mfing trash, POS, ubiconnect.
It blows my mind that it is more convenient to pirate now days than buy legit. I can't believe it! It's way simpler and easier!
How? Why? Who thought slapping yet another dogs..t launcher to a game is a good idea?
They retroactively attached it even to old titles like this so you have to do extra useless work just register to yet another useless launcher! AND, you have log in every time you want to play too...
Why?
WHY?
They even removed the ability to play offline I guess, since I can't start the game in "-offline -offline_mode".
It still want's to connect to connect.
But I DON'T WANT TO CONNECT! I want to play the game! Offline! Alone! Singe fricking player! Without the BS.
If I want to connect I will play with the wifi button.
It worked perfectly fine before. They procured ZERO, that's 0, losses by not having a s..t launcher glued to their game in the past 10 or so years. People were happy to play their game. I were happy.
And now I will have to go and download it another way just so I can say f... you to these stupid, greedy corporate clowns.
These modern game studios and publishers are retarded.
The triple A industry will collapse and these stupid publishers/studios will die out.
And I can't wait it.
Conjurers of their own destruction.
They squeeze when they should release.
The world would be better without Ubisoft.
Which is ironic because they were really cool and loved back when they first announced AC. And a long time after that. But I guess if the hero lives long enough it inevitably becomes the villain.

[b]Sneaking like it's 2013 - and it still hits just as hard.[/b]
Picked this up after more than a decade, and it honestly feels like I never left. Graphics might be a bit outdated, but that's a part of its charm now. This was the golden era of stealth, and the stealth gameplay holds up beautifully - genuinely reminded me why I enjoy these types of games. With achievements already added by Ubisoft on Steam, if you're on the fence - definitely pick it up. The multiplayer/co-op ones have been left out, and you can 100% it by yourself ([i]it's also not that long to get all achievements, which might be a plus or a minus depending on your preference[/i]).
[b]Quick tip[/b]: From other reviewers I have seen that they've experienced crashes every 30 minutes due to the game trying to connect to the now dead servers - just put the [b]-offline[/b] tag in your launch settings, and you should be good to go.

Although the voice actor for Sam Fisher is different, he does alright and the game is an absolute banger.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist attempts to modernize the franchise but falls short of its predecessors, particularly Chaos Theory.
Stealth Mechanics: The game introduces a scoring system with "Ghost," "Panther," and "Assault" playstyles. While stealth is still an option, it lacks the depth and challenge of earlier titles. The absence of a light and sound meter and the emphasis on action diminish the tactical experience.
Voice Acting: A significant change is the replacement of Michael Ironside with Eric Johnson as Sam Fisher's voice. Many fans found Johnson's performance lacking the gravitas and authenticity of Ironside, making Sam appear more like a generic action hero.
Overall: Blacklist offers a more accessible experience but sacrifices the intricate stealth mechanics and immersive storytelling that defined the series. For those seeking the essence of Splinter Cell, earlier titles remain superior.
TLDR: Buy Chaos Theory and enjoy the best version of Splinter Cell that still holds up.

no uplay rewards, no dlcs and no multiplayer functionality because Ubisoft shut down their servers. Don't waste your money

Blacklist is just an alright game, I am glad it attempted to take the Splinter Cell series back to being more focused on stealth after the full on action focused Conviction, but many times during the campaign i felt the devs wished they were making a Call of Duty game with the amount of action set pieces, killstreaks, loadouts, chopper gunner sections and even First person shooter sections where you play as Briggs.
The biggest flaw with this game however is how it changes the core gameplay philosophy from the original games. Gone are the open levels where you got to sneak in, do the job and then exfiltrate out of there. in blacklist the levels are more linear, where you move from start to finish, which means that once you hit the next checkpoint any body you didn't hide earlier doesn't matter anymore. This rewards playing fast and unclean.
They have also managed to make Sam Fisher the most unlikable person on the planet somehow, and the new voiceactor doesn't help either.
The game also crashes ever 30 minutes because of the horrible Uplay service, unless you manage to play the game in offline mode. It's a crime how Ubisoft can get away with selling a game for money that crashes because it's trying to connect to a service that doesn't even work anymore.
If you choose to play this game completely stealthy tho you can still have a mostly good time with this game, despite the game being very bloated with action game design that stain the experience.

Hear me out—I love this game, truly. But in its current state, I just can't recommend it. If you're set on playing it, do yourself a favor and set a timer: you've got about 30 minutes per session before the game crashes. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to restart mission checkpoints because of unexpected crashes. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially for a game with so much potential.
For exemple since the game crashes every 30 min, it's impossible to finish both Charlie Cole's mission since we need to fight 20 wave and THERE ARE NOT CHECKPOINTS WITH SAVES.

It ain't a classic Splinter Cell, but it is a hell of a lot closer than Conviction was. Love Conviction, great game. Sucks as a Splinter Cell. Blacklist has closer level design and balance to the old games, though it doesn't bring back the light or sound meters or the Closer Than Ever system.

