A beautifully made puzzle game. Woodblock-styled art and woodwind themed music, together with a fun game mechanic make a really excellent package. Something significant to note are the achievements - they were a treat. Be sure not to cheat!

Incredipede is basically a functional and fun version of QUAP. This is one of the coolest paltformers I've ever played, because unlike other games of type you can't just hold down right arrow key and expect you creature to reach the end of the level. With every creature you have to sit down and figure out how to actually move it's body. I really annoyed making sense of the seemingly random movements of the more complex pre-made creatures. And let's not forget Incredipedes unique art style. You don't get to see animated wood cut illustrations every day. Thomas Shahan, who was the artist for this game, really deserves a giant bag of cookies. And the same goes for Colin Northway, who programmed this game in flash! I never would have thought that a flash game could look this well and still run at a consistent framerate. Note that the base game isn't all that long. It took me 2h to clear all levels(60) in normal mode(normal - play with pre-made creatures, hard design your own creatures). But there's always community levels if you crave more Incredipede action. So if length is a factor for you when it comes to this kind of games you have been warned.

Incredipede is all about creating a creature that can move over various obstacles. It's all about experimenting. One of the best parts is getting to show other players your own originality and creativity with your designs. It is a completely kid-friendly game, as well...so the whole family can enjoy it! +They are 3-4 sets with ~50 levels. You can finish any level with a ready "monster" or making your owns. +They have a level-editor too. *After ending all levels appeared a new buttom- it is a achievement-link/window. My score:73%

Incredipede is very interesting and can actually get pretty fucking hard. I honestly didn't pay attention to the story, which involves 2 cutscenes or so I think. You basically have to solve each level with 2 to 4 buttons. While it sounds simple, it gets you thinking in some of the harder levels. Then in hard mode you actually have to create limbs and muscles to make your creation move through the level to the end. Each level is really short, and most of the time is spent just trying to figure out how to complete each level. There is also a sandbox / level editor mode that lets you create your own levels and share them online. You can also select levels and rate them from other users. Overall its a short cute little game with some replay value if you like tinkering with level editors. Glad I bought it! Edit: Spell correction! :(

This is a puzzle game where you as the player have to attempt to move a monster or whatever that is to predetermined targets in specific map. Sounds easy but it is not. The good: beautiful graphics, fitting music. For those that like games where the difficulty likes on precise manouvering, this is a good game. The bad: controls can be frustrating, especially if you are not into games of the similar genre, gets some time getting used to. Summary: good game that will keep you occupied provided you do not mind the learning curve and the difficult controls. Rating: 8/10.

Strange anti-colonialist messages aside, the play value of this game is incredi-ble. I don't feel like there's tons of replay value once you've beaten it, but if you like to try to do better than your previous efforts or make your own puzzle levels then you may get more of your money's worth out of it. Having said that, my daughter likes to play this game and I think it's been semi-educational. The achievements are interesting and intended to inspire people to get out and interact with nature. I got it on sale, but would probably spend full price on it if that were the only option available to me. I like it.

This is one of the stranger games you can play. You traverse through various levels using creatures made up of "legs" and "muscles". At the start these are all creatures designed by the developer but later you make your own. I found it to be a very interesting concept but the design was lacking. Creatures just don't behave like anything you would expect and getting them to do what you want is a chore. It can become quite frustrating at times. Designing them sounds like fun but making anything with some complexity is quite difficult. I really can't recommend this to the general gaming community but I still found it a worthwhile distraction so some small minority will likely enjoy it to some degree as well. Overall a nice attempt with an interesting concept that just doesn't quite come together.

It's QWOP with a dash of Spore, and is really rather charming. :3 Incredipede is a QWOP-like physics puzzle game where you play as a strange creature named Quozzle, a greenish eyeball creature that is on a quest to find her family after invaders stole everyone in her village except her. She can grow as many muscles and limbs as she needs in order to climb, squirm, and crawl her way through various physics puzzles to collect items and get to the end. It's a really rather relaxed little game that requires a fair bit of critical thinking to coordinate your limbs, meaning most of your time in each level will be partially figuring out how to move, and partially figuring out how to get the fruit and other collectibles. Hint - the level names often give you an idea of what to do to get the collectible. Even when the game got surprisingly challenging at times, I found myself perfectly chill without feeling too frustrated, making this a good game to relax with for me. You can even explore by creating your own creatures in the sandbox, and you can make your own levels and share them, which gives even more to do. There's also two difficulty levels, with Hard being the one where you create your own creatures to solve the puzzles, and Normal being the one where you just need to figure out how the creature moves to get what you want. Both experiences are excellent fun. The art style is just gorgeous. Seriously, the woodblock style gives the game a "rustic" feel that just seems to fit the themes and ideas of the game well. Looking at this game is a treat, and the music also helps with that, using a palette of Afro-Caribbean type drumbeats and flutes that seems to fumble and clunk in the same way your curious little abomination does. The result is charming and chill, giving an aesthetic I really, truly dig in smaller titles like this one. And as for the achievements, the game does something really rather novel, asking the player to put the game down and go explore their own world away from the screen. I suppose some might find that a little pretentious, but it somehow just feels right for this game to encourage that. Besides, when was the last time you really went outdoors and stopped to appreciate nature? Really? All in all, a bit short and maybe a little overpriced at $10; I'd recommend buying this on sale, but however you get it, get this game if you like physics puzzlers and beautiful artwork with a chill vibe. It's utterly delightful. :)

