A cash-grab bad version of The Ship.
Why is it worse?
- No water in pools
- Missing a map (because the map had water) They clearly weren't bothered.
- No elevators
- Same textures, just different lighting which actually is worse on doors.
- Worse options (can't change music volume for some reason? really annoying)
- Can't have as many AI on your ships
- Secret rooms were removed
- Still nobody playing
Feels like a scam. I actually recommend you buy the old one.

As of writing this review, The Ship finally feels like a proper remake. If you've never played the ship, it is a hunting game where you are given someone to kill onboard, but you are also being hunted at the same time. a constant needs system, money for kills chart, and security problems all come togeter to create a chaotic experience.
PROS:
+90% of features are implemented
+Gameplay is solid as ever,
+10 maps,
+5 gamemodes
+lots of weapons
+somewhat competent AI
+16 player, dedicated servers
CONS:
-not many of players online, make sure you have friends
sidenote:
The dev's kinda went dark when the game first launched, and it has been 7 months between 1.3 and 1.4, so take that as you will.

Great concept (as was the original), but released into EA without much content. Patches are glacialy slow and content is still way less then the original had.
Can not understand how the Devs would think this could work out. Even the original game failed due to playerbase and it had way more stuff. How can someone expect releasing a content-cut-down-version with lots and lots of bugs and then not patching it ASAP to surpase the original, to do any better?
The only way this could have worked is with dedicated Devs or kickstarter funding, then releasing a product that is already BETTER then the original, befoe starting to update on it.
As the game is and was for some time now, it only scares of ppl from it.
Wel joke is on them a glitch with steam made the game exessable for under 2 $ at release, so not even the fast cashgrab worked out.
Still a great concept of a game

I honestly am just disappointed with this one, I loved the concept for the original '' The Ship '' I even played it a little ( And enjoyed it. ) But The Ship Remasted is just dead. I can't really blame people for quitting this game, You can play this game like a quake shooter with little to no punishment. I remember when I really wanted to play The Ship and l shiz you not the next day I saw The Ship Remasted on the store and it was going to get released in about a month, I immediatley was ready to purchase it on launch day. But within the week the game died, Mostly because it was filled to the brim with bugs and fps drops. You're telling me that I can run Witcher 3 at a constant 85 fps but I can only run your shizzy cartoon looking crapfest at 25 fps? Yeah talk about poor optimization.... And when I said that you can play this game like a quake shooter I meant it, you can strafe just like you're in DOOM or Quake. I quickly learned that you could do this and my strategy basically boiled down to getting the blunderbuss or tommy gun and strafing/jumping around like I was playing Quake. This was just a cash grab by Blazing Griffin ( At least I think that is the developer, plz correct me if I'm wrong thx. ) Don't by it, it's dead. Buy DOOM or a tournament shooter, It would be more worthy of your money. Thank you for reading my little indignant rant, Have a good one! ☞ ͜ʖ ☞

If you loved the original, you will love this. the only issue i have (edit: which is no longer an issue) is that literally no one is playing on the 4 dedicated servers i saw on the player list, but hopefully the summer sale will spike the player count.
Since writing this the number of servers has increased and people are playing. It is great being able to play The Ship again.

