There is superhero games, then there is BATMAN-ARKHAM series. Spider-man can never come close to the atmosphere of this game. Can't believe I slept on this game for 10 years but happy I get to experience peak gaming all new.

Bought all three mainline Arkham games on discount, and played through them in order. After finally (technically) finishing Arkham Knight, i can safely say Asylum is still my favorite of the bunch. I liked Arkham Asylum, because it is such a tight and focused game. The story took you along at a decent pace, it was quite easy to do all collectibles, and the game was just the perfect length for what it is. It took myself around 15-16 hours to complete, which is perfect for a 40-something-year old with other responsibilities. Arkham City took the concept, and added more of... everything. And not always in a good way. The story i also could not really get invested in. Riddlers side mission especially turned into a completely ridiculous collect-a-thon, to the point where i stopped caring and never finished. Now, Arkham Knight. Not a bad game in it's core. Gotham looks as pretty as ever in the rain, gliding around is fun, and there's plenty of fun things to do. Combat and all the different gadgets can be fun, if simplistic. I also personally experienced no technical issues or crashes during the 30-ish hours i played, AMD system, Windows 11. So why the negative review? At some point i found myself having done most of the story side missions apart from Riddler (still a collect-a-thon), and after maybe 24-25 hours was starting to feel slight fatigue. So i decided to continue with the main story to the end. And the further i got, the more negative my view of Arkham Knight became. It felt never ending. Fight 20 drones, fight 40 drones, fight 60 drones. You love the Batmobile, right? Here's a vehicular boss fight. Getting tired? Here are the militias best of the best of the best. Still not enough? Here's an even bigger mob, with special guys requiring you to utilize your gadgets to beat. Better take them out first! And during certain points of the story, new checkpoints, roadside bombs and drones appeared. Stuff i thought i had already done and were already marked as 100 %. Stuff that i did early on purpose, because i knew i'd otherwise get frustrated with. But no, we have to have more. So i thought f--k it, i've seen this gimmick, i'm just going to continue on with the main story. And then, as i finally felt like this must have been the end, the game informed me that i must still clear more checkpoints, more drones, more watch towers. It was at that point i just felt defeated. I just wanted to play through to the end and enjoy a nice cutscene to wrap it all together, but felt like i wasn't allowed to. And that ending? Boy howdy. But don't worry, it isn't the true ending. That one you apparently get only if you 100 % everything? Though what i've gathered from discussions, the true ending doesn't add much, so just watch it on Youtube. Overall, the story had potential with it's themes, but felt... unfinished? Again: i don't think Arkham Knight is a bad game. If you like Batman and 3rd person action games, and you get a good deal, go for it. But it does in my personal opinion, not really know to quit while it's ahead.

