The World is very pretty. Bosses are fun. Combos potential, a lot. Upgrades that change your playstyle, a lot. Forgetting about your combos and upgrades, happens a lot. I love this game. Makes me want to finish the other Metroidvania games I forgot about. Don't forget to try out the Demo before buying.

the game in general is nice and has everything a metroidvania should have. however one of the key features of a metroidvania is exploring and re-exploring areas after acquiring new abilities, and this is harshly hampered in tevi through the ambundant use of one-way-gates. if you enter a room and the minimap shows you 5 connections to other rooms, you can savely assume that 4 of those are one-way-gated and thus not useable. meaning you have to exit the way you entered. this is done by not giving you the ability to drop through platforms. at all. or by putting blocks in the way that have to be cleared from the other side (also those blocks won't stay cleared). this not only means you will have to take, often times lengthy, detours just to enter the adjacent room, but you'll also have to take those detours when you've accidentally jumped through one of said one-way-gates :) hope you like the scenery, you'll see it plenty. another annoyance is the use of blind jumps/falls. combined with the aforementioned one-way-gates, you can see why this is bad. my third grievance lies with the ridiculous amount of hidden pathways that stay hidden, even after using them. so not only do you have to deal with the one-way-gates but also one-way-gates that are hidden behind some random hidden path that does it's damnedest to stay that way: hidden TLDR: be aware that this metroidvania is doing everything possible to make the metroidvania-part of the game as cumbersome and unfun as possible.

An absolutely lovely game leaning more towards its bullet-hell side than metroidvania side. Endearing characters that make the story quite enjoyable. The voice acting is exceptionally well done too. Fun, action packed gameplay with a surprisingly deep combat system. It can easily overwhelm some people, but I love it. Very well done pixel art in both the foreground and background, helping make the world feel alive. Each character's cut-in art is high quality to match. And last, but certainly best: the music. Amazing compositions that are wholly unique between each area. Each song adds a great amount of personality to the game in all aspects as a perfect cherry on top.

Great game. Moral of the Story: Don't Simp. Simping will lead to bad times & bad times are created by weak men who simp.

would highly reccomend. gameplay wise its like a more structured, story focused, rabi ribi. And whilst i would say the game has many more flaws than rabi ribi, being able to compare it to rabi ribi in the first place on more than just 'it plays similarly' should be indicative of how the game is in fact pretty solid The game is also in a WAY healthier state than on release. A bunch of my major gripes with it have been patched, most notably the game's difficulty doesnt drop off a cliff towards the end, there are no longer random crumble blocks everywhere to piss the player off in later areas, MISTY MAZE IS NO LONGER SATANIC TO DEAL WITH IN 100% (oh and dreamers keep got a new gimmick which uhhhh...... appreciated and i like it alot but the gimmick itself feels kinda pointless). Game certainly does still have its issues, exploration feels somewhat weak and can be frustrating with how many items you can visibly see, know exactly what upgrade you need, but wont be able to access due to not having progressed far enough in the story. The story itself also becomes somewhat predictable and somewhat samey in the second half, or completely blindsides you with something you could have never seen coming. There are exceptions to this however and said exceptions are pretty great. Oh also theres licensed music. Whilst the licensed tracks are fine, the streamer mode original tracks are all (at least in my opinion) either sidegrades or direct upgrades, which is to be expected because just like cre-spirit's other bullet hell projects such as rabi ribi or last command, the OST is absolutely divine, with everyone involved with the OST having cooked out of their fucking minds ok i could go on about more things i like / dislike but i will be here forever. game good go buy it give the devs your money they cooked pretty hard and im hopeful that the dlc will succeed harder in places where the main game did not.
Wonderful metroidvania!
I mean it! If you played hollow knight, you'll definitely like it! Huge variety of techniques and lots of bosses for people looking to pick a fight. Lots of locations to explore, with each one having it's own atmosphere. My favorite one was pink cherry forest with lots of bunnies jumping around, ah it's so peaceful... Quite well created story that will adapt to which place you decided to visit first. your choices won't affect the story. And of course lots of puzzles to solve. Looking forward to see more games from CreSpirit! Legendary creators of Rabi-Ribi!!!

I came from Rabi-Ribi and was pretty disappointed. I'd recommend checking it out before this to see if it's more of a match for you. Compared to Rabi-Ribi, a lot of things were improved like aerial-combos, ranged attacks, etc. And the CG and pixel art looks great, but there's a lot of downsides too. First, you are effectively railroaded to stick to the story, so there is almost no freedom. And if you do choose to explore, you'll likely have to walk all the way back once you reach something blocking your path you don't have skill for as punishment. Combined with a larger world, this gets pretty punishing to have to keep revisiting again. The story also felt super rushed at places, it was trying to be serious but it was as if it was trying to do too much. It would flop between friendly banter to heavy scenes without any buildup or anything, so there wasn't any reason to really feel anything for the characters. The character portrait art also juts out when compared to the CGs and pixel art for some reason, which breaks the flow a bit. Lastly, the music didn't feel varied or distinct enough, and at some point, they all kinda merged together.