I purchased this game way back when it first entered early access because I was a big fan of the first. I tried it out upon release and found it to be a broken, unplayable mess. But it was early days. I decided to wait it out to see if the game would improve over time. Now, after learning that it was out of early access and had been officially released as a complete game, I came back to it to see if things had improved.
It's a case of two steps forward, twenty steps back.
First, let's talk about the main draw, the main feature on display: the improved graphics over the original. Well, they certainly look better in that the textures are a lot cleaner and the ships look more atmospheric. However, character models are ugly and even look unfinished despite playing on the highest settings. Worse still, when interacting with NPCs like guards and bartenders, parts of the map flicker and thus make the walls and floors disappear. The game also drops frames for some bizarre reason almost anywhere on the map at random times, so I couldn't figure out what was causing these drops. Considering that this is a HD remake, this is just piss poor.
Even worse is the gameplay. The core is largely the same as the original, but with a couple of changes such as spawns no longer being exclusive to the cabin areas. This is good as it allows a greater diversity of weapons to enter the field sooner and thus updating the MFK list more frequently. However, using the weapons is another matter entirely. Combat in this game is the most broken aspect of all. In several melee duels, I've managed to clearly hit my opponent seven or eight times, only for me to drop dead when my opponent swings once even though I'm at full health. It's not as if I was on critical health. I was a fresh spawn and we were both using the same weapon.
But by far, the worst gameplay aspect of this game is the needs system. In the original, the needs were well balanced so as to not interfere with the main goal of the game to keep the action moving. In this version, the needs seem to come before everything else and have gotten me killed despite me trying my best to keep them satisfied. Sleep was the biggest killer. No matter how many times I rested to restore the meter, seconds later it would demand that I go to sleep again or force me to sleep on the spot, getting me killed. I'd be alright with it if it was required every other round or so, but when I'm having to take care of it at least 3 times in one round, that's just annoying.
If people still played the original, I'd recommend that you go and play that instead. But that game is dead too. It just feels like the devs stopped caring about this version, randomly decided to declare this version as finished and ran off. I was expecting big things from this but I guess that you should just never trust early access, no matter how promising it is. They'll always screw you over in the end.

R.I.P. The Ship
2004-2011
Left to die by Outerlight, straight up executed by Blazing Griffin.
I am one of the original 2006 players on my lost account, and it is still my first game with the most hours on this account. I still remember the day I picked it up at Target on a CD. My first steam game ever, and the only one on that old profile.
This game does not exist to Blazing Griffin. The Ship is still dead.
I have had hope for 12 YEARS, and I've been giving them the benefit of the doubt for 5 of them. Instead of holding to their promise and finishing Remasted, they made 3 other games. 3 whole games. Conceived, designed, modelled, programmed, compiled, and published, from blank window to full game. (Not to mention their film studio) Yet, they couldn't be bothered to open the Unity Editor for 5 seconds and fix bugs, let alone add all the missing features they promised. Unprofessional at best and manipulative at worse.
They clearly do not care about The Ship. They tricked a dying fanbase into funding their other products, and they're never coming back. The last update on The Ship: Remasted's status was AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR THEIR NEXT GAME. They never returned. "Just wait, we're a small indie studio" their FAQ says, yet they've grown to like 5 times their original size since then. All started by the game and fans they 100% ignore.
Every single day all these years, on their Discord, on their Steam, on their Reddit, and probably the others too, people try and try and try to get TS:R to work, realize it's an abandoned mess, and then try their hardest to get the old Source servers working (with more success too!). Almost as if BG never even did anything. All they did is make sure a better studio will never actually make a new The Ship. Crickets chirp for their other games yet they continuously ignore the faint dying spark of The Ship.
I wanted to have hope of someday, they told us they were that someday back in 2011. Today's the day I stop waiting. I Do Not Recommend ANYTHING by Blazing Griffin. Maybe it's just The Ship today, but tomorrow it could be something YOU like. 5 years of patiently waiting and more chances than they deserved, and today is my final "maybe someday."
I thought about The Ship again today, then I realized todays date, and it dawned on me. It's not someday. The Ship is gone, thank you Blazing Griffin. I'm not getting burned again by another "We will, we will, we will, we will, oops sorry project cancelled." Your priorities are obvious. I funded your stupid company and you spat on us. If I could, I would refund this game and take every extra dollar you made with my dollars on other projects. Steam should have an abandonware refund option for devs like you that swindle people in the long run.
I don't normally rate games, but this brought it out of me. I feel it in my heart and I cannot ignore it like I have all these years. Blazing Griffin took our money and abandoned us like con artists. Just like the time BitLife purchased InstLife ONLY to discontinue it and shove BitLife down the other fans throats.
They said the same thing too,
"we're gonna fix up InstLife. Anyway, here's BitLife"
Liars. Just like Blazing Griffin.
"we're gonna fix up The Ship: Remasted. Anyway here's Murderous Pursuits instead."
Identical. Insidious. I give up. Nothing has changed. All the hope was false. I waited years for a version I could gift to all my friends. I would've happily been a walking billboard for this game, but there was never anything to share.
For my own sanity, I rip this bandaid off. The Ship isn't one of my favorite games anymore. The Ship doesn't exist. Hope you're happy you got the rights to say "Mr X" in another game and do nothing else with The Ship, because none of us are.

