guys....it's barely a port (if it is a port - I'm not entirely unconvinced it's an emulator). No mouse support, no improvements to the original, except for quicksaves and a filter or two, and that's it. Thing is, I'm genuinely disappointed. I played it on the Genesis back when it was new(ish) and enjoyed it, but it aged like milk. There were tons of limitations - a tiny game window with virtually no draw distance, low fps, crummy controls, and I STILL finished the game. We lived with it back then because what did you expect? It's an fps on a 16-bit console. You just can't push pixels like you could on a pc. But this is now, 26 years later. Those limitations don't need to exist. I would love, and I mean LOVE a proper remake. Full screen action, modern controls, actually see further than 3 feet in front of the character's face, and blast that elevator music, baby! This is not that, and I am sad.

It's a rom packaged with a basic emulator. No updated controls or anything of the sort (which means no mouse controls, for instance). The default framerate is sort of horrifying, and it has a Turbo mode that "fixes" that by increasing the game speed (which also affects enemies, of course). The game itself was fine back then, but with the outdated controls and lack of any modern features except save states, this isn't something I can recommend today.

It's literally the same ROM that was freeware for years packaged with an emulator. Piko bough the license, plucked it from freeware and sells it here for $15 with a free emulator. This is the worst way to obtain and play this game.

My favorite childhood game and one of my favorite first person shooters overall. In late 90s this was my DOOM. PCs were extremely expensive and hard to get, so borrowing a Sega Mega Drive II (Genesis II) console from a friend was all I could afford back then. Among countless platformers and children games Zero Tolerance stood separately and was something different and mind-blowing. In the time I had the console for myself this was all I played whenever I could. The premise is simple – get through the maze of countless space station rooms from point A to point B. Shoot aliens. Kill them all on the floor – you get a password to next level and can start there next time you launch the game. Rush to the exit and you risk to lose it all – there was no save button. Of course, comparing to DOOM or Quake, Zero Tolerance hasn't aged well at all. Genesis' power was not enough to render a fullscreen 3D picture, so UI takes ~70% of the screen and drawing distance is slim to none. None of it mattered back then, but today it looks weird and unplayable. Zero Tolerance was never properly remade or remastered, and this version is no different. It's just an emulated ROM with the ability to save at any time, gamepad support and a CRT screen filter. Me - I didn't care. As soon as I saw ZT being available on Steam 20 years later, I never hesitated. Maybe it's a good thing that the game is present ‘as is’ and gives me a chance to put on nostalgia glasses and experience those pure emotions of joy and happiness one more time. With all its downsides, Zero Tolerance will always be my favorite from the Genesis era. Simple, but balanced and fun gameplay, the feeling of being lost in a maze and haunted by your enemies, wonderful atmospheric music... This game has a very small but incredibly loyal army of fans and I'm proud to be one of them. The years go by, quicker than I imagined. But the satisfaction from hearing “Floor secured. Proceed to next level” never fades away.

I'm so glad they put this game on steam. It's just an emulated version of an old bad novelty game and that's what I'm in for

This is a dream come true. Being 10 years old I did not have a PC and I was obsessed With DOOM this game was the next best thing on sega. I really hope this game gets remade ultra violent in the future. I would stay up really late and complete this game start to finish and I plan to do it again :)

This was a HUGE challenge. Pros.: - For oldies. - Difficulty. - For that time, the gameplay is interesting with creative and novel mechanics. Cons.: - Music is too repetitive. - Lags. - Damn snipers.

Remediable classic, but the console ports of the of released are way more superior. Which the console ports are titled as Zero Tolerance Collection which featured the unleashed sequel, but the digital PC versions on Steam or GOG are just a lazy emulation port, if i wanted to play the emulation port, i play the Genesis/MegaDrive port! As much as i'm a PC gamer, all they do for Zero Tolerance is release or update this version toe the Zero Tolerance Collection like how they did on the console ports! But as of now on Steam or GOG, i don't recommend this port!

Yes kids, there's a FPS older than Doom. And guess what? It has blood stains, you can fall on the floor and has player classes. And you could play all this in a Mega Drive! Aaaah, the old days...

My friend, Tony Ramos, aka Weasel, told me about this game and i tried it out, as we were both in call and he told me all the tea of all the characters and developers as he watched me play. Thank you BIG T I'll never forget you! BTW the controls for keyboard is x, c, and the arrow keys!
