This is the most beautiful game of the BIT.TRIP series in terms of music and graphical style. I probably sunk the most hours into this one of all the BIT.TRIP games, and I still listen to the soundtrack very often. And that ending, it still moves me to tears sometimes. Here's all you need to know about this stunningly bad port: - Lag causes beats to go through the paddle. - Timing bugs make powerups run out too early, causing challenge segments to be impossible. - The gorgeous backgrounds are barely visible due to lighting errors. - Vsync causes input lag that you cannot avoid unless you run the game in windowed mode. (Unless you disable the FPS cap in the ini file, which creates even more timing issues.) - Glitch still present from the WiiWare releases allows you to glitch perfects with great ease. - The studio who did this port made a patch, but they are done working on this game and the patch has not been posted to Steam for an unknown reason. Basically, if your computer is not strong enough to run a Wii emulator at persistent 60 FPS (Which is basically what this port is) you're gonna have game-breaking problems. BIT.TRIP FLUX is a perfect game, and one of the most memorable rhythm games I've ever played. 10/10. But if you want to play it, either get it on WiiWare, get BIT.TRIP COMPLETE for Wii, get BIT.TRIP SAGA on the 3DS e-shop (it's cheap!), but don't bother with this crummy port. It's sad for all the wrong reasons.

"Whether a hardened BIT.TRIP veteran or a brave new contender, you'll be faced with new challenges that will make even the most experienced BIT.TRIPPERS weep." - Steam store description Why will you weep? Because the PC version is bugged with an unbeatable first boss. If this ever gets patched I will change my review to a positive one, but as this game currently stands it is unbeatable due to a completely game-breaking bug.

There's little point reviewing a game that's not even on sale anymore because of all the bugs. But it's one of the most beautiful games I've personally ever played, so much that this is a recommendation to go play it on any other platform. The final level is called 'Catharsis' and no other word captures the final level so perfectly. It's a shame because I love all the BIT.TRIP games but this one is special, yet it's PC port was dealt the worst hand of them all. If you're looking at this game, go get one of the BIT.TRIP complete/saga collections on Wii, 3DS, PS4, whatever. It's worth it.

Starting off, I want to say that I absolutely love BIT.TRIP FLUX. It's by far one of my favorite games of all time and one of my favorite music games of all time. I want to say the same for this port but it just isn't good at all... You can't get past the first level with the difficulty, numerous bugs and performance issues, there's just so much that I desperately wish were fixed because I love this game but it just isn't good... There's a whole review by CtrlAltDestroy that says it way better than I ever could, and you can view that here

The boss for the first level is beatable when you downgrade the game to the 2014 version via the betas option (under properties). if the game glitches out then crashes midway through the first stage you need to enable vsync in the nvidia control panel.

Another great port of the Bit. Trip Series. This is an exact port of the Wii version, though I wish it had some of the 3DS enhancements, mainly being able to see the bonus beats. Mouse is INFINITELY harder than using a stylus on the 3DS. Really like how the title screen changes from Epiphany's background to
the planet from after you beat Catharsis
Excellent Game. 2nd best port, would have been the best if it had: Sensitivity controls The title screen Fixed music intervals Really hard game, a game fit for a true BIT.TRIPPER, or any rhythm expert around the world. Edit: I'm not sure what people are talking about, but on my PC, things are fine, I just had to change my mouse settings, I didn't see any input lag

6th game in the series, the final one in original franchise that keps changing gameplay. And what's this? This actually makes me very pleased! A gameplay from BEAT, the first game, comes back, which was my favourite, pong-time. BUT this time they have learned all the important lessons. For example... checkpoints! And visuals are not noisy, albeit I do miss colored squares. There is rhythm and your successful actions add to music in a way that feels good. And gameplay difficulty is so much more smoothly curvy and doesn't feel cheap either. Eeeexcellent. Aside from one problem: The first boss, a paddle clone that protects its side, cannot be defeated in this version, it's too good and it's possibly related to framerate. Which reminds me of paddle game on Linux I remember dad having on his PC in childhood which was impossible too for some reason, I really hated that stupid Linux penguin ever since, Xenia is a superior Linux mascot. But it's easily fixable by going into properties and selecting 2014.06.04 beta build. Bom. Done. But publisher still freaked out and instead of patching took the game down off the store. LAME! That's not what we have capitalism system for, dumbass. Tho even then it could use mouse sensitivity option in-game. My poor arm.

