Ecosystem starts off strong: you plant some seaweed, unleash evolution… and then? You get sideways-sliding fish with flailing fins that seem to defy physics. The creatures evolve, sure, but often in ways that feel more awkward than awe-inspiring. And the creature editor? Like trying to build IKEA furniture without instructions—underwater. The concept is gold, but the execution ends up as a digital fish soup. A real shame, because this could’ve been something truly special.

On the surface the game seems like it would be sick as hell, but sadly it just shoots itself in the foot in so many ways. Your limited by what you can do in terms of creature customization and mutations, once a species is a certain type it can't ever evolve past it's ecological role, forever a prey animal or a bottom feeder or a "whale" as the game calls it. There's also an inevitable effect where all your ecosystems look the same plants and all your fish with the jank joints and physics do a little too much convergent evolution. Cool concept, just need to be polished a lot, I'd rather the devs just took another swing at the genre.

so this game is trying to be like games like species and sapling which suck for these reasons species no longer gets updates sapling everything converges to much and the way your given to make your own life forms are not good. This one does seem to have the first but not the second which is important. The creatures at first look odd and unrealstic but eventully you will get cool and more realstic life forms.they also dont only converge to like one body plan,That makes this better than sapling and also even tho creating creatures is almost impossible that does not matter as evolution aculy makes things that are cool and uneqe

This is a strange sandbox game. you can not make your own creatures and there is no end goal
