I'm a bit torn on this visual novel. The story is what trips me up the most. It is a very basic YA romance, where one character mysteriously falls into a fantasy world. If that is what you are into, it will be a pleasant enough time passer. If you need for the plot to make total sense, you might find it frustrating. There are long stretches where the story and dialogue aren't going anywhere, but I guess it is supposed to let the characters simmer longer in each other's presence for the attraction to kick in. I spent more time thinking 'that doesn't make sense' than I generally prefer, but if you don't think too hard about things it is alright.
This is a kinetic novel, with no choices until the very end. When the choice does finally pop up there is no chance to save, and while I was curious about the other ending, it wasn't strong enough to sit through the entire story a second time.
The artwork is nice. I would have liked more character sprites than just the two main characters, but I guess it keeps the focus squarely on them, and not the fantasy or danger that is spoken of. I found the sprite of the prince rather odd, given that he is supposed to be from a fantasy time period, and yet he is dressed in modern clothing with a bunch of modern ear cuffs. The credits mention using free image assets, so I guess they weren't able to customize him. Again, if you don't mind overlooking the details, then perhaps it won't bother you.
Overall, it is a pretty good experience, and a good effort for a small team starting out. I am curious to see future project where they can customize their artwork to fit the story, and give the plot a bit of tightening up. I want to encourage them to keep at it and keep improving because I think they are right on the verge of something great.