I have played this on two different platforms now (PC and 3DS), and I love the 3DS version. However, I think that the PC controls are inadequate, and don't do this beautiful game justice, in that there is no way to adjust mouse sensitivity, at least at the time that I wrote this. Also, even though I have a fairly powerful PC and a pretty decent mouse, I experience significant lag. It makes me very sad to give a game in the BIT.TRIP series (which is definitely my favorite indie franchise, and one of my favorites overall) a negative review, but I must warn others of the faults in this port. My advice is to MAYBE get it when it's on sale, and wait for the devs to fix it. I will tune in to the forums, and edit my review if this game is fixed.

It's a simple little game that is both relaxing and terribly frustrating. Jolly good if you want to play something that will make you zone out, without a lot of effort, but you might find yourself getting quite annoyed with the difficulty of the boss battles. I know I did.

Very cool game, but it appears most of the people can't access 66% of the game. All you gotta do is use the 2014 beta! Not that hard. Right click on BIT.TRIP FLUX in your library, go to the public betas tab, and hit the 2014 beta in the drop-down menu. There! Now you get to see the 2 missing levels without the first boss becoming the final boss. (lol u gotta do epiphany again fuggin lmaooooooooooooooo) Anyways, Great game! 10/10!

The PC port thats total hot garbage unless you played it on a Mac. Honestly just play this game on the Switch or play the BIT.TRIP COMPLETE / SAGA versions on Wii and 3DS.

There's so many bugs with this that I cannot recommend it for play on this PC/Steam version. Just look at the discussions forum. It's very disappointing, because it's the finale to the series, and it just runs horribly compared to all the other BIT.TRIP games - even Runner2 does better. I really want this to just at least work and perform well at the very least... but alas, it looks like I'll have to pull out the Wii if I want that experience :/
DISCLAIMER: This is a first impressions review, and NOT a full review
BIT.TRIP FLUX is a game developed and published by Gaijin Games The game offers some pleasant graphics and really vibrant colours, although some ugly glitches here and there, it is pleasant all the same The game does suffer with some repetitiveness at certain areas of the game but a fun game nontheless BIT.TRIP FLUX overall, however, is a fun game to play, yet sometimes flawed, casual game to play! As much as I want to like this game, I can't. I love the music and the style. Hell, when the gameplay works, it's a fun game. The problem is the mouse controls. Instead of taking raw input from the mouse, it uses the cursor position. This would not be a problem If you were actually able to move fullt vertical, but there are small gaps at the top and bottom of the screen where your mouse can be, but the paddle can not. This makes the game feel weird because when you move you mouse to the top of the screen quickly, your mouse will move to the top, but the paddle will stop at the upper limit. When you then start to move down, You don't move down immediately because the mouse has to exit the barrier zone that shows the score before the paddle will move with it. Using mouse position instead of raw input also means running the game in windowed mode is damn near impossible as well. If you're like me and moving your mouse up and down on a game like this alsoi causes you to move it ever-so-slightly to the left or right as well, you'll find yourself moving the mouse cursor off the game windows and you'll be thrown off because then the game isn't accepting any inpun while the cursor is off its window. This also makes playing with two monitors a pain in the ass because if your cursor drifts to the other monitor, then you're also stuck with the game not accepting any input. Long story short, if it wasn't for a technical oversight on how the game handled mouse input, which is the only way of playing the game, it would be a damn fun game. Because of the mouse issues though, FLUX is only frustrating to play on PC.

I both recommend and not recommend this game. Don't pay attention to what everyone says, this game is still awesome, but it was much more awesome on WiiWare and here are some things that I would REALLY like Gaijin to fix on Steam: -There is slight input lag for the mouse, but it isn't that bad, still fine -The system requirements are bs, I recommend at least an i3 processor to play this -And the worst of all: The game is impossible. The first boss is immaculate, you cant get the ball past it, and trust me, I have tried EVERYTHING. Different difficulty settings, Windowed mode, different Fullscreen resolutions, you cant beat it, while on the Wii, the first boss is VERY easy. Please fix these so everyone can enjoy this game since the Wii Shop Channel doesn't work too well anymore ;(

Two-thirds of this game (66%) is unavailable to play because the first boss is broken and can not be defeated. The problem has been known since 2014, but the developer would rather just collect your money. Do not buy this game.

