Loved by millions, played for centuries, backgammon is a two-player strategy game quite unlike any other. The goal is simple: race to get your checkers off the board first. The deceptively deep rules and rhythm of backgammon has secured it as a favourite among casual and veteran players alike.

Backgammon Blitz { BB } is a fair representation of Backgammon game-play ... Good enough to keep up one's "skill" and pass the time. However, BB has some shortcomings. The "Master" AI is poorly programmed in its end-game tactics and often one may overcome significant deficits with patient block building. I don't consider myself particularly skilled but maintain over an 80% win ratio at Master ... SHAME, AI !! Also, the statistics maintained do not include some categories "somewhat" significant in Backgammon ... E.G., no tabulations for # of Gammons nor # of Backgammons. And, since the "Doubling Cube" is included, the omissions of Player vs AI wins at 2X, 4X, 8X, etc., is glaringly absent. Still BB is worth playing to kick off the dust and pass time. PS: I wish it had included a variant to enable playing ACEY-DEUCEY ... For a really wild side of the Backgammon universe :steammocking:

Keeps crashing in undo move. Almost every time! It's a stack-based turn progression... The player is allowed to undo moves until they say they are done! Broken and frustrating! I still play it I just don't recommend purchasing it until they fix the problem. There are also a number of frustrating knits about play and piece selection. The dialogues are weird-- sometimes they work by clicking on them, the rest of the time you have to use funky menu at the bottom. Also, obvious moves should be easier to select-- if there is only one move, make it simple, not multi-click. Too many clicks. Take some clues from BG for smart phonz-- minimize the effort/clicks/etc. And don't make selecting so hard-- it's tough for a mouse driven game. And how about an Acey-doucey game extension? The AI is definitely not I. I can beat master level 80% of the time. Some of the moves are REALLY reckless. At least you are not just fudging the rolls for the master level as some BG games for the iFone do. Cheating on rolls is not improved "AI" it is just making the randomness of the game favor the "AI" player-- at least you are not doing that. But a predefined moves given certain situations is not AI either. There seems to be roll little odds calculation by the AI to see if its move will result in a positive outcome based on the normal distribution of roll results I likely get next on my turn-- That's AI.

The lack of online players kills the game.
