Fractured Minds

Forget what you think you know about game titles. "Fractured Mind" is no mere label; it's a promise fulfilled. This game, despite its flaws, manages to bottle the very essence of the human experience. It's a bold claim, but it delivers on its promise to make you feel seen, truly understood, in a way few games ever do.

I think a game has to do more than be a surface-level simulation of anxiety to be impactful. There's no exploration of ideas here. Nothing deep, nothing thematically strong. I also don't think it successfully simulates these mental health issues, and even if it did, there's no journey to build a concrete statement on. Imagine if you didn't get to climb the mountain in Celeste! I don't typically care about functionality, especially when it's a game made by a singular 17-year-old, but this crashed a ton and every time I relaunched it would clear my achievements. Kind of a bummer game all around!

It’s short, but it made me feel something I don’t know how to explain. But I think that’s the point. 🥹
