There are elements in this game that are quite enjoyable, like the setting, characters and stories. However all of them are stuck in an obnoxiously and poorly paced walking sim featuring so called "psychological horror". Which just seems to be random stuff mashed together, nonsensical, unclear and unfocused. Should've been a straight up detective story, minus the terrible dream sequences, jump-scares and hide-and-seek monsters... RIP Rutger Hauer

It's not that great but some parts were enjoyable so it's still a nice game at least. Atmosphere - is great. That's one thing I really liked in this game, and main reason why I even bought it in the first place. Very good cyberpunk feel especially in the earlier parts of the game. Music - is very forgettable to be honest. Now that I think about it, I don't even remember how the soundtracks sounded during the game. They were just there I guess. It filled up the silence and that's fine, whatever. Story - This is a bit harder to rate and gather my feelings about. The story is not bad, but not great either. I don't know what I expected from the story but this felt like it wasn't it, or wasn't big enough as I'd hoped or expected. It has a solid, slow and interesting beginning, but by the end it just feels like it went crazy and felt a bit rushed. Also I didn't really like the dream sequences or the more horror-esque path it took later on. That might be the main selling point of the game but to be completely honest, I think the game would've done better without it completely, and focusing on being only cyberpunk/mystery game, and being a bit bigger and even more detailed. Gameplay - for me is good. I don't mind that it's a "walking sim" or whatever. I really found it fun exploring the hotel and all the rooms for the side quests. But what I didn't like, again, are the dream sequences. I just think they were too artsy, while not really having a huge point or making too much sense other than to introduce the more horror aspect of the game. An alright cyberpunk game to play if you like the genre but don't know what else to play. 6/10

Found myself deeply immersed in this game and was in awe the whole time. My only wish is that there was more content or more games just like it. I've been unable to find something within this vein that offers such a gripping experience. Visually stunning and the investigation became addicting. I can't say enough good things about this game and would absolutely recommend it. Purchased on a whim because I wanted a break from fast-paced shooters and now I want more. If there was ever a game that I wish I could play for the first time again, this is it.

75/100 Not a big fan of hide-n-seek games but Observer is pretty cool. I just like the whole dystopian, cyberpunk thing. The idea of losing one self to cybernetic enhancements... is fascinating. Didn't have any tech issues but I'd advise others to play on Direct X11 when given the option if you don't use RTX.

I really wanted to like this game, the aesthetics were great, visually a treat, together with seemingly interesting game mechanics at the start. However, I found it all to be be lacking. The "investigation" elements were quite small and amounted to no more than a typical quest with various objectives, you are actually very limited as to what you can do, the actual mechanics at times were fiddly and frustrating. On top of this, there was way too many convoluted, non sensical cut scenes or "dream" sequences that just became annoying and drawn out. Clearly the Devs thought they were some sort of high brow artistic creator when in reality it just looked like a 5 year old had hold of the game engine. I made it through the game to ensure my thoughts were valid and so that I could write this review with confidence and I am happy with my comments. No spoilers but also the end of the game is absolute rubbish and stupid

This is a great game. Your choices (when you make them) help determine the path that you take and the eventual outcome. Its a warped cyber punk world with touches of blade runner. Once you start to play, you wont want to stop.

Amazing game especially if you take your time and follow all of the side journeys and consider that it is something more akin to alien isolation + some of the older puzzle games (myst etc). Sometimes you do get stuck in a room unsure of what to do - sometimes that is because you haven't found a small object (a mug...lol), but it can easily be remedied by watching the appropriate segment of a walkthrough. I only had to do that twice in this game. Overall, not very buggy. The only bug I came across was the hospital dream sequence while pushing the stretcher. Again remedied very quickly by searching up on a discussion forum. This could be patched up by the developers i presume but meh. It has very minor flaws that are significantly outweighed by the positives - interesting story with an element of loss and grief, fantastic atmosphere and graphics/sound design, point and click elements with lots of easter eggs. At first I thought that with it taking place in only a few buildings it would get boring, but the dream eater sequences make up for that with various places to explore and view and provide some of the most intense visual imagery I have seen (not that I am a massive gamer - I must say some of the themes and visuals in some of these sequences would likely induce a fairly emotional response for anyone on psychadelics). A very appropriate send off for Mr Hauer.

i gave this game three chances altogether... it simply didn't agree with me on any of the three occasions. the setting and the art style are grand, i love the gloomy dystopian cyberpunk theme, which is why i bought the title in the first place. anyway, the game mechanics are quite annoying. opening doors, cabinets and drawers feels too much like a chore and so is scanning everything in overall 4 different vision modes, normal vision included plus the character moves painfully slow. enough of this. good, that rutger hauer will never get to play this. i'd advise NOT to buy this at full price!

This was a really great game and experience. i wish i took my time doing the side missions but the main story just really pulled me in to the point where i just wanted to focus on that. overall, i LOVED this game. I'm hoping they make another observer game or one very similar to this type of style.

Fun adventure with an incredible atmosphere. Observer is a really fun game in the style of early 90's adventure games, albeit with full control of your character. The start of the game is the best part where you are given the ability to investigate things using various tools at your disposal, reminiscent of the first Condemned game. The game's setting is dripping with atmosphere and reminds me heavily of the first Deus Ex. The biggest negative about the game is its length and scope, the entire game basically takes place in a single building and can be completed rather quickly. There is no combat, just mild puzzle solving and a lot of dialogue. Fully recommend this game to somebody looking for a cyberpunk adventure with a great atmosphere and interesting engaging story that wants to take a break from combat oriented games.

Cyberpunk dystopian noir detective story. If that sounds appealing, this is the game for you. Can be played in a whole day or a weekend. Some visual glitches but to be honest that just adds to the immersion ;)

Observer could serve as the blueprint to make a Blade Runner game.

This was an enjoyable experience. I mean, not enjoyable like a walk in the park, but enjoyable as a horror walking simulator with light puzzles and some hide-and-seek. The story didn't come together for me until the end, but I'm glad I played it. The environmental storytelling is top-notch, and I can sort of see how Bloober Team advanced to games like Silent Hill 2 Remake. I'd recommend picking Observer up.
