Whispering Flames is a short lighthearted visual novel with just one choice leading to two different endings. Surprisingly, I liked that, I'm usually a fan of many choices in VNs but, frankly speaking, quite often it looks like they aren't that important for the story, it only annoys me to no end when I think thoroughly what choice to make, imagine how it'll shape my MC and change the plot but... Here at least it's obvious that the choice is too meaningful, a really crucial moment, when you realize you can't have these two opposite scenarios in life and have to make a decision. That felt really nice. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2626136695 The story isn't very exciting but it's definitely a nice read for one evening. It needs some editing tho, both in English (typos/mistakes) and Russian. But, in general, the quality of writing is quite decent. It felt like a fairy-tale a little bit. Nothing too romantic, just a cute story about a
fire-mage
prince and a schoolgirl. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2626136870 So, art is pretty enough to enjoy the walk-through. The game has quite a number of achievements, appearing at plot turning points, a nice feature. Though unfortunately they aren't shown on steam profile, again :(( The novel doesn't cost much, which is a plus too. It's not like the game gonna leave an unforgettable impression but anyway I'd recommend it for a relaxing read. Not a bad way to spend an hour xD

[th]More thoughts about the game in a Reading Nook [/th]

A funny story about two people who happened to meet each other and they both come from different worlds. Welp,, I really recommend this game, even though the story is short... but the story is really good and I like the music makes me very comfortable ^-^)

Very short but nice visual novel about a prince and modern girl from very different worlds. the art style was really well done. Music/soundtrack was amazing. Has choice of two endings. Enjoyed the story and passed a good couple hours if you are slow reader :) I would say its worth a playthrough if you like short experiences <3

I'm a bit torn on this visual novel. The story is what trips me up the most. It is a very basic YA romance, where one character mysteriously falls into a fantasy world. If that is what you are into, it will be a pleasant enough time passer. If you need for the plot to make total sense, you might find it frustrating. There are long stretches where the story and dialogue aren't going anywhere, but I guess it is supposed to let the characters simmer longer in each other's presence for the attraction to kick in. I spent more time thinking 'that doesn't make sense' than I generally prefer, but if you don't think too hard about things it is alright. This is a kinetic novel, with no choices until the very end. When the choice does finally pop up there is no chance to save, and while I was curious about the other ending, it wasn't strong enough to sit through the entire story a second time. The artwork is nice. I would have liked more character sprites than just the two main characters, but I guess it keeps the focus squarely on them, and not the fantasy or danger that is spoken of. I found the sprite of the prince rather odd, given that he is supposed to be from a fantasy time period, and yet he is dressed in modern clothing with a bunch of modern ear cuffs. The credits mention using free image assets, so I guess they weren't able to customize him. Again, if you don't mind overlooking the details, then perhaps it won't bother you. Overall, it is a pretty good experience, and a good effort for a small team starting out. I am curious to see future project where they can customize their artwork to fit the story, and give the plot a bit of tightening up. I want to encourage them to keep at it and keep improving because I think they are right on the verge of something great.
