If you are as confused as I was, the DLC purchases all the expansion DLCs. (Mech Land Assault, Sky Fortress, Bavaroum Sea Heist) So below, I have collected all my reviews about said expansions :)
The Bavarium Sea heist is a rare case of a good DLC story. It’s a thoughtful and short add-on to your Just Cause 3. It adds a new faction, the “Eden corporation”, plus new items, a (slightly) overpowered gun, and a (slightly) op bout. One thing I loved about this DLC is how it forces you into the ocean. There's not much sea action in the main game/story, and it’s a breath of fresh air. If you're on the fence about this, don’t. Get it. It’s probably worth $15, marketed at 5. :D
The Mech Assault DLC is alright. The story it brings is pretty mid, but it’s worth it just for the mechs. Not only are they fun, but they're very overpowered, like it’s unfair… and unbalanced. If this were a PVP game, you'd rage the second someone got this. There's another mech that's locked behind a DLC, the “Reaper missile mech.” It’s on par or better than the auto cannon mech, but that's up to you to purchase. Otherwise, the handheld guns you get are ok. And the overall DLC story arc is sad; not much effort went into it. But at least there are 2 cutscene animations, and not storyboard art. :) (If you have the other DLCs, the cutscenes are storyboard art.)
I have a love-hate relationship with the Sky Fortress DLC. I love the mechanics and the short story it brings. But I also hate the mechanics it brings. My biggest problem with this DLC is that it feels out of place. The main story takes place sometime today, and has some high-tech, but plausible stuff. But when you look to one side of the map and see a flying airship, it’s no longer a “dystopian overthrowing” game, it's a Sci-fi “I-Robot” game. Now I do enjoy the jetpack it provides, it’s fun and useful. But when it has guns and missiles, which are almost the best in the game. It feels unfair, and no longer challenging or grounded (Pun not intended...). I like the aspect of being “slightly better” to the point of just enough. And not “Game over”. But I digress. It’s up to you if you want it; it’s a useful, fun DLC. As much as I hate it, I couldn’t see myself without it. Maybe if that Helicarrier went down after the story, I would be happier, haha.
To conclude, if you’ve enjoyed Just Cause 3 so far, I recommend waiting for a sale and purchasing this bundle. It’s well worth full price, but when they have big sales from time to time, why not get it at a discounted price? Hope I helped! :D
