Tony Hawk's™ Pro Skater™ 1 + 2

I would recommend this game on sale or off sale. This is a game to play with your homies or just by yourself, game is 10/10. Really addicting!

It's a fun game when played casually, but when you're grinding the challenges in the game, you begin to notice the flaws and it lessens the appeal.

easy game to pick up and play if you've only got a few minutes. the soundtrack is great, but sometimes i just put on a podcast while i shred

I've got two major points to make that most reviews on Steam appear to have skipped over: First, the physics feel largely like the old THPS games, admittedly more like THPS4 than 1 or 2. It doesn't feel like the slippery clown shoes kindergarten cake walk nonsense that THPS Pro Skater HD did, which was an absolute travesty of a game, and that was my biggest concern. The new music is a mixed bag, honestly, but the gameplay is definitely here. Second, there are broken achievements, and it seems to be a widespread issue. I missed both the 50k point achievement and the Rookie Challenge achievement within my first two hours of play, and I'm not the only one. Sadly, there does not appear to be any proper fix nor any update on the issue from the developer. If you're aiming for full achievements because you love classic Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, be prepared for a slog, or maybe even an impossible challenge. But if you're looking for the core gameplay you remember from the late 90s and early 2000s, you'll find it here, with a few nice modern touches as a bonus. Disclaimer: I've only put in two hours at time of writing this review, so future readers, feel free to double check against my current play time to see how much I'm enjoying the game.

I bought it for nostalgia, but I kept playing because it's just a good game.

Grew up with THPS 3&4 on PS1. Playing this, the nostalgia instantly came back, as did my muscle memory. Can't wait for the 3&4 re-imagining in the summer, but until then I'm going to work on 100%ing this game.

Great job on the remaster, used to play the original on the original Playstation if I remember right. A classic brought back to life, one of the most iconic arcade skate boarding games out there.

Great game like the old ones and nostalgia kickin in, BUT l.o.s.e.r./h.o.r.s.e. ONLY offline multiplayer...so you can't play with your friends online. Thats why I don't recommend it. If you just wanna enjoy it by yourself, go for it. It is a fun game.

This game got me back into the Tony Hawk games. And man it's been such a fun experience for all this! Play all the Tony Hawk games they're so worth it!

I played tony hawk pro skater on my Playstation 2 in my younger year and now have this game on steam. I do highly recommend if gane to everyone. But hope steam get tony hawk pro skater 3 + 4 Awesome game to play with your friends or other people.

A well done remaster that improves on everything from the original. The gameplay is engaging and chill at the same time. The intensity coming from trying to hit a high score or keep a combo going, but the "chillness" coming from the sense of zen you get while balancing a grind and listening to one of the best soundtracks gaming has to offer. A great game to play by yourself or with buddies on the couch or online.

This is my favourite type of remaster: the remaster that replicates how you felt playing the original. In my mind this is exactly what Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was like to play back in 1999. And if you never played the originals then you are still left with a damn fine game.

Classic! This game is so familiar, yet feels brand new at the same time. Love it. Looking forward to playing 3+4.

Fantastic remake. The multiplayer leaves a bit to be desired but the campaign/singleplayer is plenty of fun. Some of the achievements take way too long like being the campaign 100% with every skater.

Great arcadey skateboarding action game. You just roll through two games' worth of maps pulling tricks as a skater. Controls are easy to learn, hard to master. There's a decent variety of objectives, character customisation, and the soundtrack is a banger. Although the original games were of the PS1 era, I found the game to be a great throwback to the PS2 days as well. I felt a lot of nostalgia for when I used to play other Tony Hawk games as a kid. That said, since nostalgia is a big part of the appeal, do note the game may not feel the same for people who are entirely new to these types of games and didn't grow up with it. The only downside is that the game is still very much designed like any old-school game that puts an emphasis on chaining combos, which means it's not nearly as easy on your hands as most modern games. Take breaks, lest you get finger strains.

Spent countless hours playing the originals with friends while on speed during the good 'ol Playstation days. From what I've seen thus far, these remakes are worth every penny. I strongly recommend that you buy and give it a try and you won't be disappointed, I guarantee you that.

