Taste of Adventure is the DLC for Parkitect. Principally, it adds 10 new scenarios, 2 new decoration themes, and a few new rides as well. PROS: +The new scenarios are creative. +The new scenarios are more challenging than the original campaign (though still pretty easy for experienced players). +Same fun coaster designing experience. +Game is as chill and relaxing as ever. CONS: -Many new scenarios have a goal of "no building things while paused." This was an interesting twist once or twice, but it was over-used. It became annoying because one of the strengths of the game is just playing in a very laid-back way, experimenting with different coaster designs and spending time creating buildings and decorations. This goal prevents that. -The new themes, while nice, exacerbate the already difficult to use item picker. It's still very easy to lose your place and spend far too long hunting around for that one wall type or object you just *know* is there but can't seem to find. A "favorites" or "similar items" grouping would go a long way to alleviate this. -Wish there were a few more scenarios included. Overall, definitely worth a purchase for Parkitect fans. I'm looking forward to another DLC pack and/or a full sequel!

I would say this DLC is a reasonable value for the price. Most of the game changing features (like ride photos, custom image signs, voucher promotions, overlapping staff zones, etc.) are included in the free portion of the update, so this is mostly assets and a new campaign. Still, the new assets are great, the Adventure theme is particularly flexible, and it really is sweet that Texel Raptor gave half an expansion away for free.

You can count me among the people who are extremely disappointed with the scenarios included in this expansion pack. I enjoy the park building aspect of the game. I'm not a huge fan of building roller coasters, though I can accept an occasional objective being to build one. The problem is, the scenarios in this expansion require that you build a boatload of different roller coasters. I was chugging through them, not really having any fun, when I got to the fifth scenario that not only requires you to build four additional coasters, but you have to do it with the game not paused. I'm sorry. That sounds like torture to me. So I essentially paid for four scenarios that I didn't enjoy, and I won't even be able to check out the remaining five because there is no way in heck I'm enduring the torture of having to build four perfect coasters in a limited time frame. Parkitect is a great game. Save your money, and avoid this expansion unless you really like building roller coasters.

The new maps are the main draw here, and they're pretty good. But I just found my enjoyment of them ruined by the really poor choice of objectives. They're just tedious, and I found it truly ruining my enjoyment of the otherwise good content. As someone who likes to spend a lot of time detailing and experimenting, I found "no pausing" especially ruined what I love about the campaign. Having the game put a big sad face and tell me I'm doing it wrong just made me not want to play. I love a challenging map but these aren't challenges. They force one play style and give no options for creativity in a creative game.

The new scenarios are pretty and the new decorations are fun to use. But the new challange, where you are not allowed to build while the game is paused is really annoying and is taking all the fun in building a beautiful park. You have very little time for building rides and decoration, also because of the tight time limits. I sometimes just randomly placed decorations all over the place resulting in really ugly parks. You don't even get time to optimize staff-paths or hide your depots. However, if you don't want to play the campaign it's really great.

Taste of Adventure is a proper expansion on par with those of the original RollerCoaster Tycoon games. It adds 10 new scenarios and a bunch of new rides, decorations, textures and shops that can also be used in the base game scenarios. The scenarios have unique goals/limitations like having to buy or unlock land to have any space at all to progress and not being able to modify the land. Most of the scenarios also have challenging optional goals like completing the scenario without building while paused, not using any tracked-ride blueprints and building alot of extremely high excitement roller coasters. It is a good thing that Parkitect has an easy to understand roller coaster building system and intuitive excitement system as this expansion demands alot of unpaused roller coaster construction.

The new ride additions are good and help fill some gaps in the lineup, offering an extremely compact coaster type and some new flat rides to spice things up among a host of other things (rubber dinghy rapids bruv). I could leave the candy theming but the new adventure theme is great to have. I was mostly interested in getting some new scenarios to play and for me they haven't disappointed. Trickier, more varied map designs and objectives that compel you to get out of the easy habits you develop to hit goals. I was initially intimidated by the size and geography of some maps but ended up loving them once I'd figured out how to work around their designs.

