One of the greatest RPGs of all time in game play and writing. Get the restoration mod to make the game less buggy and more complete overall, absolutely worth it.

For those who are into philosophy and star wars, that game would be suitable. Plus, doesn't require a good pc to play that game. Overall, i really like this game. I wish people loved this game as much as i do.

One of the greatest Star Wars games. In my opinion, even better than KOTOR 1. The narrative, characters, dialogue, and planets (except the final one) are all excellent. My only wish was that Obsidian was given more time to develop it. This game is Star Wars at its absolute best.

Probablemente, el mejor juego de basado en el universo de Star Wars (y mi juego favorito). No soy objetivo, lo admito. Llevo jugando a este juego veinte años, desde su lanzamiento. Y siempre me atrapa, siempre me vuelve a fascinar.

One of the best-written games of all time. A perfect sequel as long as you use the restored content mod and some bug fixes like the community patch. Has multiple of the most interesting characters in gaming and a very well put-together story

Very great game! While it's OK with just the vanilla version, the sith lords restored content mod makes it 10X better. Better loot, and a more complete story. Definately would recommend.

Kotor 2 is my personal favorite star wars game or if not, the best star wars game out there. The game is a prime example on how to do an anti-star wars story (im lookin at you Ryan Johnson). Taking a new perspective on the force itself and critique on both the sith and the jedi. Kreia is such an interesting character out of star wars franchise and notably, her gripes with the will of the force. Im not gonna explain further about the plot and the philosophy of Kotor 2 However, the game mechanically is quite buggy and unfinished therefore i recommend tinker and mod the game before playing the game to get much better experience and understanding of Kotor 2

One of the best RPG games ever made! though... i recommend going to the steam workshop and picking up the tslr mod (and maybe a few others, there is alot of mods to choose from)... tslr restores a massive amount of cut content, a must have.

Without a doubt one of the greatest games of all time (provided you play with The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod, TSLRCM). A breathtaking story with a twist that you feel coming all along, but still surprises you. Combat is old and not the most cinematic, but better than KOTOR 1 and challenging in right conditions. Rounds out story of Revan brilliantly, and keeps you involved with the influence system. Cannot recommend it enough!

Still one of the greatest games I've ever played. Ignore the time played stat, I've played this game 3 times on the original Xbox and 3 times on mobile, So I've had 9-11 playthroughs at this point. After all this time, I still encounter new dialogue! The music is fantastic, the storyline is awesome and the dialogue is intriguing. Definitely a must-play If you get tired of the game, try out the mods like TSLRM, that restore cut content! (These mods will also remove some of the more fun exploits, like infinite handmaiden outfits, so make sure you take advantage of those first).

Good game but BAD bugs, needs major patching incompatible with modern hardware. It freezes you after combat so you cant move making the game almost unplayable. OTHERWISE it would be an amazing game IF working as intended. Just know that you're signing up for a buggy mess that needs a major patch update for bug fixes in the modern day.

An improvement to original in many ways, more items, more powers more feats more levels and more mechanics. Add to that some QoL improvements and a new original story and you have a base for a great game.

Good for a nostalgia trip. Back in the 00's This was my favorite game. Today it's easy to see why we don't build RPGs like this anymore. The combat systems are super dated. This is a secret cRPG, if you like those give it a shot.

While this is an amazing RPG it's a bit outdated now and there are some issues with bugs that can break your game so if you decide to play it make sure you're saving often. Lots of nostalgia goggles for this one so beware the current review scores.

This game is a classic for us all, but this modified version is rife with immutable bugs, chief among them is your main character becomes unresponsive, forcing you to control a support character until a scene clears the issue or save and reload.

More of the same as the first game, but this time trying to dilute the black and white morality of the first game more into the grey territory. The tactical gameplay is simplistic yet satisfying enough to keep going. The biggest con of this game is the forced character switching, forcing you to adapt into their playstyle out of the bat. Nar Shaddaa to me was a drag because it kept mixing it up too much. The other gripe was the amount of upgrade materials required and the pittance offered in containers, almost forcing me to hoard cheap items by spam clicking and then spam clicking to break them into parts for the upgrade pieces. The quality of the areas vary greatly and the Peragus station is really nothing special until you're almost done there. I think the game was good albeit underwhelming compared to its reputation online, yet much better than any of the movies. Some of the dialogue is really funny and playing a dark side character seems temptingly fun.

As much as it takes a mod to experience the full story, this is still my favorite piece of Star Wars media, and the equipment customization was really great. It has QoL improvements from 1.

