APE OUT

this game blew me away. the music slapped unbelievably hard. the system where the music follows your progression and your amount of aggression is unlike anything i've seen in any other game. the cool art style also fits the music, rough and sporadic. the ending hit me hard when the music exploded my only complaint is the length of the game. both the A side and the B side together take less than 2 hours to complete if you aren't terrible at the game. don't pay $15 for this, wait for a sale.

I get dizzy from the camera that floats around and the bright white guards. I don't struggle with VR, and I have no issue running around upside down as a xenomorph in Aliens vs Predator games The idea is intetesting but I cannot play it further due to getting dizzy

[h2] Simple and Exciting[/h2] Mechanically it´s kinda simple but it does an amazing job using the soundtrack -dynamic jazz that reacts to your actions- and the art style conveys the weight of every punch, every shoot you take and every kill. It just feel awesome. Short, fun and monkey.

Yo, y'all should check this out, it's literally a Jazz Percussion Album in the form of a top-down action game. The artstyle absolutely pops, and the gameplay provides a tough but satisfying challenge. With the arcade mode and hard levels I can def see myself putting some hours in to this

I have never, in my life, played a game where I can actually play one single level and feel like I can be done. This game is the first, in my entire life, in hundreds of games, to be worthy of my entire attention on every one of my applicable senses and actually kind of tire me out after a pretty short amount of time. The only explanation I can come up with is that this game activates some part of your brain that tends to lay dormant. It is incredible. I don't know how the feds thought this one up, but it's a great one. Hard YES as far as recommendations go.

Neat little game but its weakest points are in the areas that are mostly open spaces, the fact that you can only take roughly 4 shots until you die, and the amount of enemies, mixed with the fact that map geometry and enemy spawns are mostly RNG in the wider areas make it super easy to constantly die over and over. APE OUT is a fun game with a few flaws, but should be only bought on sale. Fun, but not $15 fun.

It's a super short game, I completed it under 2 hours. This game is a great example of how to do a great dynamic soundtrack. The game features "Free Jazz" as it's soundtrack (which is drums only), and it reacts to each enemy to kill with a sound of a plate of the drums. If you like jazz, that's enough reason to purchase this game. (but I will suggest you buy this in a discount, just because of how short it is).

I think this is the type of work that really benefits the industry. It's such a unique concept, while also activating the caveman fun receptors in your brain. The object is super simple, and the way color is used to show what things are is really amazing. The way each disc has a different set of drums to change the entire feel, and how each thing that happens in the game is set on a specific part of the kit, it is just like nothing I have ever experienced or imagined. It was a little tedious at times but overall I am so glad this game exists, and I'm very glad I was able to play it. 8.4/10
