like best, still, I wish there would be more depth to the abilities so they weren't just how many different ways you can do damage, like an elemental reactions system
I've been 5 hours into this game, and I feel like I've already seen most of what it has to offer (as relics on their own don't seem to change much), which as someone who enjoys roguelikes don't feel like it incentivizes me enough to unlock more and keep on playing for longer, I wish you'd have unlock requirements for different things rather than buying everything with gems.
That might be the case for a couple things, but as it's been presented, most what you get is gonna be unlocked by either buying it from the main hub, or acquiring it temporarily via a vendor while in a run
Again, not a bad game by any means, but it left me wanting more, which at the same time might be more than enough for someone else's needs