Arkham Knight is the darkest, biggest, and most ambitious entry in Rocksteady’s trilogy. It takes the foundation laid by Asylum and City, adds a visually stunning open-world Gotham, and aims to deliver the definitive Batman experience. In many ways, it succeeds - though it also stumbles in its reach. The game's story is a grim, cinematic descent into fear and identity. Bruce Wayne is more human here than ever before, and the narrative explores what it means to be Batman with surprising emotional weight. While the identity of the Arkham Knight may not come as a shock to longtime fans, the execution still delivers some powerful moments - especially when combined with Scarecrow’s psychological warfare and a brilliantly twisted performance from
the Joker
. Combat and predator gameplay remain top-tier, even years later. The rhythm of freeflow fights is tighter and more varied than ever, with new enemy types and tag-team takedowns adding fresh layers. Stealth sections are generous in their freedom, allowing for creative improvisation across dynamic environments. The Batmobile, however, is where the experience becomes more divisive. As a tool for traversal, it’s fast and responsive. As a puzzle-solving or tank-combat mechanic, it's overused and often forced into situations where it doesn't quite belong. It's not bad - just overpresent. That said, it still manages to deliver some thrilling set pieces and creative moments when used more sparingly. The city of Gotham is sprawling, moody, and dense with detail. Gliding across rooftops and responding to crimes in progress never gets old. Side missions range from great to forgettable. The Riddler challenges are, as expected, elaborate and plentiful. Completing all 243 is demanding but satisfying, especially if you’ve followed the series from the beginning.
The Knightfall Protocol
- the game’s true ending - only unlocks after 100% completion, and it's absolutely worth the effort. It brings closure not just to Arkham Knight, but to Rocksteady’s entire take on the character. Highlights: - A compelling and emotionally complex final chapter. - Visually stunning Gotham with unmatched atmosphere. - Rock-solid combat and stealth mechanics. - A complete Batman fantasy - gadgets, allies, detective work, and more. - Excellent voice acting and score, with standout performances across the board. Drawbacks: - Batmobile is overused, especially in repetitive tank battles. - Some side missions feel underdeveloped compared to others. - Story revelations are occasionally predictable but still well executed. Arkham Knight doesn’t reinvent the formula, but it expands and refines it at scale. As the capstone to a legendary trilogy, it’s bold, brooding, and unforgettable. For anyone who’s played Asylum and City, this is an essential final chapter - and a worthy farewell to the cowl. 10/10 – You either die a hero, or live long enough to glide-kick a militia goon through a rooftop window.

Playing Arkham Knight felt like the ultimate conclusion to a journey I’d been on for years. It’s Gotham’s biggest, most chaotic playground yet—and the stakes have never felt higher. But this game isn’t just about scale or flashy gadgets. It’s about what it means to be Batman when the walls close in and the past won’t stay buried. From the first moment I gripped the controller and hit the streets, the city blew me away. The level of detail and sheer size of Gotham is staggering. It’s alive, breathing, and crawling with danger on every corner. The addition of the Batmobile gave me mixed feelings at first—would it be just another vehicle to drive around? Nope. It became an extension of Batman himself: a tank, a weapon, and a high-speed escape machine all rolled into one. Driving through the streets, switching between racing and combat, was pure adrenaline and added a whole new layer to the gameplay. The free-flow combat system returned, sharper than ever. The fluidity between brawling and gadget use made me feel like the world’s greatest martial artist, even when surrounded by dozens of enemies. The added fear takedowns and predator challenges pushed my skills to new heights. Stealth sections were tense and rewarding, especially when stalking through massive enemy hideouts. It was that classic Batman cat-and-mouse feeling—only darker, and deadlier. The story is the heart of the game, and it’s a dark, twisting tale. The Arkham Knight himself was a mystery that kept me hooked—someone who knows Batman too well and wants to break him. But what stuck with me most was the psychological toll. The game delves into Bruce Wayne’s fears, regrets, and trauma in a way that feels raw and personal. The hallucinations, the nightmares, even the way the Joker lingers inside Batman’s mind—all these layers made the story more than just a crime thriller. It was a deeply emotional, sometimes unsettling journey. The cast delivers powerhouse performances. Kevin Conroy’s Batman is stoic but vulnerable. Mark Hamill’s Joker—though mostly a haunting presence—remains iconic and chilling. The music swells and fades perfectly, pushing the mood from brooding to explosive without missing a beat. Visually, Arkham Knight is stunning. Gotham is dark and gothic, dripping with rain and neon. The lighting effects alone make nighttime patrols unforgettable. The Batmobile combat, while innovative, sometimes overstayed its welcome. Some missions dragged, and the tank battles felt a bit repetitive. The open world, as gorgeous as it is, could occasionally feel crowded with fetch quests. Still, these moments didn’t overshadow the overall experience—more like bumps in a thrilling ride. Arkham Knight isn’t just the finale—it’s a weighty, personal goodbye to a Batman saga that defined a generation. It captures the hero’s strengths and flaws, the glory and the pain, with a boldness that stuck with me long after the credits rolled. If you’re ready to face Gotham’s darkest night, with all the power and doubt of the Bat, this game will pull you in and refuse to let go. A powerful, immersive end to an epic Batman journey. It’s not perfect, but it’s unforgettable. And for me, that’s exactly what Batman’s story deserves. Rating: 9/10

