The game is fun. It's essentially 2D Bloodborne if you are waiting for it to come to PC. The pros first are that the game plays very well, no frame-rate dips, the combat is very interesting and vastly differs from Blasphemous which I've seen it be compared to, other than the obvious Gothic elements and mini and main bosses. The combat is cool with multiple different weapons hidden in various areas and allows your overall build to change or complement it based on the simple, yet significant stat leveling system, similar to other Souls games. The bosses are great, somewhat challenging and it requires you to use your wide plethora of weapons you have found to defeat them. Finally, when you die during each boss, your currency is right next to the checkpoint so that's kinda nice. Now, the cons are very few, but completely destroy any semblance of me completing the game. The main issue is since this is based on Bloodborne in a lot of ways, that also means limited resources, especially healing items and bullets for your gun. For the PC players who have never touched Bloodborne, there are dedicated and easy to farm areas for healing items and even then, almost all enemies in the first half will drop 3-5 healing items, which allows you to go through the game without any issues. That limited resource system is a problem in this game because there are no optional areas to explore, similar to Blasphemous and thus, there are no ways to gain more necessary resources from easier enemies and farm for resources, which shouldn't be a thing for the player to do, but whatever, This means you have designated places to buy healing items for very expensive prices and you will have to decide to upgrade or buy more healing items and that's the only real way to do so. For bullets, you get bullets everywhere, which doesn't make any sense and is a terrible choice to make by the devs. As you get near and eventually into the second half, the areas become harder and there are no items that drop at all. You will eventually see some terribly designed encounters that are very unfair and cheap. Additionally, because you keep dying over and over again and you can't escape these encounters, you will not be able to get your currency and leave the room and buy more. You are stuck in an endless loop and your healing items will dwindle to the point where you have to find a way to find a farming area, waste time there, buy a bunch more healing items and hope it doesn't happen again. This seems very minor, but it can become a big issue very quickly and push people away from buying the game or not. I might come back to it, but I don't know how soon.
