My first Monster Hunter game, and it completely won me over. Dual Blades felt amazing, every hunt was intense, and the world kept pulling me back in. Highly recommended for newcomers.

It's a very unique entry to the series. Although it is by far the easiest of the series, the unique mechanics in this games makes it worth a buy.

I have mostly played this on the switch where i have around 90hrs. Great game The bosses are good and the tower defense story mode is a nice addition. I tried many monster hunter games but this is the one i like, not as casual as the new entries, not as annoying as the old ones.

Certified Rajang hater since Freedom Unite. Oh ye. Game is good, albeit easier compared to other releases.

Old school Monster Hunter style but with modern tech. I've waited for a discount and soo here we are. It's a good MH tbh, at first I didn't liked the Wire Bugs but after understanding this gimmic I really like it, I think it's better than the clutch claw from World and wound system from Wilds. This game run on a potato device +1.

Rise is pretty fun and wirebugs is the best mh gimmick of all time to me. Does it make the game easier? yes. Does it make it more flashier? hell yes. More fun? HELL YES. Wirebugs just mitigate the amount of bs some monsters can do and reduces the chances of me dying while having some of the most flashiest moves ever. Its too good. Haven't tried wilds yet (cause no money) but for now, rise will keep me entertained for a while longer since there are still quest i haven't cleared in sunbreak. All in all, rise is a very good mh game and the one i had most fun at. Highly recommend this game if you can't afford wilds but haven't tried this game yet

Fast pace. New switch skills mechanics. Some new monsters. Good performance optimizations. Not recommended in itself. Incomplete experience and quality without the sunbreak dlc. Do get the dlc to get the game's true form.

I bought both Rise and Sunbreak at full price on Switch and PS5. This is my third copy on Steam but true 4k. Rise/Sunbreak is a good game and often considered the pure bloodline of MH series with hardcore game play which is not beginner friendly. By now the content of the game is full and competent offering tones of fights and late game farming.

Monster Hunter Wilds if it ran like a video game and not like a bowl of hot slurry and had bombastic ninja flips and a shittier mount system that brings the rest of the game down. I have like 500 hours on Switch don't mind me. Good game, fun game.

Monster Hunter Rise plays like a more casual, faster-paced game, as compared to Monster Hunter World. That said, it is still a very enjoyable experience that I would recommend to newcomers to Monster Hunter as well as veterans of the series. If you are looking to hone the fundamentals more so, however, I would recommend playing World over Rise.

My first monster hunter game and I absolutely love it! I plan getting 100%. The combat is very fun, fast, and exciting. I enjoy the use of wirebugs and the skills they bring into the game. It reminds me of MHGU (Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate). Pros: - combat - new monsters are interesting and fun to fight - old monsters are implemented well - endgame grinding is only necessary for those who wish to do so. you don't need to anomaly grind to see every monster (looking at you grinding lands) Cons: - wouldve preferred less monsters from MHWorld (but thats just a personal preference, dont let it stop you from trying rise) Overall, I would recommend Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. I can't speak for the game without the DLC as I've played too much of both and they have blended together.

to anyone who wants to start hunting monster in monster hunter franchised, i will recommend this game to play first before Monster Hunter: World or even Monster Hunter: Wilds. This game is a good start to learn every mechanic in the game franchised and should be easier than other series. 100% recommended

Weird stuff happens even when the game is not in focus, had it in background and suddenly get forced into game window and apparently it has recognized some keys being pressed even though I was not in the game window... After this MH:World also crashed my entire pc so yeah I am very negative about this entire series now.

Pretty great overall. Its a bit hard for a nooby like me to get the hang of without using alot of tutorials or having someone to teach but its worth it. I played world years ago and gave up on trying to learn it, it just had a bit too much friction for the learning process but been playing this for a bit now with another friend who also has almost no experience in MH games, and so far we have both had lots of fun with this. Graphically It looks pretty nice to me. Some of the gameplay feels a bit clunky, like MH Rise still feels kinda archaic and like its a bit behind on control scheme side of things. I know if they changed it too drastically they may turn off alot of fans, but i think back to how Armored core, a series that kinda popped up around the same time as this series also had a very archaic scheme, but overtime it did evolve to be much more "standard" to other games. So maybe a future game will update the controls. Outside of the clunky feeling controls however, the gameplay loop is solid and combat is engaging and fun. I like that there arnt really "classes" so you can just change up your gear and weapons before a hunt and decide to try different things out at any time.

Starts very slow and wouldn’t recommend the base game for long time vets. The game really starts in the kingdom area and brings back some favorites. Primordial malzeno was a great fight. Really enjoyed the QOL gathering updates they did. Been playing since MHF2 and would recommend but wouldn’t say it does anything groundbreaking.

I will only recommend this game if you get SunBreak. Base Rise is pretty painful to get through but once you get to master rank it is all worth it. The new switch skills and the followers along with new monsters. The game improves drastically with master rank. Overall I would recommend playing this game though.

Monster Hunter Rise delivers a unique action game experience through an addictive incentive loop that makes it hard to put down once you've gotten your bearings with the initially daunting control scheme. I can't speak to how it stacks up against the rest of the series, but I can confidently recommend this game by its own merits regardless. If you buy this game and find yourself wanting more once you've hit the end, I also recommend the Sunbreak expansion!

Overall fun game. Performs well, good variety of hunts. Introduction of the follower system can help people that need extra support but don't want to do online coop, or just enjoy their favorite NPCs as company. Wirebug system and freedom of mobility can feel very strange in the monster hunter setting, but they can be a boon if you enjoy them. Art style is dramatically different from World and Wilds. Everything together makes for an unusual, but not fully unwelcome experience. As with all recent monster hunter titles, the major dlc (Iceborne, Sunbreak, what ever the one for Wilds will be) is a crucial part of the overall experience and enjoyment.