This is one of the very few examples of a remastered that holds true to the original game. You'll be getting the same Tony Hawk you and you friends use to chill playing with a huge graphics update and some nice added features.

a decent remake of tony hawks pro skater which like the name imply include the levels of the first two games , it's way better then the previous Tony Hawks pro skater HD which was once on steam and has all of the levels instead of a weirdly limited selection of the first 3 games if you included the dlc. it's control like you expect if you played the old games , the levels look great , they seem accurates , has a character creation , decent ammount of shirts , pants and other cosmetic items to pick from and also a park creator which seem to offer a decent ammount of options and is easy to use with a gamepad. you can expect to put way more then 8 hours if you want to 100% the game but with about 6 to 8 hours if you know what you're doing it's possible to see every levels in the campaign. I also still hate downhill jam , lol.

Its a great update to the originals. Looks good, plays great. Adds newer game mechanics to them and its a great game to kill time with in single player

I'm addicted.... I have to mention that I've actually purchased this twice, once on console, but no longer have that, and while I did complete so much on console, I had no issue doing it again, in fact, I'm addicted at this point. I can't stop until I finish the legend challenges and hit level 100, gonna need to play hundreds of multiplayer games and I don't mind it at all. This is a true to it's roots duo remake that brings me back. It is 100% worth it and you won't be disappointed. Be on the lookout for THPS 3 + 4 on July 11th, I know I will be.

As difficult and as addicting as I remembered it to be. I was only able to play 4 back on the PS1, but the remake captures the beauty and the magic of the originals. 10/10 I recommend this for both newcomers of the series and fans of the original Tony Hawks Pro Skater. A must have on the Steam Deck as well. Definitely getting 3+4 as well when it releases.

EXTREMELY fun, just make sure you get it when it's discounted. I 100% the main 2 games and then messed around for an hour or 2 so it'll be a good night's worth of entertainment but not much beyond in my opinion

Great game. Unrecoverable save corruption issue that has been known and not fixed for years. Lost all of my progress with no way to recover.

Whilst I can appreciate the quality of this remake, alas, the overly brief timeout clock has, quite frankly, ruined the overall experience. I must confess that I found the GBA version provided a significantly more enjoyable and entertaining diversion than this.

not worth unless heavily discounted multiplayer is dead (especially comp) which means after the XP nerf you're basically locked out of lvl100 achievement unless you wanna spam 900/indy combos for 20hrs straight to get the XP otherwise gameplay is fine annoying soundtrack

Amazing refresh of the originals. Perfectly done and oh so nostalgic.

It's the Tony Hawk you remember and love only with more modern QoL features and moves introduced in the sequels (reverbs, spine transfers etc). Did every challenge and got all my characters stats to max in 4 hours so it's not the beefiest of games but there's a lot of replayability with the create a park feature and it appears that the stats are in different locations for each skater so there's a reason to try as all skaters.

It's Tony Hawk 1 & 2 but with a massive graphical overhaul. What's not to like? It's perfect.

This game is riddled with crashes that they have no plan to fix, it may play better on console but on pc its a mess.

Haven't played enough to rate this game, but the controlling mapping is so great, it could be nominated for the best mapping torture in the hell. May change my review, If I will continue playing.

the more tricks you do and the longer you hold them the number goes up and the score gets high. very fun

No option to turn off auto-kick. Player accelerates too fast. Grinding accelerates player to max speed, regardless of approach speed.

I always express doubt when it comes to remakes of anything. Games, TV shows, movies… “Just leave it in the past.” “Don’t ruin the legacy.” This game is one of those cases where I’m glad people who had the same thoughts as mine were not listened to. From the inclusion of playing as the modern skaters (Nyjah!!) to the cleaning up of the classic levels (School 2! Venice Beach!), the incredible soundtrack (and the new additions!) this game is spectacular. I had this game on my PS4 and PS5 and as much as I’ve had friends say it was silly to buy it again on the SD… …they don’t get it, man… I’ve always said that the original version of this game is in my top 10 of games that I’ve ever played and I can confidently say that this game lives up to the standard that was set way back in the year 2000. It’s a shame they couldn’t include Spidey as an unlockable though… 9.8/10