Graphically, it's a huge stup up from the original. The graphics are very comparable to the Xbox 360 version of Bioshock Infinite. The weapon handling is pretty smooth, cameras seem to work better, and the AI is pretty good, although I think the AI could be harder. Also, you can see your legs, which is nice.
It's still in alpha but if you have $15 laying around, pick it up on sale. The atmosphere and core concept are unique, and the Art Deco designed ships are easy on the eyes and fun to play on.
What Blazing Griffin can improve on or add besides what they're already wokring on:
-more difficult AI, whether it be raising their movement speed, accuracy, ability to avoid cameras, whatever, just make them better at finding and eliminating their targets, even if the target is you or me.
-always room for more weapons
-maybe a 'hardcore' mode limited to the smaller maps where you have no hud and no hint as to where your quarry is.
-ability to drop bundles of money, say $500 or $1000 to bait players into going into dangerous zones
-do a free weekend to drum up business and build playerbase
-4 pack with bundle pricing, or raise the price to $25-$30 but do like the old game did and get a gift to give to a friend so they can play too, this way you'd sell more copies, albeit at a discount, via bundling. The minimum order would be 2 copies but the effective price per copy would remain at $12-$15.

The remastered version is really sluggish. The bots can run circles around you. You're dead before you even know what happened. Also, a lot of the controls that do multiple things don't transition when they're supposed to. I've been busted for pulling out a weapon when I was trying to right click on a bank teller more times than I can count. The old version still plays on Windows 7 and at this moment, the new version is actually a downgrade.

Ok so I never write reviews, but I am writing this simply because this game deserves to have positive feedback.
Ok so, if you are new to the whole "THE SHIP" thing then please check out the original "The Ship Murder Party" watch gameplay on Yputube.
Its easy to say the concept is not only unique but EXTREMELY fun and addicting.
The Ship Remasted is a HD rendition of the 2006 The Ship Murder Party.
This game is in EARLY EARLY Alpha, so I suggest buying this game ONLY for support purposes at this moment.
Online multiplayer only allows 4 players, more players on LAN i think, and there are no bots at this time.
The Ship is EXTREMELY fun when the map is full of people, with only 4 players it becomes a deathmatch style game, and that isnt the gold of what The SHip is,
As far as what I have played so far, the game is coming along nicely, although I wish they didnt release it just yet, only until we can get more than 4 players.
I bought this to support it, and I been hoping on everyday for a few rounds (people are on testing it) and its fun and keeps you on your toes.
Keep your eyes on this game, its going to get great and get great fast.

The Ship: Remasted is a SUPER fun game if you play it with friends... HOWEVER...
you need to play this game with a group of friends of at least 3 or more, otherwise it gets boring quickly with the AI's.
If you bought the original before the remastered version came out, sad to say, there are no existing servers for that one.
There ARE servers for this version, but last time i checked, VERY FEW.
UNLESS IF YOU KNOW HOW TO CREATE A SERVER FOR THIS GAME, I DO NOT RECOMEND YOU BUY THIS.
sadly, the devs. are barely doing anything to improve on this game now. so I really don't see any point in puchasing this unless if they start updating it a LOT more.
I am a huge fan of the original game, and i was sad to find out that the remasted version is the exact same thing, but with just less features. Doors do not open and close, the game is buggy at times, and there is no elevator in the game yet.
I ONLY RECOMENND YOU PURCHASE IF YOU HAVE A LARGE GROUP OF FRIENDS THAT:
1)Knows how to start a server (lan or online)
and
2)Are willing to play this game as it currently is

It's like the ship with less features, less maps, less immersion, no pools, runs worse and can't close doors. Overall a worse game.
The devs should have created a new master server for the original instead.

It used to be a good game. This version is pretty much unplayable. You can't create your own server that your friends can join. The game glitches and you can no longer do anything. All in all, the game is now worthless and horrible. 10/10 do not recommend.

