Where to begin... Photography concept? cool. Story plot in theory? cool. Getting Tarot Readings? neat. In reality, this game was a cloggy mess despite an overpowered system, the story seemed to not know what it even wanted to do at times, and other side objectives were solely to pad game time and gave nothing to the story. The shocking moments were nothing more than theatre. They didn't feel warranted at all, and were over the top for the sake of being over the top. My God, the ending dragged and dragged. The story felt concluded and proceeded to take 45 minutes with pointless flavour text to finally reach the credits. I really wanted to like this game, very dissapointed.

This is a short but very well-written dark suspense story, that will keep you wondering what's really going on during every chapter. Reality, trauma, and fiction become one. It's a true representation of what severe trauma and mental illness can do to one's mind; shatter it into a million pieces, until the danger turns out to be you and yourself.

It's about a 7/10 for me. I enjoyed this as a visually immersive game that transports you into 1940's Tuscany countryside, with a lot of attention to historical detail mixed with psychological horror. It has good voiceover and music, the camera and telegram elements were neat, and skillfully includes Nazi subject matters without being overstated. It hooked me for the initial 3/4 of the game, but once you get to the last 1/4 it looses its chilling period-piece charm, to be replaced with puppets, confusion, and over-dramatic themes. Towards the end it leaves it up to the player to decipher or decide the interpretation of the story, with very blurry lines of illusions and truth. I understand that it was trying to convey the struggles of trauma and mental illness, but games like these with intentionally vague storylines can cause them to feel both frustratingly complex and shallow at the same time. In which case, I just end up manually looking up what the story is most likely supposed to be so I can feel a little less disappointed. Worked mostly fine and ran smoothly on my ROG AllyX despite low FPS, though I did run into a couple of bug crashes and getting stuck in places with the bicycle(don't bother attempting to use it in small spaces). It also prevented me from finishing a couple of side quests towards the end of the game that I didn't know had a chapter limit for completion. Despite some flaws, my positive impression of its graphics and interesting atmosphere allow it to still feel worth buying during a sale.

A haunting, beautiful experience, Martha is Dead is one of the most unique games I've ever played. The story is deep and emotional, the visuals are stunning, and the atmosphere is unforgettable. I loved the small immersive details — developing photos, sending telegrams, even the puppet theatre. It's unsettling at times, but never in a cheap way — it respects your mind more than it tries to scare you. If you're into narrative-driven, artistic games with a psychological edge, don’t miss this one!

Bad performance, you'll turn slightly and do a 180 from lag. Gets very old.

To activate 4k I had to search, not available natively. It took 10 minutes to have the first interaction.

Reminds me of the famous quote by Anais Nin, "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are."
