''Ready to take your RPG Maker MV project a step further? Essentials Add-On pack is a brilliant starting point!''
In what way exactly are you making a step further I wonder? I bought this thinking that the content is like in most other RPG Maker DLC, that you just have to mention in the credits you were using the pack for making the game. SPOILER: It's not enough! At least not for the images...
If I wanted to credit every single art I use, I can find tons of free characters, facesets, tilesets, etc. on the RPG Maker Forums. Even for commercial use. But since I paid for the content in this DLC, I then expect that I just have to mention I was using the pack, and not that I have to mention every Tom, Dick and Harry who is the author of this or that single image or few images at best!
And for those of you who are ready to take your RPG Maker MV project a step further, and are unlike me willing to track who knows how many artists made various single images you used in your game from paid DLC, and are willing to credit these potentially countless artists at the end of the game - yeah, don't buy this either. The product name and description are misleading, there's only a few images in the DLC and none of them are essential!
That said, I was actually still considering giving this DLC a thumbs up, since luckily the music (14 tracks in 3 different formats) licence just needs you to credit the DLC pack when used for RPG Maker and as such is more ''user friendly'' for my project... but I still decided to put thumbs down, since I feel the products name and description are really vague and misleading. There is nothing essential about this pack and it's basically just a music pack.
Except for the 14 tracks that are Ok, there is IMO little content. The asking price for this DLC is totally Ok when on sale, thus if this DLC was being sold as an RPG Maker music DLC pack with a few bonus images, I would definitely give it a thumbs up! Sadly it's not.
