✦ Overview
Nursery Slime is a surprisingly deep RPG that mixes light simulation, a strong narrative bond between characters, and a slow but satisfying climb from “nobodies” to respected adventurers. Don’t be fooled by the cute name — this is one of OTAKU PLAN’s most well-rounded games.
✦ My Experience
The protagonist is no longer a young hero — now just a washed-up man trying to make ends meet. While on a desperate mission, he’s saved by a mysterious slime who decides to follow him. Eventually, she takes on a human form for convenience, and from there, their journey together begins. They rise through the adventurer ranks by completing quests, battling monsters, and slowly building their bond. What starts as a simple premise becomes an emotional, well-paced story, with solid progression and endearing character growth.
✦ Gameplay
The core gameplay loop revolves around daily missions to earn money (and pay rent!), with the goal of raising your guild rank by clearing key quests. But there’s more depth: The slime can’t level up through combat. Instead, she must be fed specific items at night, each of which boosts different stats. You can equip weapons and gear, explore optional side quests (some of them hidden), and even unlock mini-games within certain missions. There’s a great balance between main story, side content, and light management. Despite its RPG Maker base, it delivers a surprisingly long experience, clocking in at 20+ hours if you’re going for full completion.
✦ Erotic Content
As expected, you’ll need to install the external +18 patch to unlock the adult content. That said, this is one of those rare titles where the erotic content takes a back seat to the actual gameplay. The H-scenes are well-drawn and tied to the bond between the slime and the protagonist, but they’re not the game’s main selling point — just an enjoyable bonus to a genuinely engaging RPG.
✦ Conclusion
Nursery Slime exceeded expectations. It takes a simple story and turns it into something emotionally satisfying, with RPG mechanics that feel rewarding and varied. Whether you’re here for the lewds or just looking for a quality indie RPG with monster girl charm, this one’s worth every cent of its ~€12 price tag.
✦Pros
✔ Well-written relationship with real progression ✔ Unique slime stat-growth system via feeding ✔ Great value with 20+ hours of gameplay ✔ Side quests, hidden content & mini-games ✔ Balanced RPG loop with daily progression ✔ Erotic content tied to character growth
✦Cons
✘ Combat is fairly basic ✘ External patch required for full H-content SCORE: 8.5/10 ★
➤ Follow my curator page: Eros game ➤ Join the Community: Eros game
