Boy great game. Picked from a friends wishlist. in a short time it feels like a mix of the movies, The Truman Show then becomes Neo escaping from work in The Matrix. And it´s just for starters!

Headsup: You have to accept that this game is telling you a full narrative with no intention to skip dialogue. If you know beforehand that you need to have some patience, sit back and actually follow this narrative, you will be less frustrated of the pacing. With that in mind i kinda think this is enjoyable so far.

I first heard about this game maybe a year ago? And at that time i thought it was a alright game with a lot of cool elements into it, but not something i thought i would buy myself. Then i saw it was on sale and bought it. This game has one of the most well written and fully fledged story with a lot of hidden secrets that are really fun to find! I have never felt such a dopamine and adrenaline boost from a 28 year old senior account manager with no friends and a boring job nobody gives 2 shits about. But oh my god. The ending to this game makes it one of the best games I have ever played, so much i 100% completed it! A complete hidden gem that if you are at all interested you SHOULD play. NOW.

Yahtzee Croshaw was right; this game does have one of the best endings I've experienced in a very long time.

I bought this game by chance, didn't expect much, but wow! One of the best games ever made! You never get tired of the ever changing game mechanics: platformer, puzzles, first-person exploration. On the downside: the ending feels a bit abrupt.

This game is extremely fun and seamless in its gameplay and storytelling. The story is great, playing different perspectives was well put together. It really was like playing a movie in a way as it is very cinematic in how it is presented. The voice acting was top-notch and loved the music in the game as well. The music was so interesting and good that it almost became like another character. This game is THAT GOOD!. A little first-person, a little sidescroll, point-and-click, puzzles, action, storytelling... it checks all those boxes and does it very well. I'm definitely a fan and hope there is a sequel!

It grips you from the beginning, and keeps the same pace and intrigue throughout, with some pretty nice twists and a satisfying end. Writing is good, VO is good, gameplay is good mostly, only complaint is that the "run for your life" segments tend to be quite obtuse in what you have to do to continue, leading to some confusion and replaying. It has good autosave spots though, making it fairly easy to figure it out and continue.

Really fun game. Great design with some smart puzzles. Only complaint is the long cut scenes and taking control away from the player constantly, particularly towards the end of the game. Many sections felt playable but instead you are forced to watch an extended animation. Still, I recommend this game!

Very cinematic game with great art style! It's quite short but makes it up in story, world building and voice acting. The gameplay is also enjoyable even though some of the pursuit sequences could be handled a bit better.

American Arcadia is one of those rare experiences that makes you stop and say, “Whoa—I can’t believe a video game can do this!” It’s a wonderful, unforgettable A+ experience. The presentation, world-building, immersion, and storytelling are all top-notch. I found myself laughing out loud more than a few times. Most of the game unfolds in 2D, following a male protagonist through ultra-light puzzles and platforming. At other moments, it shifts into a first-person perspective from the viewpoint of his accomplice, cleverly breaking the fourth wall and blending humor with slice-of-life moments in a truly engaging way. The game is clearly inspired by The Truman Show and the idealized vision of Disney World. In fact, it feels like Walt Disney’s dream of “The City of Tomorrow” brought to life, with a sinister twist. Overall, it’s a fantastic experience. Bravo to the developers!

This game was amazing. I usually play cozy games or survival games but I couldn't put this down. At the beginning the cutscenes were annoying but it wasn't long until I was completely hooked.

it was certainly unique but i felt that a LOT of the one character was just holding the stick to the right. the concept of truman show/matrix is certainly fun but i felt that the writing holds it back. most of the puzzles were very easy then a couple were very hard, at least for me. seeing as the cut scenes and dialog can't be skipped i don't believe i'll ever play it again. i'd say it's worth it on sale, i got it for $10 and it took me about 7 hrs to finish. i'm not upset with my purchase, but i probably would be if i'd paid full price.

So, so good. Funny, interesting, and made me think of how we interact with social media and reality TV in real life while still immersing me in the game. Gameplay was fun and pretty straightforward. The puzzles were fun and not too easy, the platforming was really fun and had some difficulty while not being annoying. Voice acting was the real star for me, it added so much life and humor to an already great game. Definitely worth playing and probably will replay in the future!

A pleasant surprise from a smaller Spanish studio. A mix of the Truman show & Walton Disney. With great writing and acting, no obnoxious 4th wall breaking or bland commentary, just overall well executed with a variety of light platforming, puzzles in 2D and 3D. I completed the story in 8 hours, it never overstayed it's welcome and had a proper ending.

It's giving Black Mirror vibes. Loved the combination of sidescroller and first-person. ''Don't be a fool'' is playing in my mind all day long. 5/5, Trevor approves.

Extremely fun and well written puzzle platformer. Took me about 6h to play through, but I enjoyed ever minute of it. So that's about 5 cents per minute for great entertainment. Whole heartedly: 11/10 can recommend!

What a fun point and click adventure Having the combination of 2.5D side-scroll with Trevor and the first person puzzling with Angela was wonderfully done The cuts from gameplay to the interviews gave it such an "Office" vibe which was great, loved it Being a game that's 'set' in the good ole 70's, the game is rife with movie references and pseudo-nostalgia throughout the story, the characters and their dialogue At first, I felt that the exposition given by cutting straight into tv adverts or new reports was jarring, but they grew on me and it really felt thematic The story, while not exactly new or ground-breaking (the game wears its inspiration on its sleeve), was still very enjoyable especially through the delivery of everyone's lines and expressions Yep, even with their cartoonish models they still show more expression than some triple A games nowadays Although I will have to say that the subtitles often did not match with the dialogue and had plenty of spelling errors (but that's a tiny gripe) TLDR: short game that can be completed over a weekend nice blend of side-scroll and 3D puzzling funny dialogue and story

So. Much. Fun. Wonderful atmosphere and storyline with lots of humor, surprises, and commentary on media culture. Just the right length too. Other than a sometimes awkward reliance on stick switching and a few annoying puzzles, it's just about perfect. Very underrated--definitely give it a go!

Great game, its a clever combination of 2D puzzle platformers like Inside or Limbo, combined with a 3D aspect, when you play as the handler (controls feel a bit wonky on the controller in the 3D sections). Other than Limbo, its way brighter with a narrated story in a truman show reality tv show vibe. Puzzles are pretty simple, and like in most 2d Puzzle Platformers, most is running to the right and pushing crates around, not very challenging, but thats okay, since there is the story, artstyle and voicelines that are done well that still make you want to continue. Sadly there is no support for anything other than 16:9, so I have black bars when playing on my TV. Also the game crashes after every chapter, which it seems has been happening since release and hasn't been fixed yet. Thats why I give this otherwise good game a bad review

Loved the story line and art style, very atmospheric. The puzzles themselves weren't too complicated, but that just lets you focus more on getting immersed in the story!

В целом, лайк - за стиль, за сюжет, за некоторые геймплейные находки. Но несколько раз игра очень бесила, хотелось дропнуть.