Going to give this a tepid recommendation, but only if you're looking for something very simple and brisk (normal difficulty). I've played plenty of great puzzle games where you simply have to collect some stuff and move a fairly short distance to the end, but this one falls short of most of them. The game's main issue is that the more interesting mode (hard, where you actually construct limb arrangements from scratch), doesn't have much of a difficulty curve. Though setting up the limbs isn't difficult, the 'muscle' controls are nuanced, and the game doesn't do a whole lot to introduce you to arrangements you'll need to crawl, climb, etc. The result is that (again, on hard), you'll end up flailing around pretty helplessly most of the time. It's unfortunate, because this could have been remedied pretty easily with an instructional level here or there on hard mode, and the design is pretty unique. As others have mentioned, the art, sound, etc are all solid; just lacking polish in the gameplay department.

This is a strange but endearing little puzzle game with an interesting control scheme that feels a bit like QWOP. The levels are all very short but gradually increase in complexity and difficulty, and while it can be a challenge to obtain some of the collectibles needed to progress to the next world, I never found myself too frustrated with the experience. It was also really cool that all of the achievements are things you do in the real world (unless you just want to lie and claim them all immediately). It's always nice to discover a unique game like this, and I'm glad I had Incredipede to keep me entertained for an afternoon.

This is the exact definition of incrediphillia. One of the best indie games on steam without a doubt. There are no physic engine based games that can compare to Incredipede. I'm sure most of you have played some sort of flash game some place where the whole point is to create some sort of contraption, building, or any kind of construct. What I think makes this stand apart from the rest is the mere fact you create a simple character with odd physics, like some sort of construct, with movable parts. You are really only limited to your own imagination. You can create pretty gnarly stuff and get through the various levels. The game itself has some replayability as well. The game allows you to do the levels on Easy, which gives you a premade design to finish the levels, and then you have the Hard mode, which starts you off with the base of the character Quozzle, which is just her round eye. By the way, when you finish the game, don't fret. There is a level editor included in the game. You can create some fun levels and you can share them with your friends as well. I really can't think of any negative things the game has. It is a pretty solid title, and I believe the price is just right for such a game. With that I say, whatever you do this Summer, it won't be as fun as Incredipede. All bugs wish they could have as many limbs as the gal in this game. Every purchase of this game helps fund research for limb growth of bugs, so open those wallets to make their life easier.

For a more more comprehensive look at the game, check out my full review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UzWdB-_UqY&list=PLL85hnAQWvK_ngPUzs74SUCYFtIiONnH3&index=5 Incredipede is a fun physics puzzle game about a strange organism on herjourney to rescue her people from enslavement. You'll be challenged to build the most efficient creature to beat all the levels and the posibilities are limited only by you imagination. Admittedly the game isn't very complex. Once you get the hang of controling Quozzle and building new forms for her, you'll go as far as you'll get in the inovation department, but there are an enormous amount of levels and countless ways to design new incedipedes that the game doesn't lose its edge. If you like physics platformers, this is a good one.

You get to finish puzzles based on movement and physics with different creatures made from a head and several limbs. You also get to create those creatures before a level starts in the hard mode and there's also a sandbox mode where you can create you own creatures, levels and challenges. The visuals are pretty enticing but when the entire game is based on struggling with controls (and rage-quits) and bare bones game modes and challenges, I really don't feel like this game can be recommended. Music is bland and everything outside the singular creature designs and possibilities factor are pretty run of the mill as well. I was pretty amused with it for the first 50 levels but by god I'm definitely going to finish the entire 120-or-so levels or even recommend the game to anybody else. You'll find much better puzzle + pretty games out there believe me. Keep searching.

