The Mooseman

Beyond the photocopied style of many other Unity walking simulators in vogue on Steam in 2012, there is not much depth of execution here. The "style" is so flat and abstract that it's super unclear what locations are supposed to be. Is it a cave? Is it a swamp? I dunno, it's all dark blue and black. Like Never Alone but with fewer redeeming qualities. The text doesn't make any sense, the "boss fights" had me snoring, and the long sections where nothing happens bored me to tears. The "puzzles" were on-par with a toddler's activity board. The collectibles system left a lot to be desired; "go left at the start of every section" got old really fast. Just to collect some weird shape or something to put into a menu. You can click on them to get more info, but none of it makes any sense and doesn't contribute to the game in any way.
