Wingspan: European Expansion

Wingspan:European Expansion is a fantastic addition to an already stellar game. The European expansion includes additional bonus cards and birds which can be used with the base game or other expansions. There are a few new mechanics that this expansion adds, all of which feel natural progression of ideas from the base game. The most obvious of these are the end round abilities that trigger at the end of each round- usually allowing the player to cache resources or lay additional eggs. Another unique addition is the ability to play a bird on multiple aviary slots, allowing players to obtain addition resources in that setting with needing to play an additional bird. Neither of these mechanics felt game breaking and again and helped spice things up. The most interesting addition in this expansion is an emphasis on tucking cards, likely in an attempt to make the Wetland engines more viable against Grassland builds (Greater Flamingo is my favorite bird for this by far) without making the game a rush to build up your Wetland engine. If you enjoy the base game, this expansion is a no brainer. Pick this up now!