You might be looking at this game and thinking "Wow, that's one unique game!", but the most unique aspect of this game is that the achievements ask you to do things in the real world. This game wants you to go outside and explore your own backyard. It wants you to look closely at the insects and plants that you probably haven't looked at since you were very young kids. That is amazing. I recommend taking a break to do an achievement anytime you get stuck on a level, and then go back to laughing out loud at the acrobatics of your creature. Pros: - You can skip any level by simply clicking on the next level instead (in map view). - Skipped levels do not stop you from completing the 'world'. You do however need to get a minimum number of tokens, the counters for which are clearly displayed on the map screen. - Each time there is a change to your method of movement, the game clearly displays this at the bottom of the screen, both with words and with images of the buttons which can now be used. - The story line is fun, though not very original. - The artwork is quirky and original, with more effort and detail than it seems at first glance. - The method for propelling your incredipede is amusing, and only the tinsiest bit frustrating. - The game allows you to build your own levels and create your own monstrosities. - Each level ends in a tidy screen which gives details such as how long it took, the configuration of your incredipede, tokens collected/missed, and also has the ability for you to rewatch your attempt, and a button that (in theory) helps you look for solutions other people have come up with (I haven't used this feature, so I'm not 100% on it). Cons: - Honestly this game would be far too complicated for most children, and for people with limited attention spans or low tolerance for frustration.

This game is a fun casual with a unique take on the, "awkward flopping around" genre. It's similar to Beseiged, but with a much more better art style. It's worth buying just to check out the art, the surprisingly fun gameplay is a nice bonus.
DISCLAIMER: This is a full review, and NOT a first impressions review
Incredipede is a game developed by Colin Northway with art by Thomas Shahan and published by Northway Games The game offers some nice graphics and a good aesthetic that really brightens and makes the game stand out and unique The game does suffer with some repetitiveness at certain areas of the game but an okay game nonetheless and ends just at the right time Incredipede overall, however, is a fun game to play, yet sometimes repetitive and it does get boring if being played for a long time, but is an good casual indie game to play in short bursts! A fun little game, Some levels can make you think how to actually complete it 100% if you build it yourself which is a nice challenge. I find it more fun when playing with your partner or friends. It can get a little repetetive but since I got in in a humble bundle I can't complain that it wasn't worth it. 7/10

Now, this is some sweet art design. Northway games managed to make a giant eyeball creature with loosely attached sinews and boney limbs into a sympathetic, endearing character. The 2D artwork is stunning. The gameplay? Meh. Lots of plodding, trial-n-error puzzles. However, the levels are bite-sized and fun to tackle a few at a time.

Heh, this is a neat game. The first load of levels have pre-made Incredipedes, which are oddly made creatures which require careful and dextrous use of the controls to use. Later levels make you have to make your own to solve the levels, which is really awesome and tough.

7/10 This was an enjoyable game full of little "aha!" moments every time I figured out how to make the newest creature move forward. The art and music is lovely and the gameplay is challenging enough to be fun but not so challenging it makes you tear your hair out. However, it is a very abrupt game with little to no replay value.

I played it on hard in a single weekend. Kinda felt 9,90 was steep for that. I expected it to have double the levels. I think it said 150 levels but they are tiny few minute puzzles. I would have liked to see larger levels also. Apart from that, it's a very polished (a bit grim) and well tought game. I also got it for android but found it almost impossible to play on a Galaxy S4. It requires a lot of intricate controlling that touch just doesnt provide.

I would recommend this game, but only when it's on sale. Or if you're a millionaire and just don't care. The game itself is pretty fun, although it can get frustrating. Sometimes it feels a bit like QWOP, but your actions are more successful. It has two modes, the standard one where you play with a creature that was already made, and hard in which you can make your own creatures. I haven't played the hard mode. I suppose half of the fun is creating your own levels and creatures, and if you're not the creative type, reeeaally think twice before buying. It's very short, so if you're not into making content, you'll be done with it pretty quickly. It also hardly has any story, the whole thing is like two cutscenes right at the start and at the end, and it's pretty anticlimactic. But the art is really nice, and the music as well, although it strangely turns off and on randomly, I don't know. Oh, and it has stupid achievements. I remembered when I was adding the tag "casual" (it does feel like it), it has a tag "easy achievements". Easy? Nope. They're not in-game, they're like "go outside and let a bug walk on your hand". All of them, six or something, are outsidey, and almost all involve interacting with insects. I mean well, nature, okay, that's nice, but, you know, tell that to someone with arachno- or entomophobia. So, all in all, if you like creating your own content after you're done with the basic game (or even don't care about the gameplay), it's probably gonna be great for you. If not though, think it through and maybe wait for a sale.

Incredipede was interesting. The puzzles were fun and difficult at times, and the idea of using the incredipede was fun. However after several levels, it became sadly similar. twist this way, fall that way... Twist that way, fall this way. The visuals were wonderfully unique... The incredipede itself was fun to look at and the world was very appealing. All in all, if you've got a few extra bucks it's a fun time killer, but I don't know if we have anything ground breaking here.