Absolutely loved earlier games in the series. This game has all the same potential but it completely frustrated by bugs, including many that have existed for years and never been fixed. The biggest and most glaring issue: the first Boss cannot be beaten. There was some kind of beta update to the normal stable version and it's been a problem since 2014 from what I can tell. For now this seems to be the only way to fix it: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=972133135 Does NOT play well with multiple monitor setups. My mouse keeps leaving the "input area" or something and then I lose control of the paddle, and this is in fullscreen mode so I don't expect that to be an issue. Also has persistent framerate issues that end up ruining the entire experience of using a mouse for precise control, which is something a game like this should absolutely excel at.

Let me start by saying that I love this game. Or, rather, loved, on any system but Steam. I had the original version on WiiWare, as well as the DS and Wii releases, and all of them were great. However, when they ported this to Steam, they completely screwed it up. This game is borderline unplayable. The paddle sporatically stops responding for a few seconds at a time, causing you to miss beats, and when there is too much on screen, it starts to lag. The beats that bounce back would often go straight through the paddle, as well. To top it all off, I was in the middle of the fifth stage of the first level, and the game just crashed, for no apparent reason. It just suddenly closed. Unless they fix eveything that they screwed up porting this game to PC, I would not recommend this game to anyone.

I may not have played this game as much as some other people have, and I most certainly don't have the eyes that most (if not all) reviewers have, but even I am able to tell when a game is phenomenal, and is a work of art. In my inexperienced eyes, this game is one that is to be remembered. The graphics are stunning, the music is breathtaking, and when you add those two aspects together with the beats and game modes, it creates a concoction that was powerful enough to bring me to tears for the first time in as long as I can remember. I have not played all of the games in the series, but I have seen videos. None of them compare to this one's beauty. But, through all of the aforementioned aspects of the game, there are several problems that I have heard people talk about: - Lighting errors that affect backgrounds; I have personally no clue how bad this is compared to the console versions, since I have not played any of them, so I cannot confirm how bad the lighting errors really are. Notwithstanding, I can assure you that I was able to see the games astounding visuals just fine, well enough for me, at least. - Timing bugs/lag that affects gameplay, e.g. beats going through paddle and powerups running out too early; I have also yet to confirm how true this is. In the almost 3 hours I've played this game (which will soon be more), I have not once encountered stuttering or powerups running out before they should. I am able to concentrate fully and nothing breaks that concentration. - Input lag; Again, yet another problem that others faced with this port that I have not. I can play it just fine without such issues. - Framerate issues; I have no complaints about the FPS, since it runs astonishingly well. However, despite all of those upsides for me, amongst other things, the most obvious and glaring problem is the simple fact that the first boss is impossible. You can try all you want, but you will never be able to make it past. It was aggravating for me, but I was forced to turn to having to download someone else's save file. I have heard news of a new patch yet to come, but I shall keep my expectations low to prevent the suspense being illegitimate. My only other major complaint is that mouse sensitivity options are practically a necessary option. It was stupidly difficult to get a hold of how the paddle moved compared to BEAT. Nevertheless, I cannot express in any amount of words or any kind of expression/emotion how much I love this game. The soundtrack completely blows that of any other BIT.TRIp game away, the visuals demolish any other game you can find, and the game itself is a finish to the meaningful—albeit through metaphor—storyline contained within the BIT.TRIP series. Despite the horrifically broken bug that makes the first boss impossible, I highly recommend this game. It is one of the best games I have ever laid eyes on, and one of the best games I have ever let myself enjoy. I assure you, if you manage to get away from the horrible problems pointed out by others, and are able to fetch yourself a save with the first boss beaten, then you will enjoy this game too.

Everything comes from something. We were before we became. From life comes rhythm, and from rhythm comes life. We are beings of information. Everything is a conduit for learning. We communicate in bits and bytes. And we will return to something once we become nothing. After our BIT.TRIP is complete.

I had posted a previous review, that did not recomend the game. I cannot say that I do right this very moment. The game currently, does not work correctly without tweaks. But if you're willing to make some edits to a config file, the game runs beautifully and is well worth the admission. I absolutely love this game, now that somebody in the community has helped me to get it working correctly. In the future I hope they make a patch, so it works correctly right away. You should buy this, it's a lot of fun.

