I had more fun with this game in 3 hours than any AAA title I played in the last year. The level designs remind me of early shooters of the 2000s like Turok and Serious Sam. Chop Goblins has a plethora of secrets that can be found scattered across each of the 5 levels containing powerful supplies to use against your enemies. If you don't find the secrets at first, your environment can provide explosive opportunities to take out groups of Goblins with a single well placed bullet. Combat in this game is fast and precise, there isn't much time you spend standing still. For my ADHD brain, I never had a moment of boredom. In all my time playing I could not personally find anything about this game that I did not like nor any part I did not enjoy. It is truly a 10/10 Indie gem. My only true complaint is that there hasn't been a second Chop Goblins game.

A fun. short, funny and perfect for kids first FPS (just turn of the blood and gore). This game is also fun to speedrun and compare high scores with your friends. The OST is bombing! Also there's no Jump Button, so you won't be bunnyhopping around like a mad Goblin. Speaking of Goblins... WHERE'S ALL THE CHEESE?!!? 🧀

playing this game has taught me the virtue of chopping goblins, before i was hesitant to chop a goblin but after playing this game i can safely travel my streets knowing i can chop a goblin with proficiency

My life was significantly inferior than to how it is today, about 87% because of this game.

This game becomes way too addictive. Even though it's only like 30-45 minutes long, I couldn't stop playing. Everything works perfectly in this game. Even though there is no jumping in this game, which might turn off a lot of people, I really never noticed that I missed a jump button. Because you never need it. All the weapons are really fun to use as well. Nothing to say about that. The game has good replayability. After finishing the game, you can choose to play "Once again". Which just let's you replay the 5 levels, but with everything you left off with at the end of your last playthrough. Mirrored mode is a fun addition. It doesn't change anything else, apart from what it should. Same goes for the alternate weapons mode. It adds a few extra weapons you can switch to. Most interesting to me were the remix levels. They were just the basic levels. But rearranged. Levels are a different order. Mobs are placed differently. It introduces a few new mobs. All pickups are replaced, or placed elsewhere. And the levels progress differently as well. It's a fun addition if you like a good extra challenge. A good fun shooter to kill some time.

If you distill a retro fps down to it's core components, it's moving and shooting. Chop Goblins is a quick, quirky, cheap and cheerful tour de force displaying one man's exceptional grasp of those two essentials. It plays like a love letter both to 80's horror comedy and FPS engines throughout the ages. Nod to Thief? It's in there. Not Gonna Lie, and it might just be a buried response that comes from growing up in the time period Dave is homaging here, but the low-res photo textures and film grain look better to me than most super high fidelity games these days. Enthusiastically recommend

I don't get it. I don’t hate it; it didn’t make me angry or anything. The shooting is even snappy enough to potentially make something great out of it. But I don’t understand the point of it all. This is just 40 to 50 minutes of the most basic shooter imaginable, without any punchline to it. It feels like an inside joke from duskdev or something.

One of the Szymanski's strikes again with another banger. Will they ever stop? I hope not.

Many weapons have too low a rate of fire, and the enemies are monotonous.