WORST ARKHAM GAME EVER!! The Batmobile was forced, so forced that Batman would be naked without it. Not only the side quests but also the main quests are quite repetitive, some main quests are even like direct side quests. In order to extend the story, they kept presenting things that were already obvious, by creating a "mystery". There is not even a boss fight!! There is no boss fight in the last game of the huge Arkham series. Although Origins was not a very popular game, it at least offered us a boss fight. It's a disappointment to me and no, I don't care how good the graphics look. I played this game for the story, not the graphics. I don't even want to talk about logical problems in the story. Batman Arkham City > Batman Arkham Origins > Batman Arkham Asylum > Batman Arkham Knight

its a batman arkham game, ive played all 3 (except origins - no hate to that entry) but this one is easily the best title, better than City imo. fight me. anyway, it builds on literally everything from City, and i actually dont hate the tank stuff, the tank combat is fun, somewhat challenging and actually DOESNT overstay its welcome for me, despite what i heard others say. i played with a keyboard and mouse but i do think a controller is the better way to play. performance-wise, this game is buttery smooth and the settings can be cranked to the max on my 3-4 year old GPU. p.s. i did not even attempt to get the secret ending. wont. ever. i know the ending anyway but the riddler trophies are easily the worst part of the game hands down. tl;dr: this game is amazing, literally had zero bugs in 2025. play it. it goes on sale for like £2.50-smth in the UK so def grab it on sale, but even if not on sale, its worth the play.

HANDS DOWN the best superhero game of this GENERATION. no DC game can ever come close to the masterpiece known as batman arkham knight. Graphics are superb and the gameplay is even better. You have all of batman's arsenal at your hands and it is up to you to save the city from its worst attack. Almost every batman villain you know is in this game and there is a unique story for each of them. I just wish there were more masterpieces like this out there. 10/10

Arkham Knight Still Shines — A Blueprint for What Single-Player Games Should Be I've been playing Batman: Arkham Knight since it launched back in 2015, and even 10 years later, it still holds up better than most modern games. The atmosphere in this game is absolutely unmatched — Gotham feels like a dark, parallel universe with its gothic architecture, heavy rain, and older '70s–'80s-style cars lining the streets. It creates a world that's completely immersive and timeless. I love how this game takes you away from the real world without dragging in any real-world politics, arguments, or chaos — it just lets you be Batman in his universe. The graphics are still stunning in 2025. Honestly, they look better than many current games. The soundtrack? Perfectly moody and cinematic. The combat is crisp and responsive, the gliding and grappling are smooth and fun, and the city is dense with detail and atmosphere. Most importantly, Arkham Knight is a complete experience: single-player, story-driven, no live service, no grinding for loot, no internet connection required, and no health bars floating over enemies. It respects the player's time and intelligence. The edgy humor and sharp dialogue add to the immersion. Too many games today feel sanitized, overly censored, or afraid to take narrative risks — this game didn’t. It had an edge, and it made Gotham feel dangerous and alive. If Rocksteady (or WB) simply reused the same map, gameplay, and combat mechanics from Arkham Knight, added a new single-player story with side quests, and stayed true to this design philosophy — it would probably be a Game of the Year again. That’s how strong the foundation is. That said, it’s not without flaws. The constant Batmobile drone fights became repetitive and took away from what made earlier Arkham games great — the boss fights. Arkham Origins, City, and Asylum all had memorable and creative boss encounters. Replacing those with remote-controlled tanks just wasn’t satisfying. Also, the story of the Arkham Knight himself felt predictable. It lacked the surprise and emotional weight of the twist at the end of Arkham City. And honestly, it felt like they ended the franchise right when it was at its peak — in 2015 — which is something I’ve been disappointed about ever since. Still, this game remains one of my all-time favorites. I just want more like it: more games with this kind of immersive single-player design, without online requirements or modern live-service bloat. The entire Arkham series — Asylum, City, Origins, and Knight — has aged gracefully and is still more fun than most new releases. Happy 10th Anniversary to Arkham Knight, and much love to the fans and the devs at Rocksteady and WB. 🦇