At this very moment, I honestly can't recommend Flux to anyone here on Steam. The PC version has a multitude of technical issues that haven't been fixed so far, a glance to the forums should speak for itself. The game itself is actually good, just what you would expect of a Bit.Trip game, but unlike its predecesors available here, this one is just not playable right now. Do yourself a favor and wait until you know for sure your experience with the game will be pleasant.

Tags: Casual - Brickbreak & Pinball Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Abandonned broken. Cleaner remake of Bit Trip Beat with better bullet to background contrasts, reworked bullet patterns. Unfortunately 4 years after, first boss is still glitched out and unbeatable. Apparently the only way to experience this correctly is on the 3DS or the Wii, the PC version on Steam will allow you to go through a good chunk of levels and then the first boss comes, which mimicks the old Pong Game with you having to sort of chip away at some sort of concrete wall behind his paddle until you hit his core, but he blocks everything perfectly due to some strange, undiagnosed and left unfixed issue. Conclusion: I would have very much preferred to keep this version of the musical solo PvE pong paddle over Beat so this is a disappointment and makes me look at Bit Trip Beat in a worse light while still not offering a better alternative. The worst of both worlds. Removing local content permanently and hiding from library for declutter. Really sours my impression of those products on Gaijin's products on the Steam Platform and I will be wary of them all in light of this.

After playing this for an hour I could say for me it is a game, a game that really show me nostalgia when I was playing the demo version and always practice and practice to a point I was very good at it. But that was on the wii and there is certan drawbacks when using a mouse instead. Most people complain about mouse sensitivity that you cannot change it, and I particly agree on that you could actually change the mouse sensitivity by using the mouse settings in the windows that they give you. Forward I really found that the graphics are a bit good despitce the specs you need is very low I bet 1080p on my amd a6 3620 could play decently without lagging. Not only that but the music gives that warm and jumpy mood whenever you play this game. However this is the only shining spot for it. The downsides however are a bit big that I cant recommend getting this on a computer. Reason 1 is if you really have an old proccessor such as a core 2 duo gma I dont recommend playing bit trip flux. I did state that its playable on almost everything but it isnt playable on something like this. Even if I can play it in my laptop that had that core 2 duo gma there is certain parts that lagged the game which also causes input lag which kinda kicks it to the knee and ruins my experiance. However the reason why I would not let you get it is because of the boss. Its so ridiculous that EVEN IN EASY MODE I CANT EVEN BEAT IT. And again I played this demo version when I was younger and I even saw people beat bosses in the wii and 3ds in hard mode but never or rarely if you're god at pong you can beat the boss. It is really a disappointment even at easy mode which kinda sucks its like the new barriar for me because how hard it is and it kinda sucks that I even put a big dislike for how cool it was back then when I was younger. To conclude this if you want to play bit trip flux because of nostalgic feeling or if you're curious about it, I would say get the wii version or 3ds because in PC Optmization and how hard the first stage boss it is. For 10 dollars id rather get those other 2 versions of that then this. To rate it simply its a 4/10. While its nostalgic and fun and it suits as a game, you need to have a better proccessor then a core 2 duo gma and the boss stage simply acts like a barriar to me. Pretty disappointed.

As many people have already mentioned, the first boss is unbeatable in this version of the game. This is because the dev team that ported this game to PC upped the framerate to 60 instead of its original 30, which also results in a sluggish feeling paddle. The devs have been promising a fix to the boss issue FOR THREE YEARS, but of course, there is no fix as of yet, and frankly I don't think there will ever be one. The only real solutions as of now are to get a complete save state to be able to skip the first stage, or to downgrade to the beta version, which is 30 FPS, and plays more smoothly as a result. However, doing the latter has its own myriad of problems. For one, bouncing beats sometimes count as a "miss" even if they've cleared been hit. Crashes are also quite frequent, which can result in all your progress being flushed. Basically, this port is a total mess, and the devs behind this port have shown a great deal of unprofessionalism in resolving this critical issue. It's a real shame too, since this game is genuinely excellent, and I can personally vouch for the quality of the Wii and 3DS versions. All of the PC ports of the Bit. Trip games are lackluster, but this one especially drops the ball, and serves as a prime example of a poor port, which is honestly no real surprise considering how little experience Empty Clip Studios has (not to discredit them entirely, I certainly couldn't do a fraction of what they've done). If Choice Provisions had handled this one themselves, I'm sure the end result would be much more impressive, but as it stands, there's no way I can recommend this version, despite it being one of my all-time favorite games. This is a rare occasion when a slower framerate makes for a better game. Do yourself a favor and buy any other version of this game.

