Outstanding classic star wars game. There are a few mods that make it better and harder which is nice. Great replay value. Due for a sequel but that will never happen.

Played and beat this game many times back in the 90's and it was a joy to play and beat again. The game still holds up, even if the graphics are dated. The only issue with this game on modern machines is the tactical combat ship shading/graphics are wrong but that can be fixed with a patch you can find within the community. Still even now my favorite strategy in this game is to play on impossible difficulty with the Alliance and basically every planet you control you can build 2 shields and have 2-3 Sullustan regiments as a garrison on the planet. They are the cheapest unit in the game with the highest detection rating against covert ops and with 2 shield generators on the planet the Empire cannot assault the planet and unlikely to bomb it successfully. From there you just duplicate on each planet until you own the galaxy.

Honestly i loved this game when it was new , and i still like it But i really wish someone remakes it with better graphics :) Sill , all in all a great Star wars themed game, i recommend it to those who do not need flashy animations and can still use their imagination to supplement the game

I bought this game on release when it was on hard-disk and a friend of mine did as well and we would stay up hours into the early morning doing versus against each other while calling each other on the secondary land-lines (because we were using dialup) in order to shit-talk each other. This is a classic and a really fun game, but also a but formulaic. The Steam version does have annoying bugs like the "violet" bug and also suffers from some crashes that led to hours of time lost (I forgot I needed to old school hard-save every few turns). I do see there are some mods and such that help with QOL and update some graphics and etc... but I'd prefer to review the game based on the base game. Hint 2x Gencore 1s per planet at early game = win, and 2 Gencore 2s at endgame = Win. Just be sure to have enough regiments at each planet capable of catching saboteurs because the Imps and Rebs will spam sabotage missions CONSTANTLY.

One of my favourite star wars games of all time back in the day. Called Supremacy here in the UK. It's simple, not flashy. But filled with amazing little touches that you can tell was made by a real studio that actually loved the universe and wasn't just commercially focused. Having recently dived into the wider universe books, I can now appreciate many of the characters from there too that I never knew before!

Excellent game!! I played again after 25 years, and after 16 intense hours, I was able to get my first win with the rebels! It's time to play a new game, this time with the empire and with greater difficulty.
