I finally found a game that got me to stop playing Cities: Skylines lol The level of fun with Project Highrise increased exponentially with this first DLC. The hotel, venues and their associated services and specialties really add a game play element that's finally a step above what SimTower ever was (which I still play, as well btw, but maybe not so much anymore) As far as suggestions go, I would have loved for an outside view of the building to have been included (as it was in Yoot Tower) to have more sign placement possibilities with the newly introduced neon casino signs. A parking infrastructure for offices and residents and to go along with the new hotel aspect would have been great, too, but there is a mod that tries to create that (the mod unfortunately has not worked for me, however). And the only other thing I can think of atm that's missing from the game is disasters. There's limitless possibilities for those such as a casino heist (ala Ocean's 11) to make the security office actually have something to secure, gas line explosions and subsequent fires, leaky pipes which cause flooding and send the plumbers scrambling and maybe even an earthquake that could collapse portions of the tower or something. I digress. This review was meant to give this game/new DLC a ton of raves instead of talking about what I like to see added. Las Vega DLC really does amp up the addiction factor ten-fold for this game, and I really look forward to the next DLC content the developers might have up their sleeves... BRAVO!!!!

This is a competent addition to the core content, and priced well. If you enjoyed mastering the base game, this will add enough mechanics to make it more interesting without altering everything you know about the original game. There is a limited amount of new scenarios which only matters if you don't play sandbox mode. I played enough to get three medals in all scenarios and it takes a while but it helps having an objective. I hope more scenarios are coming. I recommend this game if you need a game with enough depth that you need to know how to play but not so much intensity that you can't play it casually while watching Netflix or TV. Props to Dev for giving someone like me who gets overwhelmed by the density of a sim like Cities Skyline while still allowing a good micromanage simulated experience.

I honestly couldn't play Project Highrise without this DLC. The hotel features alone are a ton of fun and add immensely to the core gameplay mechanics. Add on top the extra entertainment venues, and you've got a whole new layer of play added to your skyscraper. Part of me wishes they were included in the base game, but another part of me isn't too upset about throwing a little more cash at this game. Not too pricey in my opinion, and well worth it when trying to do something extra with your building design.

Very good DLC but can bring some frustrations. While the money can roll in very quickly in a big hotel (around noon, checkout time), it also rolls out very quickly, as all the services and utilities you need to maintain cost a lot. This makes success pretty much entirely dependent on whether your hotel rooms fill on a daily basis, and there doesn't seem to be a lot you can do to improve your chances beyond a certain point. I will have 100% good reviews and randomly there will be 3-4 days in a row where only 70-80% of the hotel gets booked. That can absolutely kill your game entirely, and it is extremely frustrating. I still recommend this game, but there are some issues with reliability in your income.

This game is a lot of fun but it takes some thinking and planing to actually make a great tower. I've spent hrs on it so far and I've only had it for a few days now.

I picked up project highrise on sale I said what te heck it looked like something that I could mess around with in my down time. Well I have been hooked. So I purchased the DLC bundle and I have to say this game is suprisingly fun. Not something I would have seen myself playing but I have been plesantly suprised. This is what sim tower wished it would have been. I give this game 2 thumbs up. A must buy!

I liked this expansion. It added some interesting events to the gameplay, making it more entertaining than the base game.

Nice addition of content to an already nice game. Can get tedious, but all games can sooner or later. This game certainly needed a dash of content to flesh it out, hopefully there will be more tweeks and content to come. Mainly the devs need to (As all do) the feedback of the customers, especially any complaints than can be easily adjusted., and do so. This content pack adds a great deal of fun and expnsion to your goals. fair price and certainly worth the purchase if you enjoy this game, and certainly worth picking up the game if you were concerned about lack of content, this, and the update adds quite a bit.

For fans of Project Highrise, this DLC is a no-brainer. Adds a good chunk of content for a very reasonable price. I spent over 31 hours earning gold medals in all five of the new scenarios. I feel like I got way more content than I paid for with this DLC!

The DLC is priced appropriately for the content it adds, in this day and age I find myself buying DLC for games and it ends up feeling like a total scam *cough* Fallout 4 *cough* But this expansion adds a whole new layer of depth and tacks on some replay value. Definitely worth the seven dollars if you liked the base Project Highrise.

