At first, the game’s minimalist style and atmosphere are charming, but the longer you play, the more its design frustrations become obvious. The core gameplay loop boils down to repeatedly buying bread and bows, which quickly gets tedious. The lack of quality-of-life features makes everything feel like a chore. Constantly running back and forth to restock or hold down a key to slowly upgrade structures feels more like busywork than strategy. The minimalist UI, while stylish, comes at the cost of usability. There's no way to undo orders, and a single misplaced upgrade (like accidentally building a wall halfway across the map) can ruin a run. These limitations don’t add meaningful challenge, they just restrict player freedoms in frustrating ways. What starts off strong eventually devolves into a repetitive grind. With more control options and modern conveniences, this could’ve been a fantastic strategy game. Instead, it feels like it's artificially hard by design omission.

Good game to take your mind off of things, easy to understand and even if it gets a little repetitive, there's still always something to do. Fun to play with a friend or by yourself. My #1 game for coping with mental breakdowns

It’s an addictive mobile game, but on PC. I recommend it at your own risk.

Looks good on the surface and it’s fun for a few hours, but it quickly becomes apparent that this game has the depth of a puddle. Devs seem more interested in adding endless re-textures to the game than fleshing it out with more actual content.

Nice idea, lovely pixel art, terrible realisation of idea "players should think and plan their strategy", totally unlogical position of "we would not add the function to cancel building process" like if some PM or Dev have personal problems with it. but anyways, this game worth a try

Kingdom Two Crowns is a beautifully crafted and deeply engaging strategy game. Its minimalist mechanics belie a rich strategic experience, enhanced by gorgeous pixel art.

It's definitely a good game, and contrary to what you might believe, it isn't as easy as it seems, at least not later on. So there's about five islands you can reach in this game, the first two were easy enough, but the third one was like hell because of how limited my area and everything was. I'd love to rant but this is a review so for the newcomers who want to buy this, I would totally recommend it. The game is stylistic and cute, it's very minimal but the animations are fluid, the art is amazing and overall is just perfect graphics wise. The gameplay loop is basically to get resources and then build and expand your base/kingdom, easy enough right? WRONG! The game tells you NOTHING about what something does or what doing something does, everything is a total surprise, even moreso as you continue forward in the game because by then, it becomes hell of a lot more harder and stressful. The controls are very linear and so is the gameplay; one wrong upgrade or build and that's that, it's permanently there. You can't backtrack orders you give or demolish anything, the AI of the troops/npcs can be wonky and stupid, a bit buggy even because sometimes my builders refuse to build. Overall, the game is indeed fun but also incredibly stressful. There's definitely a learning curve since the game teaches you nothing, the tutorial is basically you press this and that to move and upgrade things then that's it, nothing about mechanics, what upgrading something would do, etc. You could check out guides online and I'd recommend it or play on easy difficulty first to get the hang of it and understand things. I would say you could drop in 20 hours of gameplay to beat the game, maybe more, maybe less, can't say since I just haven't made it that far despite reaching island 3. Such a thunderfuck of a surprise some things are here. Anyways it's cheap, fun and enjoyable. Go for it.

A wonderfully simplisic game to play with in depth stories and adventures. I love the expansions and the worlds they offer. I reccomend this game to play with nearly anyone. The simple contols make learning easy. Learning lessons the hard way such as not building outside of the walls at night are hard, but that is just apart of the game.

KTC. A wonderful tower defense/city builder where you are a recently crowned monarch returning to his/her lands. Gold is power in your hands: you collect a small sum of gold from a treasure chest and from this meager pile, and through careful management skills, try to attract homeless NPCs into your cause. Put them to work chopping down trees in order to get you more gold. Turn NPCs into archers and soldiers and other types of workers to help expand and make your kingdom more powerful. The objective is to hold out against the Greed, a malevolent group of thieving monsters who thrive on your gold...and will steal your crown as well. Don't let them: if they take your crown from you back into their lands, it's over and you're just another has-been that reached for power and couldn't hold it. Great game, I highly recommend it.

In this game, the greeds do not harm animals and humans who do not work for us. But you have to cut down trees, kill animals, and build to advance civilization. The truth is that this is how human civilization progresses, and we must continue to do so.

This game is a wonderful experience, with various kingdoms to explore to the beautiful artwork and OST, how can anyone say otherwise? This game is a cozy and fun adventure, but has challenging elements that keeps this game interesting! I truly admire the beauty behind the simple, yet incredibly detailed pixel art-style, which is important to maintain the visual appeal of the game. The soundtrack is perfectly suited, truly immersing oneself as a monarch. One critique I do have is the inability to undo certain tasks (e.g. cancelling a wall build), however, this mechanic emphasises the significance in committing to various actions the consequences that follow. Overall, a great game to play with a friend or partner!

Honestly Top 10 game. Just play it, grab a friend (or don't!). Edit: Just played the Olympus DLC. It was incredible until the final island, constant bugs, needed to restart several times, constant disconnecting and honestly just a not very well designed boss. Shame, the rest of the game and the other DLC's are so good, and literally have never seen a bug until Olympus. The final island was borderline unplayable.