One of the greatest video games of all time. The Arkham gameplay formula perfected, I have played this game countless times across several platforms and every play through remains fun, diving deep into this game and understanding all the tips & tricks is so satisfying. On top of all of that, playing on steam with access to mods creates a whole new level of fun.

Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) Batman: Arkham Asylum is a standout action-adventure that truly nails the experience of being the Dark Knight. The freeflow combat system is incredibly satisfying, allowing players to string together fluid combos while dishing out punishing blows to enemies. The stealth mechanics are equally strong, letting you take down foes from the shadows like the ultimate predator. The atmosphere of Arkham Asylum itself is immersive, with a dark, oppressive tone that perfectly captures the feel of Gotham's twisted underbelly. The game also shines with its excellent voice acting, particularly from Mark Hamill as the Joker, which really elevates the story. While the narrative is solid, it doesn’t quite reach the emotional highs of other superhero stories, but it’s still compelling enough to keep you engaged. The game’s design and art direction are top-notch, with a well-crafted environment that rewards exploration and makes you feel like you’re truly navigating the iconic asylum. The main downside is that the gameplay can get a bit repetitive after a while. The puzzles and backtracking can break up the action, and while the combat and stealth are fun, they don’t evolve much as the game progresses. The lack of enemy variety also drags things down a bit. Still, Arkham Asylum offers a fantastic Batman experience with just enough variety to keep things engaging from start to finish. Pros: Smooth and satisfying combat and stealth mechanics. Strong atmosphere and world design. Great voice acting and character moments. Fun for Batman fans and action-adventure lovers. Cons: Repetitive gameplay and environments. Pacing slows down with puzzles and backtracking. Enemy variety could be better. Verdict: Batman: Arkham Asylum is an excellent superhero game that gives players a thrilling, immersive experience. Despite its few repetitive elements, it’s a must-play for fans of Batman or action-adventure games.

This game should be a 10/10 for the Mr. Freeze DLC alone. I never thought I would actually cry in a batman game of all things, but the Mr. Freeze DLC had my balling my eyes out. The main game itself is phenomenal, the graphics still hold up to this day, and the story was very good. Combat was stellar as well. This is a worthy sequel in the batman arkham series!

Batman: Arkham Knight is an epic conclusion to the Arkham series and one of the most visually stunning superhero games ever made. The story is intense and emotional, bringing together many of Batman’s greatest foes in a thrilling final showdown. It really feels like you’re stepping into the shoes of the Dark Knight in his most challenging hour. The gameplay builds on everything that came before, with smooth combat, satisfying stealth, and tons of gadgets that let you approach situations in different ways. The addition of the Batmobile adds a whole new layer of fun, allowing you to chase down enemies, solve puzzles, and explore Gotham like never before. Driving and combat sections feel tight and well-designed, even if some players find the Batmobile segments take a bit of focus away from on-foot action. Gotham City looks incredible—full of life, detail, and atmosphere. Nighttime patrols, side missions, and random crimes keep the world feeling alive and give you plenty to do beyond the main story. While the game has a few rough spots, especially with the Batmobile dominating some missions, it’s overall a fantastic finale that wraps up the trilogy with style. If you’re a fan of the series or superhero games in general, Arkham Knight is definitely worth playing.

possibly the best arkham game in the series. almost 10/10 but what couldve been better is if the batmobile wasnt too much of a priority in this game. wouldve been more nicer if most boss fights weren't fought in batmobile and fought in hand to hand combat instead. but combat system and graphics are ahead of its time and very recommended to play.