Originally owned as an Xbox game, I bought it out of a sale bin in 2008. I didn't play it for several months, since I also bought Battlefront II at the same store/same day. I now play it on Steam and my Switch; I love this game. Each new play I keep learning more, and the experience always changes for the better. Absolutely recommend this gem.

Still might be one of my favorite stories told in the Star Wars universe. KOTOR 1 puts up some fierce competition — and you should definitely play it first to get the full experience — but KOTOR 2 is a hell of a journey with plenty of mystery, as well as emotional introspection on both trauma and healing. Shockingly meaningful stuff.

Played first playthrough WITHOUT the Restored Content Mod. This is easily one of the greatest RPGs ever made and one of the best Star Wars stories ever written. You are seriously doing yourself a disservice if you call yourself a Star Wars fan and/or a gaming fan and you haven't played this game. It holds up remarkably well, the characters are all richly layered and complex and standing on the stage of the most unique and interesting Star Wars story out there that will have you questioning the very nature of the Force. Obsidian does an absolutely fantastic job of picking up the KotOR storyline where Bioware left off, and their additions to the lore of this world are incredible and every planet is just as engaging and interesting here as the ones from KotOR 1. My only disappointment is that SWtOR basically pretends this game doesn't exist, which at times makes a lot of the climactic moments in this game feel unimportant. As well as this, Canderous' character feels regressive in this game, as he abandons the Mandalorian lifestyle in KotOR 1, making his return as Mandalore the Preserver feel like a cop-out, and out of character. TL;DR This game is better than KotOR 1 but makes it retroactively better and offers everything a sequel could ask for and more, can't wait to replay with the Restored Content Mod.

This might be my favorite piece of star wars media. Its slow, moody, and introspective, and tells a story not of a galaxy at war, but about the galaxy's relationship with war itself. The game is unfortunately not entirely finished, I think the content restored mod is pretty close to essential to get the full experience, but it's conveniently available on the game's steam workshop for those interested. Can't recommend enough.

Similar to the first game, there is a persistent bug where the main character cannot move after combat encounters. You have to save and reload after almost every fight and it's annoying as hell.

A good game, it allows you to fully immerse yourself fully in the star wars universe. The deep and intricate lore, complex characters, world-building are excellent, as expected from an Oblivion game. I'm always amazed at how I start the game feeling completely neutral and uninvested, and by the end I'm googling all these guides to finish quests. For the planets: Telos: I enjoyed the conflict set up between Czerka and the Ithorians. The city itself really gave off a depressing mood which I think was by design since Peragus had just been destroyed. Also its nice to meet the Handmaidens here. A- planet Dantooine was a really cool contrast from KOTOR1 in that you could see how messed up the enclave was after the war. A really nice way of indirectly telling the player something had gone horribly wrong with the Jedi. Was a bit grindy to get through tho. I'd say a B+ planet Onderon was a cool city. The conflict between the queen and Valku felt a bit forced down our throats, but it was pretty interesting since it felt like there wasn't really a right answer. I also really liked the sidequest with finding the murderer of Sullio and the whole fiasco with figuring out who to give the Starport Visas to. A- Nar Shaadaa: I love the underworld-city feel and it really reminded me of Taris' Lower City from KOTOR1. Yet somehow it managed to feel unique. Beating this planet felt like untangling a really big knot, with all the interdependent quests, and was really satisfying to complete. Also I loved the whole "bounty hunters are after you" plot that was sprung on you the instant you landed, it made it feel like you were never really safe. I give this planet an A Dxun: The Mandalorians look badass and I always wanted to meet them. I thought we would only ever get to fight them since we fought against them in the war, so I was pleasantly surprised when instead I got to explore their camp and even get a companion out of it. I give this planet an A as well. I will also say, I love how they kept Korriban and Dantooine more or less the same, it was really cool to see the contrast between the first and second games for these worlds that are in both. Cons: I think the graphics in KOTOR 2 are not as good as in KOTOR1 I think the story in KOTOR2 is "better" in the sense that its less generic, although honestly I prefer KOTOR 1's since its more straightforward and enjoyable to play through. But if you like ultra complex stories then this game would probably appeal to you more over KOTOR1. Another critique I had is that the beginning was a slog, which made me almost want to drop the game. I understand why it was so long, since it's important exposition for the story, but I really wanted to get off that damn facility by the end. I was so happy when I could finally fly to Telos. The ending is also terrible in my opinion.. the part before entering Trayus academy just felt super low quality since it was just a maze filled with the same enemy in every other turn.. and once you entered the academy there was way too many sith to fight.. it was literally just 1. open door 2. fight 5 sith repeat 20 times.. but I heard the game was rushed which is why the ending is the way it is.. that's a pity. Overall solid game but I prefer KOTOR1 for the cons mentioned above, which KOTOR1 doesn't really struggle as much with.

