Pros and cons to this game Pros - the gameplay itself is fun, it's challenging, and you have to figure out how to not only keep yourself safe but your son. you also get to decide how much you teach him and im sure that affects the ending and also your own ability to survive since a lot of new skills are only learned by him. Cons - the writing is not good. Maybe it's just poorly translated? i don't know. but it's hard to read the dialogue of any character and not get a little frustrated with how it's worded or how it's hard to even understand sometimes. It got to the point where im now just skipping dialogue cause it's frustrating to read. so im really conflicted about recommending it. it's a fun game so i say play it but don't expect to really like the writing at all.

So the game is broken and the last hot fix was made in July 2024. But I strangely liked it. The main reason I haven't abandoned this game is my interest in a large number of mechanics, many of which you won't find in other games, and also because after completing the game your progress and items are saved(you can choose). Which made every next walkthrought more and more interesting for me. The game has a lot of annoying bugs and is quite unfinished, but it didn't stop me from replaying the game 5 or 6 times (I kinda lost count). Developers also made Cody's Kingdom game mode which was made in absolutely different genre... Colonial sim or something. Maybe this is the main reason why they abandoned the game. They didn’t calculate their resources for such a large piece of work and couldn’t even decide on the main genre. It's like they didn't like the result of a main game. started to develop it in absolutely different genre. didn't manage and abandoned a whole project. I don't recommend to buy this game for a full price. I personally liked it but this doesn't change the fact that it's a raw, undeveloped product which, by the looks of it, no one's going to finalise.

So, I really really wanted to like this game. But I can't. It has a good concept but the execution is terrible. Water is scarce, have no idea how to make the kid, Cody, to increase/learn new skills. Things get worse with moms health, but for Fs sake, its ramp up is ridiculous. I have restarted my game a few times thinking the reason the rain does not come is a bug, but its not. It gets more and more grindy and tedious. I just died from drinking fresh water from a bottle I was saving until my thirst was almost nil, only to have the clean water kill me. I am so disappointed in this game. Was reading the community comments, the Devs don't update often, many many MANY suggestions from the players get ignored. SO frustrated-- save yourself from this by not buying this game.

Great game with different modes to keep the game play going. Works well on steam deck and has a good story line. Lots of looting and crafting to keep you busy.