I'm convinced the Ship is just a cursed game that is never going to have a living multiplayer scene, no matter how many free keys the then current IP holder hands out to everyone. It's a fun game, but unfortunately there is no one there to play it with, so I don't exactly recommend this over the original, the devs seemed to have abandoned it...
I guess it was never meant to be.

The doors does not work after 1 year of complaining.
Goddamn fix those doors and we'll have a decent game here. The maps are not polished either to the same lvl as in the original.
Until then I'll stick with the original which is still golden.

This game I have been waiting for since June of 2015. I got The Ship Original in May of 2015. I have played about 30 Hours of the Original, and I LOVED it. When this new game came out, I was very exicted and when i played the game for the first time, I didnt like the layout of the screen. You couldnt see the name of your own charcater until you pressed TAB. You couldnt even use a Gun weapon. Now, I understand that this game is only in like 0.7 Alpha, and I know that the whole game isnt complete. Anyway, I LOVE the textures and the some of the New SFX. I would like to see this game's full version and I recommended this game to a friend and he is going to buy it soon!

As others have said, Blazing Griffin appears to have more or less abandoned The Ship: Remasted (their last patch was February 10, 2017). It remains an incomplete and imperfect port of the original Ship.
Not only are there numerous technical issues, the player base is nonexistent. On a good day you might find one or two other players online, but hardly enough to fill a server.
Stay away from this "remaster" and buy the original instead.

This game used to be in early access. Now we are at version 1.3
The game keeps getting better and better by every update.
Now all we need is an active playerbase.
Even still its great fun at lanparties.

As a huge fan of the original game I was excited to back this early access project a while ago. Unfortunately, for some reason this game's rollout was a total bomb and not one person has been seen playing the game since I bought it months ago, and there's no sign of that ever improving.
Waste of money, stay away.

This game is still in pre version 1 Alpha, however, the leaps graphically are absolutely fantastic. Now the first game I ever owned on Steam was The Ship, bought it on a CD at GameStop the year it came out. I trust this developer to work on this game continuously. Let's all raise a 1930s Crystal Glass to the future of The Ship!

Although it lacks a few features from the original, it still makes a good game and is a lot of fun.
The primary lacking features are the lack of ability to grab only a drink straight from the kitchen. The reason this is a problem is because since your "Thrist" meter rises quicker than your "Hunger" meter, you're forced to go to a shop and spend money you might not have on hand to refill your thirst. Or you could grab from the kitchen anyway and very quickly need to use the restroom, and then shower/wash your hands. The whole process making you rather vulnerable and being a bit of a hassle.
The second primary lacking feature is the fact that elevators simply do not work. There are still elevator shafts, implying that at some point they intend to reimplement them, but as of posting this (April 4, 2018), there are still no elevators, just elevator shafts. The reason this is a problem is because, from a gameplay perspective, elevators were a good way to get alone with your quarry to hunt them down, if incredibly obvious. From a logical perspective, it's really silly that a ship has a non-functioning elevator shaft for all of their passengers.

Pretty disappointing. I loved the original ship and getting a game of this going properly is awesome fun.
This "remake" isn't even that. It has bought/borrowed the original game with the promise of updating it over time but there are two problems with that.
1. There isn't enough new/different content yet to even release it as a different game that is paid for.
2. Updates aren't happening.
All in all, I'm a bit annoyed, I paid money for essentially what I have in my Steam Library already.
This needs a lot of work to get anywhere remotely decent but I suspect quick cash in on nostalgic plebs like me. I fell for the trap. :P

More or less just a port to a stranger engine.
Less options.
Less players (factor in the original game has no servers left).
Crazy eye shaders that don't look human
Less bots to fill a server
You'll notice Trump and HIlary are plastered on most of the promo art, so you can bet they were merely trying to ride the meme trend of the elections to sell this game.
Everything about this game is oversaturated, there's NOTHING new.
On the bright side you get The Ship, the source Engine version, the good version, for free by buying this so.
This ship sank before it left the docks.

Fun game. Better being "remastered". It seems a bit shy of players. As the Ship franchise always has. But there are plenty of servers to pick from and the devs are working on getting player run dedicated servers out. As well as optimizations for performance. The devs are rather active in working on this game(look at the discussions) and making improvements based on the response from the community.
PLUSSSSS Who dosen't love beating Hillary Clinton to death with a croquet club? Thats what dreams are made of!!!
8/10 Worth the purchase.