What’s more fun than spending money on every little thing in a game you already paid for? 🙄 Microtransactions totally revolutionize the gaming experience! Who needs immersive storytelling or epic gameplay when you can just unlock joy one overpriced click at a time? Genius, really. Now if developers could just tone down the “fun tax” and remember how to actually make great games… what a concept! 🎮💰

This game is such an underrated gem and one of my personal top 15 games ever made. Ubisoft why did you abandon the Splinter cell Franchise? Baffling executive decisions but reality strikes nonetheless.
Outsmarting and using the map design to kill or pacify enemies is just pure fun and even if you get caught, the action isn't too bad and feels like a fair last resort.
Severely under appreciated game. Give us a new game Ubisoft🫵

Didn’t expect much but was pleasantly surprised.
Blacklist picks some notes from Conviction. The fast pace works surprisingly well. The always angry Sam Fisher certainly doesn’t — no idea how a stoic person from previous games can transfrom into someone who passively-aggressively behaves with his own team all the time.
Putting Conviction aside, the stealth is amazing. The shadow system is almost gone in favor of learning the environment and moving towards opportunities. Reminds Deus Ex: Human Revolution at times, except it’s even faster. Side missions are arguably better than main ones due to unique constraints and the level design.
Unfortunately Ubisoft is not great at preserving its own games. The Fusion mod is required and Ubisoft Connect requires the sign in on each game run. This is a running theme for Splinter Cell games — almost all of them need mods on PC to work well enough.
Can recommend to stealth and Splinter Cell fans. Yes, it’s different but it’s good.

A great game, just make sure to do one thing before playing. In the properties section of the game, add the launch command "-offline" without the quotation marks otherwise it will crash every half hour. Similar to future soldier, but solo, and with climbing mechanics like the assassin's creed games. The AI are better than those in wildlands and breakpoint, and are highly enjoyable to fight. Campaign plus a handful of side missions lasted around 10 hours. Would recommend when on sale.

Amazing game, this is my first time ever playing a splinter cell game, its like batman, but with a more realistic style, the main downside like with many other players is it crashes every 20-30 minutes, so you will have to do a simple typo thing with a shortcut, its on the community page, AND, it does count the achievements, all you have to do is open the original game application and they will pop up, they wont pop up while using the shortcut thing.

Really really good stealth game that every stealth fan should give a try. The story is solid and pretty easy to follow and the gadgets give you a lot of different ways to approach any situation. Just make sure you go to properties and put "-offline" under launch options so the game doesn't crash every 20 mins. 8/10

I had really good memories with this game, but I guess today companies are committed to unsatisfy their customers. I had this game on Xbox 360 and now got a chance to play it on PC, but after installing it the game said I had to log in on a Ubisoft Account that I didn't even know existed. After unsuccessful attempts to retrieve this account, Ubitsoft Support claimed that they couldn't verify that I was the account owner, therefore not be able to login in their useless launcher to play the game. It is a shame. This game was reference for it's graphics and gameplay when it was released, a great game nonetheless.

Well its a game that could have been great had the Developers spent the time too fix all the bugs in this game before releasing it. I have spent hours trying to get this game to work properly with help from all the different forums. I would recommend it highly if it weren't for that, so if you don't mind fixing the issues the Developers should of fixed its a really good game that could have been great!

I was reluctant years ago when it first came out since Michael Ironside wasn't the voice of Sam anymore. However, the gameplay and replayability of this is astounding! One of favorites in somewhat modern gaming. I cannot stand what Ubisoft has been doing to the Tom Clancy name over the last decade+, nor their launcher and server shutdowns, but this is a great game I still play. Be sure to play it offline now that the servers are down or the game will crash (-offline -offline_mode in Properties/Launch Options).

The PC version doesn't work properly... Doesn't have online anymore, while pushing Ubisoft's creeper launcher onto you, where they collect our data on us and spy on us hardcore... On top of how it crashes often, if not freezing my WINDOWS 11 GAMING LAPTOP, to where I need to reboot my laptop...
On top of Michael Ironside not playing Sam anymore(nothing against Ironside, as I understand and support his decision to step away for his health and personal life), this ruins this game as a sequel. Bottom line, if especially the remake is this terrible, with tons of microtransactions too, on top of censoring Communist China in the original game's story for the remake... Cause Communist China owns Ubisoft now...
I HATE the modern gaming industry, and the updates this game still gets doesn't fix any of these issues... This game is just garbage on PC. Stay the hell away...

What made this game truly great was the PvP and co-op, with it removed one o the best PvP modes in gaming has been lost. Sure $20 for this is not a bad deal but your paying half the price for half the game.
I don't recommend this game simply for the fact you shouldn't support Ubisoft and there awful business practices. An amazing game ruined by being owned by Ubisoft.

buy a better stealth game where enemies can't instantly spot you from behind
90% of the plot happens because EVERY SINGLE PERSON (except maybe Kobin) is stubborn to a fault. it's ridiculous how up their own ass every single character in this game is, ESPECIALLY Sam.

📌 English Version
Overall Rating: ★★★★☆ / 5
Platform: PC / Windows 11
📜 Story
The story is extremely basic: there's a bad guy doing bad things — neutralize him. Nothing fancy, but it works as a reason to start the mission.
🎮 Gameplay
Playing as a "Ghost" is genuinely fun. There's room for creativity, stealth, and action. However, the controls can be frustrating — sometimes button inputs don’t register, which can ruin a good run.
🎨 Graphics & Style
The graphics are decent, especially considering the game's release year. The visual style is consistent, the environments are atmospheric, and some locations are a pleasure to look at.
🔊 Sound & Music
The sound design is solid: gunfire sounds convincing, footsteps and ambient noises add tension. The music is subtle and fits the overall tone. Voice acting is average.
⚙️ Optimization & Bugs
The game runs smoothly: stable framerate, minimal bugs. A few weird animations or stuck NPCs show up occasionally, but nothing game-breaking.
💬 Conclusion
If you enjoy stealth gameplay, the feel of covert missions, and the freedom to play your way — this game is worth a try. Don’t expect a masterpiece, but it delivers a mostly enjoyable experience. Not recommended for those looking for a deep story or perfect polish — it’s a bit rough around the edges.
📌 Русская версия
Общая оценка: ★★★★☆ / 5
Платформа: ПК / Windows 11