After doing all of the main story and side missions, (except for riddler i hate his trophies) and 55 hours of playtime, i have to say arkham knight has got to be one of the best games ive ever played. i loved the spiderman games because of a good story, side missions to do, and gadgets/upgrades to keep the game interesting. arkham knight has all of that and more. the graphics were amazing for a 10 year old game, the batmobile is so cool, gliding, combat, stealth, gunplay (in the batmobile) is all great, and i really dont have anything to complain about except for the riddlers storyline being overblown. overall a 9/10 game, im moving on to city next.

This 10 y/o game has better graphics and mechanics than most games today, honestly the story and the way The Joker was implemented into this game despite his death in the previous game is great, the random jumpscares and twists in the story make this game a must play even 10 years after its release. Please do note that 100% completion of the game is too much to comprehend. The main story can be completed in about 10-15 hours but to complete the game and achieve the true ending, can be more than 30+ hours. Definitely had a great time playing this !

Best gameplay out of the arkhamverse, arguably the most accessible, but with glaring flaws such as subpar story compared to the other games. Don't get me wrong, I think the game wrestles with some pretty unique and interesting ideas for batman as a character, but the execution of some parts of the story is severely underbaked, particularly the boss fights. It feels like wasted potential.

The best Batman Arkham game. - Unlike the previous series, you don't get easily bored by gameplay monotony since most gadgets and abilities are unlocked from the beginning and there is plenty to unlock and try with your strategies. - Villain storylines are not boring long or filled with useless crap content, besides Ridler's of course. - The game is pretty consistent with quality throughout all the game, which is really appreciated - Despite the "Batman" not having much "personality", you will get pretty involved with his character and the character's allies, even the villains Truly a masterpiece to end one of the greatest game trilogy ever.

My first Batman game and a very good one at that. Played it a lot and had loads of fun playing it and doing all the side quests. The main plot is very interesting and the thing with Joker just spawning is so unique and perfectly done. The progression is alright, it tends to be tedious to grind levels, but there isn't any need to grind that much, but if you do, it turns out very worth it, since the upgrades in the skill tree really help you out and make the gameplay feel very versatile, fast and quite easy. The only negative is that I couldn't do 100% it, since more than half of the achievements require DLCs and there are a lot of DLCs and I don't really want to spend €30 on DLCs. I will update the review if I ever decide to buy them. Overall, it's a very fun game with a cool story and a very good combat system. I mean it's Batman. Of course, it's cool.

Gameplay is mostly solid, that is when your're subduing thugs or mercenary's, whether it be a fist fight, or stealth but anything involving the car is tedious and boring. The main antagonists, Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight, felt leagues away from the villains in Arkham City. The Arkham Knight is a whiny teen and Scarecrow is dull as dishwater. Not once dose it feel like they are a real threat despite how often they declare otherwise. It feel like every time you stop their evil plans they just announce that it was what they wanted him to do, and it's all part of their plan. Like, yeah right they wanted Batman to arrest their army, destroy umpteen tanks and save the city. Easily the worst of the Rocksteady trilogy, but if your done with the first 2 and you still won't more, it's good enough but I'd wait for a sale.

A triumphant but nevertheless flawed finale to the Batman Arkham series, the emotional moments hit hard, and when this game shines it shines as bright as the bat signal in the sky. however the Riddle challenges have never been more obnoxious, (seriously could have been removed and nothing would be lost game-wise), the fights start off challenging and never stop to the point that it becomes overwhelming to keep track of everything and the frustrating parts are so very frustrating.

This game turns 10 years old pretty soon, and you wouldn't know it from how incredibly it looks and plays. Incredibly immersive, the world is bigger than ever, the combat is better than ever. Some people take issue with the story, and while I see those issues, it doesn't really hold back the experience for me. How did they do it? How did they make a trilogy of games that each continuously improve on the previous game, and yet all three of them are still fantastic even in 2025?