What is The Ship:Remasted? Well it sertainly gave this game some life. I really enjoy rhis game. I did see some minor improvements just like they said they were going to be adding. Now I want to go over some Pros and Cons for this game I have experienced for playing this game the first time. Also I did play the original so I know. for this stage in early access here are some pros and cons.
Pros:
1 incredible Badass Graphics.
2 New minor updates that bring new life to the game
3 overall a lot of fun to play.
Cons:
1 Bugs and frame lag
2 Limited Features (Will get fixed soon)
3 Glitches with interface when playing the game
4 More Bugs
5 Sometimes when you die your screen goes completely black and it does not want you to exit the game
Anyway these are some of the pros and cons I got for the game at this current stage? So is it worth buying it at this stage? Well when you get it for a deal like I got it for 40% off and you can get it for 15% go ahead and do it. The game will improve and I can't wait to see what happens when it leaves Early Access. If you have to pay 20 bucks I would wait a couple more weeks to see if anything has improved unless you want it that badly. Great game 9.5/10 Would play again.

This game is not at all worth the money, even when there is a large sale going on. The game concept is good, but it is bad for several reasons. One, some of your needs in the game have to be replenished way too often. Single player isn't fun, interesting, or entertaining in any way. You might be thinking, "Okay, I'll just do multiplayer." But there basically is no mulltiplayer, because all the multiplayer servers are filled with bots, but very few human players. I'm telling you, this game is a huge waste of money, even when there is a large sale going on. Don't buy this game.

Now, I've never played the original ship game so I'm not sure how it compares, but for what I've played it's really fun! I couldn't see any massive issues, thought there were a few little things that could be fixed such as NPCs blocking you and sometimes it doesn't get your weapon out when you try to, but those are more nitpicks than anything. Unfortunately, the game is a bit dead and you can rarely find another real person to play online with unless you play with your friends, but playing singleplayer with AI is fun enough anyway.
7.5/10: Could use some more polish, but still a very fun game!

Review as of 7/1/16
Read update at bottom of review.
When I saw this game on steam, I was hoping for something that could replicate the experience of the original ship, but with a more polished engine and with better graphics. While the gameplay itself has stayed true, in it's current state I cannot recommend this game due to how unpolished it feels.
Firstly, it runs at ~50 fps on my 980ti on high settings. (Could be CPU bound, but I have an FX-8320 clocked at 4.2ghz which should be sufficient anyways). The settings menu is a total disappointment. You have resolution, fullscreen/windowed (doesn't even support borderless windowed natively), and low/medium/high. At least it has an option to select which monitor to run it on, but you can't even tweak individual settings.
It runs on Unity which is only a disappointment because I became accustomed to the actual functionality of the original Source/GoldSrc engine game. The lack-luster console and settings menus that result from not using the Source engine are a big let down in my eyes. At least it supports linux as a result.
Also, the mouse sensitivity resets sometimes during gameplay and you have to open the menu back up to fix it which is ridiculously annoying.
Right now the game just feels like a down-grade with prettier graphics. As of 7/1/16 I have to recommend the original game over this, despite having to use an external server browser to play the original it still feels like a more polished experience. The gameplay and art is there, hopefully once better settings are implemented, quirks are worked out, and at least a half-assed attempt at optimization is made then I'll be able to recommend it, but for now the original is a much stronger experience.
UPDATE (3/30/17): So people in the comments got pissy about me playing a game for .2 hours, even though it's just a remaster of an existing game, which makes no sense. Gameplay is what you'd expect of The Ship. To people blaming a CPU that can run every VR game I threw at it with 90+ fps, I did upgrade my CPU. I have a 6700k and a 980ti now and the game still runs like trash, I'm averaging 80-90 fps. There's some weird mouse smoothing that makes aiming feel sluggish and terrible, there's still no borderless windowed mode. Hell, I couldn't even get windowed mode to work, it just kept reverting back to fullscreen. Buy the original ship, that game is a classic and is great fun with a group of friends. It brought a new style of gameplay to the FPS genre and still holds up over a decade later. This game looks prettier, but just runs terribly on high-end hardware and lacks the settings that the source engine offers. And yes, complaining about a lack of settings because it is in a different engine is a valid complaint. Buy the original ship, it's incredibly fun.
And by the way I did have a reason for buying a 8320, I needed a budget CPU for rendering, which benefitted from having more cores. And that CPU runs every game fine if it's made by experienced developers.

