TowerFall Ascension

Gameplay is centered around mechanics trade-offs, which provides a healthy skill ladder and replayability. It reminds me of Nidhogg - simple concept, polished gameplay. This is a well-balanced PvP platformer focused on very fast rounds of gameplay against local friends. The whole map fits on screen, which can be a lot to process visually with 4 players. It also has some good levels of customization in the darkworld expansion if you get it. Cons: This game prefers 60 FPS, 1920x1080 resolution and may slow down if you don't match. I saw no other issues in the base game. I had one crash when loading my custom map made with the DLC level editor. If you don't want fast gameplay, or if you want story modes or great co-op, try another game. In the base game there is a co-op mode in Towerfall, but fighting simple enemies in an arena that fits entirely on-screen isn't dazzling. This game shines for PvP, not co-op. I would recommend this game, it is well-rounded with bells and whistles and an ideal PvP game to play with friends.

excellent game, it's both simple and challenging and the mechanics work great. I've played a lot of multiplayer with one friend and also single player, both are great but it has friendly fire so multiplayer can get very chaotic

Fantastic game to play with your friends and family in couch coop. I had so much fun killing my siblings accidentally, to finally ascend the tower and defeat the last boss! It also has a PvP option that is also fun. The only feature missing for me would be online play.

One of the best couch game ever ! Very easy to learn, hard to master. Anybody can have fun in a matter of seconds.

Fantacstic game! Especially in local co-op with friends. Worth every penny.

Could not play coop/vs. Steam overlay would not open. Manually sending remote play invite left the players at a 'input paused' screen as if I didn't have the game active.