One of my most beloved games, logged many hours into it on my disc copy before I bought my steam version. Significant improvements in terms of gameplay from the first game, and with games like BG3 popping off I think old school tabletop-style turnbased games are well and truly back in fashion. The game does suffer from it's issues and bugs, but this can be offset by modding both from steam workshop and third-party mod sites, which also offer alot in terms of gameplay tweaks and visual upgrades. Has it's share of hardware issues but nothing I haven't been able to troubleshoot. Chiefly has some of the best written characters and story you can find in both in a Star Wars game and in RPGs in general. Pacing can be a little off-putting at times but I urge players to stick with it, each section has it's own fun little nuisances and quirks that I've found myself falling in love with over successive playthroughs. I have little minors grips here and there with some companions not feeling as fleshed out as others and plotlines not fully finished but this can mostly be explained away by the time limitations put on Obsidian in development. With the restored content mod you get alot of stuff back that was sent to the cutting room floor, but I'd recommend playing through the games without it first. Overall a stellar game, and a must play for Star Wars game enthusiasts.

This is a diamond that is just too rough for me. It's gameplay is good enough, the characters, for the most part, are great, and the story is interesting. So why is this a negative review? For one thing it's because of how much of a pain it is to get the thing running respectably on Win10. The game doesn't run in 1920x1080 or 1366x768 without mods. Even when it does it manages to crash more often than not. So far as I know the only way to fix both of these issues is with the restored content mod. This wouldn't be so bad except sometimes the game just won't accept them. I don't know how to describe it other than it is about as finicky and temperamental as little kids are with food they do and don't like. But to be fair this is an old game so I can excuse *some* of these issues. Obviously this game doesn't get updated anymore. But even with that aside this game has two majors flaws that can't be fixed until either a remaster, or remake, is made. Those two issues are how ugly the game is and how AWFUL the first 8-10 hours are. The mining station goes on for way too long, and Telos somehow manages to be even more boring and awful. The fact that most of the areas in the earlygame are just so hideous makes this game only digestible in short bursts. Thinking of doing Telos Station again makes my skin crawl. This is a great game locked behind two walls. Time, and poorly aging design. It's unlikely I'll ever finish a playthrough of this game because of how persistent these issues are, though I do want to. The best I can hope for this game is a visual remaster ,that also implements and polishes the stuff added by the TLSCRM mod, and fixes how awful the early segments are.

The character of Kreia in "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2" is undoubtedly one of the greatest female characters in video game history. Her complexity and depth make her a memorable figure, but despite her acclaim, much of her philosophy has been misunderstood. This is largely due to the surprising way the game presents her story and motivations. Kreia, also known as Darth Traya, embodies duality and nuance. She is both a mentor and an antagonist, guiding the player while challenging their choices and beliefs. Her worldview is deeply cynical, yet it is also imbued with a wisdom that encourages reflection. Kreia critiques not only the Jedi and the Sith but also the notions of destiny and free will, making her a fascinating philosophical character. Chris Avellone, the lead writer of KOTOR 2, stated in an interview that the game was meant to question everything within the Star Wars universe. Kreia embodies this questioning. She defies established conventions and pushes the player to consider the consequences of their actions. Her critique of the Jedi, who see themselves as guardians of peace, highlights the flaws in their ideology. She argues that their attachment to peace can sometimes lead to inaction and suffering. Furthermore, Kreia challenges the very idea of the Force. She views the Force not as a benevolent entity but as a power that manipulates individuals, pushing them to act according to predetermined patterns. This perspective offers a darker and more realistic view of the Star Wars universe, where choices are not always clear and the motivations of characters are often ambiguous. This video will explore in depth Kreia's philosophy and her critiques of the Star Wars universe. By analyzing her dialogues and interactions with the player, we will seek to understand how she questions the notions of good and evil, destiny and free will. Kreia is a character that invites reflection and reconsideration, and her legacy in the world of video games is undeniable. In conclusion, Kreia is much more than just a video game character; she is an iconic figure that embodies themes of moral complexity and philosophy within the Star Wars universe. Her ability to challenge conventions and provoke thought makes her one of the most memorable and influential characters in video game history.