I haven't played too much of this game, but from what I can tell so far, it is a great remake of the original The Ship: Murder Party. The game of course has some flaws, being in early access is all. I feel like there is a lack of certain weapons that add to the fun and variety of the original game. I know, however, that they are still adding in new weapons, so it is likely that this review itself will be dated within a few weeks. But onto the point once again, if you're a fan of the old The Ship, then it might be worth it just to buy this new game for the updated graphics and engine. And if maybe you needed a little something more from the original The Ship, then this game might interest you too, as there are plenty of seperate game modes being made. The game had a 15% discount at launch, and if you own The Ship: Murder Party, then another 25% stacks on, making the game 40% off at time of purchase, so it's definitely worth the purchase.

Something tells me this game is still a little broken now. I can hit a dude 10 times with a claymore and he didn't die.
I get hit once by Claymore and die from anyone else. I walked up to my friend who wasn't even moving and hit him 6 times. The six hit was the only one that connected. HE WASN'T EVEN MOVING so its not like I was missing him. It feels like the game just randmomly decides when you're actually going to connect with your attacks. So I tried to host a server (maybe it was just my connection to the server) Friend tried to join my server. His game crashed.

The original version of The Ship was original and full of charm, somewhat of a cult classic in my eyes. A remake is not a bad idea - bringing the style to a new engine and for a new audience - but the execution here is lackluster. A lot of it comes from both the lack of support and the limited content. The former is self explanatory, as the game has received little in the way of updated since its release from Early Access. But it is the lack of content that hurts it. It contains only the offline bot matches and the now limited online community, not helped by its still limited map selection with little in the way of new content. It is a shame, because it is clear the developers had passion for the project. But for some reason, Remasted feels like it sunk before too long.

Buggy as hell. Pretty close to original gameplay, but needs a lot of polish. Get it if its on sale and you have faith that the devs will clean up real well. Otherwise, $20.00 for an alpha is pretty steep. I'll check in on it every now and then.

Now, a lot of people have been leaving bad reviews for this game, but it's not as bad as people have been saying. Sure, there's the odd feature here and there that people don't like, but the main issue people hav is with the lack of people in servers. All this game needs to fix that is to get more people playing. And guess what? You can help with that by buying the game and playing! The ship has something for everyone. Want to sneak around and kill the other players without getting caught? You can! Want to run around on a murderous rampage and kill everyone you see? You can! And, as it's bundled in with the original version of the ship, you can play the story mode, too! Even if no one's online, you can always play with bots, so you don't need anyone else to play it with. I'd rate this game 8/10, well worth a buy, especially when on sale.

So, I've Thought about this, and my recommendation is to not buy the game yet, for it is in to early of a state to play. They did what they wanted, i mean even read the description!
“We're conscious that remaking a game such as The Ship is a delicate process, so we wanted to build the core game and get it in front of fans of The Ship to see what they think. We've made a number of minor changes from the original and would like to take player feedback on these."
But, the game is way too buggy and sorry to say but not fun enough to play as of yet. If you get attacked in the game, no sound, so you don't know your being attacked. The textures are almost the same, except for a ton of polishing, which is extremely nice, they look brand new! But that seems to be all that they have added so far... The models are essentially the same, and the weapon textures seem to be as well. The game is TOO EARLY for the time it has been MADE in.
We do really want a ship remastered. But what we don't want to see is, The Shit Remastered... Get it? There needs to be more work done for this game, so as of now, i will stay updated, and i will 100% change my review as soon as this stuff is fixed! Also, AI does not function as well as it should. And multiplayer SUCKS! Extremely hard to play, and connect. Anyway, i say goodbye to this game until the next update.
So stay tuned in, for this review should change...