The final BIT.TRIP game (in the timeline atleast) returns to BEAT's style of gameplay playing like Pong, except reversed horizontally and more obstacles and patterns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Although, it never gets as difficult as BIT.TRIP BEAT's final level, which still haunts me to this day, since if you miss enough beats or run into enough circles you will be sent back to a checkpoint and not have to restart the entire level again. The soundtrack (which I still go back to listen to every now and then, Catharsis being my favorite BIT.TRIP track and level) combined with the visuals in the levels are beautiful, and while there are only three levels they are all incredibly fun and a blast to play through. This is definitely my favorite BIT.TRIP game and one of my favorite games period, (I include it with BIT.TRIP COMPLETE when talking about my favorite games) and I reccommend playing through all the other games in order before this one to get the full BIT.TRIP experience! Now regarding the problems with this port, while I haven't had problems that were with this port recently, I think I did have them when I first played the PC port, but recently and getting a new laptop I haven't encountered much problems, except for this one part where a timing of a power-up causes me to never fully complete one of the challenges. Although there is one glaring problem that you might encounter, where the first boss is literally impossible to beat. I've played the Wii and 3DS versions many times before the PC port and never had a problem with that boss. As far as I know the bug is still in the game by the time of this review, so you might have to go find a save file that lets you past this boss. Or you could get the BIT.TRIP compliations, BIT.TRIP COMPLETE for the Wii, and BIT.TRIP SAGA for the 3DS, COMPLETE being my favorite since it has tons of bonus content including 20 challenge missions in each BIT.TRIP game and a soundtrack CD. Though get the 3DS one if you're like me and are terrible with the motion controls in the Wii versions of BEAT and FLUX. So in my opnion, FLUX is one of my favorite games that I'd highly recommend if you are fan of rhythm/music games or are a BIT.TRIP fan and you haven't bought this one for some reason. However it is still plagued by the issues stated, and is now harder to get on my preferred way to play, the 3DS. But I'd still recommend giving this and other BIT.TRIP titles a shot.

I understand this is a bad port, but I can not say I don't recommend this amazing game. This is IMO the best game in the BIT.TRIP series, the music is beautiful, the story made me cry the first time through, and it calls back to the first game, beat, in gameplay. This is an exact port of the Wii version, and is somewhat not optimized. If you want to play this in all of it's glory, pick up the 3DS or Wii versions. If you don't own those, pick up this version and run it in windowed mode, that works for me at least.

I beat it my first time through. I chalk that up to my prior experience with this series, though. The last game in this series goes full circle, both in gameplay and in themes. It recycles a lot of tricks and remixes a lot from the first game. That said, this is probably the best game of the bunch in terms of atmosphere. The soundtrack for this one in particular is beautiful. The thing with this game is that it starts hard right off the bat. However, that means that there isn't much room for it to get harder, so there isn't actually much difference in difficulty between the levels. If anything, it actually gets easier as you go, with the final boss being hard to outright lose against, a stark contrast to the first game's diffculty spikes. This might be intentional, if the story is anything to go by. My computer was able to run this game fine. However, some computers can't, and this game apparently can't handle lag of any sort without breaking down. So high-end computers only. Even so, the steam overlay ended up being screwed up for me, but that's just a minor hinderance. The big question is: Does this game do enough to distinguish itself from the first one? I'd say that it does.

This is bullshit, the game runs without any lag, however the first boss is imposible to beat. Ive tried 3 different times with different resolutions, compatibility modes, and refresh rates, but nothing helps... I haven't experienced the glitches that other reviewers complain of. It's my understanding that Gaijin Games have fixed the more egregious issues. I will not be factoring these glitches into my review since I can't reasonably rate something which I haven't seen. I find the actual gameplay a nice time sink. It's the sort of game which ought to be frustrating, logically, but it never actually feels that way to me. This is probably because it is, generally, a fair game. There is no Random Number God to screw you over, so you have only yourself to blame for failures. But what's really nice is the relatively forgiving checkpoint system. You don't get a game over, you just go back to the last checkpoint. No lives, no "you're an idiot for losing" nonsense. I'd probably hate this game a lot more if I was going for 100% perfection.