Didn't even realize that this game had a DLC launch. Even if i don't play any of the new challenges I still want to support these devs for making such a fantastic park/management game. A brilliant successor to Roller Coaster Tycoon that pushes the boundaries far beyond expectations. And then some.

I don't think this is actually a good value! It's a fair price tag in comparison to the base game and it ultimately doesn't actually add that much. Two scenery packs that aren't all that much and rides that act the same as other rides in their class, just with a different aesthetic. The scenarios have simply awful objectives, like "don't pause" or "don't use blueprints," so all in all it's a swing and a miss. Heck, look at the preview screenshots and let it dawn on you how much of that is actually base parts; for candy land in particular pretty much all of it is.

It's a decent addition to an already stellar game. Would probably say the price is a wee bit steep, but the content is decent so I cannot really find a way to complain. This is what Planet Coaster should have been.

Enjoyable DLC with plenty of content for its price, however the new build challenge without stopping the game is not really matching the game type.

The 10 new maps were pretty good. The optional challenge goals are actually a challenge if you felt like the normal campaign was generally too easy. No pausing, I felt changed how you approached the levels. Dividing your attention between building a coaster and planning the scenery/paths forced me to plan farther ahead than I usually would. The no pausing challenge is limited to just building and gives you a in-game warning in case you forget. You can still pause while you level/buy land, research, hire/set personnel, and alter ride pricing/colors.

The condition to pass a map (as gold medal) that is about excitement level make the game a lot more difficult and super boring. For anything else, it is good. Get it when it is on sale.

The Devs should be encouraging people to be creative and build beautiful parks not encouraging them to cheat the game which is what the new scenarios do due to the harshness of the parks objectives. I was really looking forward to the new scenarios having enjoyed the ones from the vanilla game immensely, this DLC has been a real disappointment and waste of money for me, wish I never bought it.

Great little update. I actually think it's a good value. The campaign took a number of hours to beat and the new themes / rides will add many more hours for sandbox playthroughs :)

Some really fun additions with the new rides, particularly the vertical spinning coaster and river rapids. I've been enjoying the new campaign levels, which have some fun new scenarios that are a bit more exotic than the base campaign. I'm a huge fan of the new adventure theme and assets. Candy theme is well done, but not to my personal tastes. Even if I get less use out of the candy theme, the rest of the bundle (adventure theme, scenarios, new rides, and features like animated doors) are more than worth the price.

Taste of Adventure DLC is a welcome addition to the basic items you have in Parkitect. The highlights are without a doubt the River Rapids and the Custom text sign, things that players have asked for for a while. The new rides and stalls are nice additions to your park, same goes for the new coaster types. However, i would have liked a bit more props / plants for this price, the current ones are nice and all but not a lot to be honest.

While I haven't been able to play the Taste of Adventure scenarios proper (in my defense, custom scenarios can be a little too fun at times), I think it's important to mention that even if you aren't too far ahead in the base game, you can still get a lot of enjoyment from this DLC since you can still use the new rides and scenery in the base campaign. Sure, you'll still probably be using Go Karts to win your scenarios, but I won't deny that I probably had a little too much fun building the Inverted Spinning Coaster and having more flat rides in the game is always a welcome treat for players not wanting to bankrupt their parks. Also, you can decorate your park with lava and while it is functionally identical to water, it's still a welcome bit of flavour for whenever you decide that some less favourable guests need to be disposed of, though you won't get to hear the sound of air bubbles when a guest dies in lava rather than regular water.

Bought this expansion right after I beat the original game. Played all the scenarios. Lots of value here for the price. The scenarios were actually very challenging compared to the vanilla game, I really enjoyed them. The new objectives kept everything fresh. The new rides and scenery all go well with the original game.

I love Parkitect! It's one of my favourite games ever. I love that I can use blueprints because my favourite game style is to make the park profitable fast - I don't care much about building coasters. I like hunting down vandals and never really hire security. I like min-maxing decoration and researching all the shops. This content does not go with my play style. New scenarios are a waste because it's no fun playing them. So basically it's ~10€ for few new items. Luckily I caught it from a sale. An odd choice from the creators to ruin one of the best things about the game: using community created blueprints.