Quite interesting concept and very well developed. Loved the relaxing bgm and the achievements' idea. The gameplay: Basically, you need to learn how to move the creature around and reach the goal, making the puzzles consist more on getting the items on the stages (so you can proceed to another world) than clearing the stage itself. On hard mode, you also need to build the incredipede's body to make it functional and clear the level. Some creatures are real challenging and frustrating to move at first but once you get the hang of them, you have quite some fun. There's also a sandbox mode where you can create your own creature and a level editor. It's too short, so it's more like a casual-type. The story: After her village is attacked and her sisters captured, little Quozzle tries to find another village of incredipedes, rumored to be on the other side of the island. Note: 7/10

First of all, the video is a little bit confusing. Both me, and my friends thought, that in this game you need to "build" your very own character to finish the level. This is only half of the truth, because it's only apply to hard levels. The game on Normal difficulty can be fininshed quite fast, which is sad because I've loved the game so far. Now I'm at the Hard levels, where you really can make your own increpiede after some levels. Nevertheless, it is a very good game. Amazing atmosphere and music, good graphics. And maybe most importantly, the various challenges.

Not really sure what to say about this game. On normal the game is fun with minimal challenges and only takes a few hours to beat. By the time you get to playing it on hard (where you actually create your own Incredipede) you're just kinda over it. The Steam Achievements are fake, you can just get them by buying the game. I bought it on sale for 3.40 and I wouldn't pay anymore than that for it. Overall, fun for a bit but not worth 9.99.

Wow a long time coming. I remember this on greenlight. Anyways, incredipede is essentially a weird slightly retarded SNES platformer on steriods. You control the contractions of muscles in a creature with numerous assemblages of legs and hands and such. It seems simple at first, but what you quickly learn is that you have to think about force, and how the muscles and legs interact to pull off increasingly complicated, but never quite exact muscle movements to move your incredipede between the stages. He also likes fruit! Incredipede is straddled between the think a lot strategies of Briad and the sheer virutosity of Mario, it requires reflexes and brains and a little patience. I wish some of the levels had a little more explanation or gave you ideas on how to move your incredipede, because the solution is not always obvious and you might find yourself mashing buttons to get the right movement, but if you take a little time to figure it out, and a little luck comes your way it'll be alright. I like this game because it teaches you to think in different ways and then employ those ideas reflexively. Few games out there marry intelligence and foresight with the stop goness of Mario Brothers. All in all a great game and compulsive once you get into it.

I thought, you build your creature and solve the level. On normal mode it's a physic game of skill with a predetermined creature. A casual game for only -very- few hours. Don't expect much and don't spend much money on that. Wait for sale! Only for 1€ you can't make much wrong. My rating 55/100, therefore 'thumbs up'. Less longtime motivation on that game. A very interesting and unique kind of game where you play a creature that can morph it's shape into all kinds of ways. It's really cool and a lot of fin, though beyond the gimmick the story is interesting, but it doesn't keep a good hold of my attention. It is a lot of fun. Edit: This game has a lot of promise at it's posting and being a fun little indy game it certainly deserves a lot of love. Especially considering it's a fun little experimental kind of game that big companies generally stay away from with the opinion of "Why work on something new, when the old formula still works?" and so the innovation here is a big breath of fresh air in a world where the gaming world is saturated with dull, grey, military shooters that are often just copies of eachother in most cases.

I am not sure I understand why there are so many positive reviews for this game. I enjoy physics based puzzle games because I can sit down and try and work out how to solve a level. That is not the case with this game. Each level is mostly just smashing the keys until you get your creature to randomly move through the level. Frustrating and completely unenjoyable.

Visually appealing, simple and (relatively) intuitive gameplay and puzzles. However, feels a lot like something I'd find as a flash game. Mechanics are fairly limited, puzzles get repetitive eventually, and loses a lot of its replayability pretty quickly. Whelp. I've barely begun this romp and I can tell you, this is a laugh and a half. The physics is pretty basic, but the puzzles present enough of a challenge that you can feel a sense of accomplishment. The constant (so far) sepia tones are a bit stale and devigorating, but asides from that the graphics are sound. The music is rather boring, so mute it and play your own in the background.

Incredipede is fun and challenging all in the right places. It was fun figuring out the best way to move in order to get to the end point while collecting all the items. It was challenging for me to find out what kind of creature I have to create in order to finish each level. And if that isn't enough for you the game even has a level editor where you can make your own levels and share with other people! Just make sure that you play through the regular levels first because it teaches you a lot of the interesting mechanics the game has to offer. Only then can you excel in the hard mode and in level editor.

I do not at all recommend this game. It is broken and way too short. When I contacted the developer on this matter he became flippant and rude with me. Save your money and buy something worth while.