Honestly i'm really surprised. I've loved the BIT.TRIP games thus far (especially BEAT, Runner, and Runner 2) While this game is essentially a rehashed version of BIT.TRIP beat, with a better looking GUI, it has a pretty neat soundtrack thus far. My only gripe, and the game-breaking gripe I have with it, is the control. I'm not having an issue of the beats going through my bar/paddle. Far from it, that was going ok. The worst problem is how stiff the controls are. I'm trying to move the mouse to block beats, and have to swing it up or down very quickly to even grab the beats at the bottom of top, but once I get to staccato notes bouncing towards me, I can only catch a small number of them. I did not see an option for V-sync, so I turned it to 1920x1080 and 60Hz (my monitor's refresh rate) and little did that help. I got through stage 6 of the first level, and i'm barely keeping up. I tried the controller, and the controller is even worse! I would advise not to grab this, as much as I love this series, until the controls are revised.

Ok my first impression of this port was a little off due to the fact that I found that my controls were flaking out because the mouse had not been focused on the game and stopped controlling the game once it left the window of the game. So just keep in mind, if you run this game in windowed mode, be sure to click the left mouse button when the game starts to lock the mouse inside the game window so your controls don't flake out. So on to the review. I have this game on the Wii where it was originally released and have to say that this game is a ton more playable than it is on the Wii because of the mouse controls. Not that the Wii version is bad, but there is just an ease of precision using a mouse with this game instead of a Wiimote that you have to twist back and forth. It makes the game seem a bit more fair and alot more fun since you're not battling with the somehat archaic controls on the Wii. I've even managed to push up to the "Meta" level which I've never seen before when I was playing this game on the Wii because of the controls.

I was so glad I got this game and the soundtrack for free after purchasing the whole BIT.TRIP collection several months ago. BIT.TRIP FLUX had a great experience for me. Of course it's the last game in the BIT.TRIP series so things get pretty epic at this point. The game is easier than the average BIT.TRIP game. Mainly because checkpoints were introduced so you didn't have to go ALL THE WAY back when you screw up unlike other BIT.TRIP games. The game plays just like BIT.TRIP BEAT with frenzies of beats coming at you this time. But it's STILL easy since there are seven checkpoints in each of the three stages. And the music changes automatically instead of the kind of thing in BEAT and CORE where when you miss a colorful beat the music doesn't change for you. Finally the music and story are the two main aspects of this game. The story is Commander Video departs from his friends and arrives home. And the music completely fits in with it. The music is so soothing that I feel relaxed after finishing the game. Most of the magic comes from the third stage where getting further into it plays this music. And the segment after the third boss dubbed "home" is the best part of the game. You can find out for yourself once you get there. Don't want to spoil anything. I recommend this game for gameplay, story, and music. So nice.

I love the entire main BIT.TRIP series, having played them on Wii originally and then on Steam. Sadly FLUX has remained broken for upwards of 5+ years at this point and whilst I've even contacted Gaijin Games/Choice Provisions and Alex Neuse directly through Twitter over the years to kindly look into the fact new purchasers can't even advance past the first stage, it seems to have fallen on death ears. FLUX is one of my most favorite games of all time, if you can, play it on Wii (via BIT.TRIP Complete) or 3DS (via BIT.TRIP Saga). Both instances are better experiences than what you will get with the current Steam version. Which is a shame, because when the game wasn't broken, it had visual improvements over it's console counterparts (if prettier visuals for a Pong game matters even matters to you). Leaving a negative review is all I can do at this point to make a point that this game should not be on Steam in it's current broken state, of which it has been for the last 5+ years. At this point it's just embarrassing. Either fix it or remove the game from Steam.

It's a cool game but it's not done like the Wii version. PC -Unable to beat the first boss -Unable to beat the game -Beats going through paddle because of sudden lag -Mouse cursor keeps going out of the game (in windowed mode) WII -Able to beat the boss and beat the game -No lag at all -Using a WII REMOTE INSTEAD OF A COMPUTER MOUSE

So lately you've seen the 'unbeatable boss' bug screwing people over in Epiphany (first level) well that's over. This franchise has a special place in my heart with its soundtrack, both calming and energizing, the wordless story unfolding to show the concept from the beginning. Everything comes from something. We were before we became. From life comes rhythm, and from rhythm comes life. We are beings of information. Everything is a conduit for learning. We communicate in bits and bytes. And we will return to something once we become nothing. After our BIT.TRIP is complete. The last game in the series will only make sense after you've played the others in a specific order, as they were created after one another. Each part of the game has bits and pieces of music of the older games, combined with it's own style, and recreates them to something almost unrecognizable. Right now, it'd be best to buy it now as, Steam Sales, y'know. But currently there are still a few problems with the game, most notably the music. The controls overall aren't really that great as the mouse (if you use one) isn't tracked perfectly. Your best bet is to have the smallest window of playing, and enjoy it that way.