The Ship : Murder party was one of my favourite multiplayer games so I'm glad it got an improved successor in The Ship : Remasted.
I love its original gameplay, in which you don't kill everybody but rather only your target (although you will suspect everybody to be chasing you in return).
It's probably not easy to get into it at first. What helped me at the time was that I played The Ship : single player, which was for me like a big tutorial... So afterwards I was quickly operational in multiplayer games.

I was always a fan of the first game and decided to support the developers by buying this game in early access. The remastered version upgrades the visuals a lot which is a good thing in my opinion.
The game needs some work in terms of stability (it lags a bit), but is otherwise a pretty good game. I have faith in the developers and I think they will be able to turn this into a proper game. Keep it up!
If you were a fan of the first game, I'd definitely recommend this. However, keep in mind that it needs some work and that it is not a final product.

I found the game fun when i bought it but i had expected a full remaster of the single player campaign and the multiplayer or atleast a "Sequel" campaign to the original being made. Now for the multiplayer however features such as the traps like the sauna and freezers are not included in the game and it feels like all the features of the original were not revived. I wish they would work on the game mode and update it with a campaign etc. but for now i don't advise buying it and sadly i don't see the people who remastered this doing so either.

Well well well
Game is dead, if you wanna play a multiplayer game for 20EUR with bots go ahead.
Just check forums, people are desperately trying to find someone to play with.
Developers didn't learn anything from the original and follow exact same trap.
Shame.

Well I'm a massive fan of the original so had to pick this up straight away.
Currently the game is in a very buggy state and there are no dedicated servers, but it's really nice to see that the devs are working very hard to create a completely upgraded version of the original Ship that feels exactly the same.
I'll be checking in regularly, thanks so much for doing this!
**Also, sad as it is to say, I reckon even the most basic of progression would help to capture more players for longer when this game fully releases, just a thought.

This game is very experimental right now, due to the fact that it is being developed by a small indie developer, however, I beileve that this game will at one point be the paranoia inducing murder fest that was the Ship: Murder Party.

This is a fresh take on an old game that was popular in my youth: The Ship. I never played the original but they certainly did the reboot justice. It has that same....classic....old timey...pre WW1 feel. ( plus the songs are catchy! especially " Hello Georgie!")
I highly recommend it!

This game & the original game are both in my 100 games you have to play before you die list.
So, first of all, both this remaster and the original game are CHARMING! Also the concept of hunt mode is very unique and very interesting! You have to play it at least once, even if you will not get back to it later. As of me, I've finished the original game's story mode twice already (yes, that's how much I loved it), and keep playing hunt mode via this remaster from time to time.
This remaster is a visually enhanced version of an original game The Ship: Murder Party. Both are must to be played! Ignore those who say the game is dead and that this remastered version is bad because the doors are not functioning as in the original, although it's true this remaster is missing 2 very cool features (functioning doors & elevators) of the original, it shouldn't stop you from enjoying a truly unique gameplay of this gem.
I suggest you start with the story mode (single player) of the original game, then try the arcade mode of this remaster and then jump into a server hoping that there are some real humans playing there.
Regarding this remaster - it is actually a good one - it supports more platforms, it has better graphics (although the original looks great too the remaster looks even better), it has working servers, it allows you to play with bots locally - in short, it really let's you play the hunt mode of the game today, as the original is only playable in story mode.
Is it missing something from the original? Oh yes - as mentioned before, being able to open/close the doors is a very nice feature of the original game which is missing in the remaster. Also, interactive elevators are just so cool and add so much fun to the original that it's a pity they're missing in the remaster. However, it doesn't kill the game and it doesn't make it a bad remaster, it's just a trade off as of now, which hopefully will be fixed by developers. Still, the only way to play The Ship in Hunt mode with bots or with real humans is by installing the remaster version, so it does it's job!

Was a pain. By the time I actually got to play the game, I was frustrated and annoyed. Playing the game is fun, but not for long. You’ll run around never seeing who you’re looking for, or if you do, you get killed right away, have weapons that don’t work, or pass out.

It's hard to explain, but the remastered version just doesn't have the same feel as the original. While it is definitely a graphical improvement, the passing of the remastered version is just off enough where it just feels like a bad rip-off of the original The Ship. If you haven't played before, I highly suggest playing the original.