This is a game of strategy and patience. Each island is more challenging than the last one. Generation appears to be random so different play throughs require different approaches and that means you always have to explore to find the resources you need. You must make it to island four in order to defeat the enemy permanently by unlocking iron. Build lighthouses so you can travel between islands frequently without rebuilding the boat. Game statistics after you liberate each island are very interesting for comparison. If you want to play a game over a long time period, chipping away at accomplishments as you go, building and battling, then this is the game for you.

Kingdom Two Crowns is a game that proves you don’t need complex controls to create deep, rewarding gameplay. You move left. You move right. That’s it. But somehow, that simplicity unfolds into a full-blown strategy experience that kept me invested for hours. As your kingdom grows, so does your attachment to it, especially when your villagers are under threat. Discovering new mounts, unlocking resources, and expanding to new islands feels satisfying and earned. Each step forward gives you a reason to push a little farther next time. I haven’t touched the DLCs yet, but the base game alone offers plenty to enjoy. It’s relaxing, occasionally intense, and oddly charming in the way it balances minimalism with meaningful progress.

This game is seriously addicting, especially because it really rewards players for figuring out a "system" for how they will progress. The game rewards well thought out strategy and efficiency, but punished impulsiveness and those who don't learn from previous mistakes. Once I finished the main game, I tried the Call of Olympus DLC. It was a great departure from the base mechanics.

A beautiful, picturesque game. Able to be played casually with only your arrow-keys. It lacks depth, but it's such a relaxing time. I enjoy the simple base-building and the aesthetic. 7/10

Kingdom Two Crowns is the best in a great series and absolutely worth getting. It has probably the most explanation as you play (other than 80s) as the two prior have a very steep learning curve where nothing is much explained. It’s fun, bright, the free DLC really changes things up and keeps you replaying. Two Crowns is fun and challenging in single-player but just as great in co-op (if not better). Honestly if you’re interested in getting into the Kingdom series I can’t recommend this one enough. You’ll love it.

Honestly, this game surprised me. I kept seeing it pop up from time to time, and it had never really looked interesting to me. But at some point, I finally tried it... And I gotta say this game is far better than I had originally expected. And I'm very grateful to having tried it, because I've really come to enjoy this game. Almost instantly became a game that I keep coming back to. It's just a fun and cozy game to settle down into. It's great to unwind to or even maybe indulge in some multitasking with.

The art style for this game and its entire series is very simple and charming. But it's also not difficult to read even with my vision impairment. It's just very nice to look at. But the lack of clear outlines could make it very unclear for other low vision players, or possibly people with It's very easy to find a routine that can feel like it might trivialize the game, but the random seeds for each island can make it easy to be punished for getting too comfortable or being too ambitious. So the difficulty is pretty comfortable no matter which you choose. My only real complaint is that it can be pretty hard to distribute coins if you're trying to keep a more compact kingdom. You can accidentally put coins into structures or equipment instead of knights or peasants, or the wrong structures if they're too close together. But that's the only real complaint. The other is just that it would be nice if it was easier to choose the monarch you want at the start of the game.

This is hands down one of my favorite series, and this particular one, Two Crowns, is one of my favorite games of all time. I've probably sunk more hours into this than most people sunk into other games, and I continue to play this on and off for years to come. I'm not gonna stop. This is awesome, and the devs are really cool for keeping kingdoms alive for so many years. Most developers would cash in, move on, but not these guys. They just keep at it and adding more and more content, making it even more of an absolutely banger value. If you like pixel art and you like side scrolling, You like yourself a good challenge? This is just... you gotta. Why not?

If you plan to plan co-op online, don't. Multiplayer wasn't tested properly. Numerous times I had to save and quit and come back into the game because a commands broke. I currently have a building that is half built and nothing I do can get it built. Because of this nothing else will work. My guess is all the positive reviews are for single player.

This game is just fun, expeditiously if you have someone to play with. A simple strategy is to clear the dock side first as that will completely make it safe to expand and make it that you only need to defend one side.

I discovered Kingdom Classic for the first time on Flashgames almost 10 years ago, and I instantly fell in love with the concept — simple and linear, with beautiful pixel art and a really compelling strategic component. Years later, I bought the full version and eventually got Kingdom Two Crowns along with some of its DLCs. I wasn’t disappointed: new mechanics, improved visuals, and interesting challenges kept the experience fresh and engaging. In Call of Olympus, the addition of the fleet, divine weapons, and the use of hoplites to attack portals made this new adventure especially captivating. The boss fight, however, was the one major letdown. After spending a lot of time building up my army and fortifying my entire defensive line (
by the way, the serpent fight was genuinely thrilling
), the final battle felt rather underwhelming. I only encountered one bug during my playthrough — the final portal didn’t spawn — but thankfully, support was quick and helpful. Big thanks to Ryan for the assistance! It would also be really helpful to allow players to destroy towers. Sometimes it’s easy to mix up the hermits and accidentally build the wrong tower — being able to either remove or overwrite special towers would be a great quality-of-life improvement. That said, I really hope more challenges will be added in the future — for now, only the past ones are available.

Inspirational. Very simple controls, with a rather simple premise, and a simple goal. Forgiving and fluid as well, with no right or wrong path. If you wanna turn your brain off a bit, and take in the scenery, maybe build a little army while you're at it, you'll like this. Also, kudos to the sound team. OST's nice, and the SFX fit good.