After quite a few hours of Project Highrise Las Vegas in the 24 hours since the DLC has been released I have put together my 'opinionated facts' about the game and the expansion. For the full video review: https://youtu.be/wj0HErcZ4M8 For gameplay video: https://youtu.be/wBb8VAdw9CA ..and the verdict is. I highly recommend this game. It has tonnes of depth, and the expansion has added much much more depth. Multiple development streams (apartments, offices, hotels, events and all of their service demands and issues) leads to very little or no repetition. The level of detail in the simulation is great, you can follow the guests, workers or entertainers around and see in their thoughts how your choices are affecting them. You can also see how each tenant is responding to its location, neighbours and foot traffic. Lots to micromanage if you want. The game is light on stats, and I don't think it gives you the info you need (at least not in an easy and understandable way) to really optimise the way your building works. How many elevators are enough, how many housekeepers do I need, etc. These questions largely goes unanswered and requires lots of inefficient trial and error before you get it right (if ever). The games presents some great challenges to keep you busy for hours. The various development streams and their intricacies, the co-location of amenities, services and tenants is a challenge. The requirement to go back and fix problems you create through expansion keeps you busy and thinking. The space planning element is great fun and a constant challenge with all the facilities and spaces at different sizes you are constantly trying to build the puzzle a little better than you did before. And finally as with most management games there is the challenge to balance the budget, with so many services to provide it is a fine line between over providing and running out of money, and under providing and not growing. The game provides a lot of freedom, both in selecting your goal for the game and how you achieve it. Do you want a super tall building, do you want to make a lot of money, do you want to create a prestigious hotel or a venue that features famous popstars, the options go on and on. The contracts system is also great if you need a bit of inspiration. All these aspects make it very replayable and you should be prepared to lose a few days or even weeks of your life on figuring out how to build the perfect tower! Apart from the lack of statistical information, a small criticism that I have is that the renovation mechanic is unrealistic and a bit frustrating (no building renovates the same places every second day or even year), I am sure it serves to balance the game but there are better ways this can be done. These are only a minor negative points and will in no way stop me from playing the game.

So they switched from creeping grime to excessive unrelenting impossible to mute noise in the buildings because the Devs think it's "fun" and make a nice puzzle and we shouldn't want to play without roadblocks. Horse Hockey. Buffer zones, art, venues shops doesn't matter the three major complaints are "the elevators are noisy (I'm told the game mimics the 70's but elevators were quiet then I was there in Vegas in the very early 70's) "there isn't enough insulation to muffle noise" and "this building is too noisy". THAT is built in and even on beginner you can't stop the complaints. If you don't have a trash bin placed by an entertainment venue the SECOND you drop it the venue gets all pissed off bcause they couldn't dispose of their trash YESTERDAY (how stupid). Guests are NEVER SATISFIED with the quality of the food your joints serve. Get used to it it doesn't get any better. Builders stop what they are doing and stand around because they can't go to the top floor since you hadn't placed an elevator so no other work gets done on the 20 other floors you/ve built What kind of logic is that? There are also 'innacessable' warnings BUT YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE THEY ARE COMING FROM it's a Where's Waldo hunt for the break in the continituity of the building. No warning when problems arise in the utilities unless you are staring at the office/shop/hotel room that has the problem but by then it's too late and they destroyed your room so you have to build it over again. These Devs (?) have decided that there is no such thing as freeplay. Somewhere in the bottom of their logic centers they thought 'these players are stupid let's make them hate the game". They succeeded. Overall 3/10. Only because the game has a 30's look to it This DLC is no improvemtnt over the original game and they have introduced new problems to muck up the works. Maybe one of them was a building manager in a far away country where the people were ignorant, who knows. This isn't and never will be even a comparison to SImTower. It's simply another business simulation. The Devs can't fool people with fluff and cosmetics. When they decide to fix the mechanics of the game it will be epic. But their egos will never allow it. Screw 'em.

Hotel rooms. People come to stay in your tower for a night or two and you get paid if you do a good job of providing a clean room and service.

For some reason this DLC seems to have an incredibly small number of reviews, so I thought I'd write this review to help out any potential buyers. This DLC adds Hotels as a third expansion option to the already existing options (Residences and Offices). This development branch is less focused on providing a variety of services and more on fulfilling service demands quickly and efficiently. While offices require their papers to be copied at some time in the day, along with 20 other services, hotel visitors require that room service is delivered to them quickly. Seeing as I personally didn't like how each higher level office or appartment requires two or three new service rooms, I find this to be a welcome difference between the Hotel branch and the other branches. The DLC also adds some hotel-specific rooms: casinos, conference halls and concert venues. In the latter two, an event can be manually scheduled. The performer or conference speaker will bring in a crowd, which will fill your hotel. The event will also earn you revenue. It is however somewhat tedious to do and I often skipped it. Fortunately it's not a focal point. On the topic of revenue, a major difference between the way you earn money with offices/appartments and hotel rooms is how you're paid. Hotel rooms are paid for upon guest arrival and not at midnight. This means that you will have a second revenue source, which happens at a different time in the day, so if you've spent all your money by 6AM, you don't have to wait until midnight to play more. That's really nice. Overall, if you enjoy the base game of Project Highrise, you'll enjoy this DLC. If you don't, then this DLC will not suddenly make you enjoy the game's formula. It's inexpensive and provides enough content to get you back into the game if you haven't played in a while. Oh, by the way... The DLC's name is awful. The game has nothing at all to do with Las Vegas. It should have been Project Highrise: Hotels or if you hate simple names, something like "Hotel Mogul" or "Bed and Breakfast" or some other hotel term, because that's what it adds. The presence of Casinos is so far down the list of interesting features that I don't know why Las Vegas was chosen as the title.