There's considerable lag when using a mouse while an opposite problem seems to happen with my Afterglow controller and goes too fast (in addition to the cursor snapping to the middle of the screen when at rest). As it is currently, I'm having trouble playing through the first level and might have to resort to adjusting my mouse's sensitivity in control panel, as there is no in-game option for this. I love the BIT.TRIP series but I can't in good conscience reccomend this specific game from the series until the bugs get ironed out.

It's a good game, but be advised this port is messed up - the game is controlled via mouse but mouse acceleration or some another parameter is set to a ridiculous amount, making quick AND precise movements very difficult. In a game that is completely based around quick and precise movements it's, as you can guess, a stupid design decision that makes me wonder if ANYBODY playtested the port... well, it's not the end of the world as I did manage to complete the game, but attempting to play for high score may prove far more frustrating than it's worth. And it's not like it's impossible, BIT.TRIP BEAT somehow managed to avoid this problem.

It's a good game. It's very enjoyable. However, the first boss in unbeatable if the game runs at 60 FPS. I don't have an in-game option to lower the frame rate below 60 when playing Fullscreen. I can't change the option in-level, so it means I need to start the level windowed with something to drag down the frame rate. This bug has been open for 2 years, because there's no developer support.

As much as I would have liked to experience this game, I could not because I was welcomed with computer-paralyzing hangs. Both times I've tried to run this game and I was met with the same fate each time. But judging from the way the game plays, I probably am best without experiencing it since there's a lot of mentioned glitches/bugs. As well as it has the returning gameplay as BEAT in which I wasn't in favor of. So, there isn't a whole lot that I'm missing out from here. For a last game of it's series, this is how you choose to bow out? For shame.

I suppose I can recommend this game but only after it's fixed. I understand that it has just been released but it's got a few problems that render the game nigh-unplayable so buy it while it's on sale then wait a little while. But let's take a high note, shall we? If you like the Bit.Trip series so far, then this will be a happy addition, I can tell.

It's like Beat, but way better. There's a little bug for Windows users that makes the first boss impossible, but thats an easy fix if you're willing to get techincal.

BIT.TRIP FLUX is a pixel rhythm game loosely based off of Pong, in which the player controls a paddle on one side of the screen and is responsible for bouncing back "bits" that fly across the screen at it. It is the final game in the BIT.TRIP series, and is more than adequate for being the final huzzah, but somewhat marred by some in-game bugs. FATE and be thought of the "answer" to BEAT, where this time you play on the right side of the screen instead of the left. Like other BIT.TRIP games, as you string together a number of successful hits without a miss, the game will move to a "higher" mode which has more graphic effects, and as you miss enough without getting an appropriate number of successes, you will move to a "lower" mode, which has fewer. FLUX adds a final layer, META, for a total of 8 - NETHER, HYPER (which you start in), MEGA, SUPER, ULTRA, EXTRA, GIGA, and META. FLUX is both easier and harder than other BIT.TRIP games. It's less difficult to beat than BEAT was, for example, but is effectively impossible to perfect on the PC. As other reviews have noted, there are some issues which can cause beats to pass through your paddle and other sorts of frustrating timing issues (to say nothing of the fact that the game appears to be designed to have harder sequences, but be more forgiving for going up/down levels so it takes doing much worse to eventually lose). I still enjoyed it despite its flaws, but it's a shame that the port to PC for the final game in the series isn't in the best state possible.

A great finale to the charming BIT.TRIP series. It ended as mystic as it started, and still blows my mind after years ago.

I have no idea what I played. It was a weird hodge-podge of gameplay that didn't work together at all or make any sense with that style.

Boss on the first level because of a bug. Developer commented about the issue almost a year ago, still not fixed and nothing works to fix it for me. Steam won't give me a refund. Bullshit.

Hint for this game: don't play it with a trackpad. Use a mouse so that you are more accurate. The game is okay... There are better games out there. I wouldn't recommend this game, but I also wouldn't dislike the game. It's made for some, but not for others. 7/10