MHGU and Sunbreak are still the pinnacle of the franchise. The weapons are so fun to use and you can style switch on the fly for more variance. There's less "hunting" in this game but I enjoy getting straight into the action anyway. Mizutsune/Valstrax remain goated too-

I love the way i can play support but also do lots of damage and be in the actual hunt, hunting horn has been really fun, only problem is it's a lot better with friends and a lot of mine aren't really interested or didn't give it a full chance.

This game wins in its simplicity in fallowing the original formula oh prep, eat hunt repeat with a nice story and fun hunts too boot the wirebugs definitely make us a bit overpowered though. wish we had more food cutscenes though.

Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak Review: After hundreds of hours across the series, Monster Hunter Rise felt like a shot of adrenaline — fast, fluid, and fun as hell. Then Sunbreak came in and raised the bar again, turning great into legendary. Rise brought insane mobility with Wirebugs, and it changed everything. Hunts became more dynamic, more vertical, and way more stylish. The Palamute? Absolute MVP — no more long treks, just full-speed chases and aerial dropkicks off a ninja dog. And every weapon? Feels so satisfying with Switch Skills and wirebug counters. But then came Sunbreak — and with it, Malzeno. The moment that vampire dragon floated onto the screen, I knew I had a new favorite. The design? Regal. The theme? Chilling. The fight? A perfect blend of beauty and brutality. Every time I face Malzeno, it's not just a hunt — it's a duel. 9.5/10 — Long live the Bloodborne Dragon.

I love this game but MHW was better to me. In this game i really dont like the Rampage guests and fighting monsters are too easy also dont like the stupid little bite/nibble moves that some of the monsters use is REALLY annoying. AND NO DEVILJIHO?!

A very good game with very bad things. One of them is the online quest search is horrible, one of the worst so far, it seems like the team has forgotten how to do the functionality.

Monster Hunter Rise or Risebreak! Development during the year of Covid and releasing to the Steam after 1 year of Switch releases. This game brings me back of Generations Ultimate style with WIREBUGS instead filling the gauge to activate the weapon skills but it has some flaws. I will bring the Rise based game Pros then Cons later. Pros :- - 15 Weapons Type has lots of variation skills ability in wirebugs, so much weapon to play with! - The Rampage Quest is more like Tower Defense with friends/npc really good except it has optional required listing. - The characters in Kamura village is really memorable when it comes thru quest. - Players can meet up friends in the village outside from the hub that's QoL changes! - The Title Updates brings a lot of Elder Dragons to hunt with some collaborations! - The Apex Monsters are really challenging to hunt & Narwa/Ibuki has a good theme song! Cons :- - The Spiritbirds are THE HASSLE TO COLLECT because they nerfed WELL DONE STEAKS & MAX/ANCIENT POTIONS! - SO MANY STICKERS REWARDS IN THE EVENT QUEST! STOP IT! - The Locale are nostalgic from the classics WITH CLIFFS DROPPING YOUR ASSES EVERYTIME! - PAID COSMETIC DLCS Really!? - The Story progression really snoozefest & SHORTS that makes Main Hunter as a Support Character that looks goofy as hell! - The mounting monster system in this game I don't like at all no matter even has the option to turn off. Now, lets do the Sunbreak Pros & Cons, Shall We? Pros :- - The Story is really really GOOD! I did enjoyed for the most part! Finally Main Hunter as main point of the story. - Bringing 4th Generations Monster is quite good! Damn I loved Astalos as Always! The Electrical Guitars! - Bringing the Frontier Monster aka Espinas/E.Flames really good freshing to hunt. - Gaismagorm are really good fight like a siege truly best! - They bring Amatsuguchi back as the Last Title Updates! Also Malzeno Origin form as Bonus Final Title Updates as well. Cons :- - Weapon augment are the worst and most of it you need to progress level of Anomaly Investigations to 200. Don't talk about Talisman/Charm, they did improve a little but still the same to me. - Hunt RISENS & APEXES AT THE SAME TIME!? Are you drunk? Hellooooo?! - New HQ but STILL NO DAY & NIGHT CYCLES? We living in Iceland?! - No point to grinds all monsters achieving as Anomaly Special Investigation just to Stamp Monsters listing in the Hunters Profile, a WASTED THING TO DO, There's a lot to put of Cons list base & expansion dlcs I'm just lazy to type more. If y'all skipping Worldborne to play this title, go play it and take your time DO NOT BURNOUT in your playthrough experience just like mine. My Overall Ratings to Risebreak is 6/10!

Idk how to begin. Pacing is fast, doesn't give much of a story, but the combat in this game is so flexible and versatile. You get to fit right with your preference of fighting the monsters, and strategise to swap between Switch Skills. Combat is quite similar to MHGU, but up a notch. Wirebugs is a marvel, traversing terrain could never be more easier. Palamutes? Gotta go fast. Although wished that this game would have more of a MH4U story vibe, still ranked one of the Top 3 Monster Hunter games in my list. 8/10 recommend it.

My favorite monster hunter that I've played. So many great unique mechanics like wire bugs, switch skills, hunting helpers, and wyvern riding that just make hunts so much more fun for me. When I'm doing well the combat feels soooo smooth. All cutscenes are skippable and no forced walking sections like in world/wilds. Lots of content to get through and the monster selection great and diverse. Its one weakness is that doing multiplayer with randoms online is a lot harder than it is in world or wilds. If you only plan on playing with friends though its the best.
