Did I lose my sanity while tryna %100 this game? Absolutely! But do I love the game? Hell yeah! This game introduced me to Resident Evil series when I was in middle school. (Though I only watched the game back then) And Re2Remake made me a fan of this series last year. After playing the remakes I bought Re7. Even though I watched it 50 billion times before, it was still fun to play. (Also the scariest Re game ever T_T)
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – A Creepy Ride You Don’t Wanna Miss
Resident Evil 7 is hands down one of the best horror games out there. Right from the start, it pulls you into this dark, messed-up world and keeps you on edge the whole time — but in a good way. That constant tension? It works. You’re always wondering what’s around the next corner, and the game does a great job of keeping things unpredictable. The switch to first-person was a smart move. It makes everything feel way more intense and personal. You’re not just watching the horror unfold — you are in it. And let’s talk about the story. It’s surprisingly solid. The mystery behind the Baker family, the creepy experiments, the whole Eveline plot — it’s all super well-paced and keeps you hooked. It’s got that classic Resident Evil vibe, but feels fresh and modern at the same time. Visually and sound-wise, the game nails the atmosphere. The house is eerie as hell, and the audio design adds so much to the experience — every creak and whisper keeps you alert. Bottom line? If you're into horror games with a strong story, great pacing, and a heavy dose of tension, Resident Evil 7 is a must-play. Creepy, intense, and straight-up awesome.

As a longtime fan of the Resident Evil franchise, I’ve seen it evolve in many directions—some great, others a little more divisive. But Resident Evil 7... this one hit differently. Honestly, this was probably my favorite entry in the newer generation of Resident Evil games. Capcom did an incredible job bringing the horror back to its roots, while still innovating enough to make it feel fresh and terrifying in the best way possible. The shift to first-person perspective was bold, and at first, I was skeptical—especially since I usually resist new characters being introduced into a series I already love. But Ethan Winters completely won me over. His journey through the Baker estate was absolutely chilling, immersive, and genuinely stressful (in a good way). The atmosphere was claustrophobic, unsettling, and beautifully detailed—from the creaking floorboards to the grotesque yet unforgettable design of the Molded. What really surprised me, though, was how rich the story was. It never felt like a drag or like filler. Every moment pushed things forward, and the pacing was tight and rewarding. And the villains—my God, the Bakers! Each one felt like a boss out of a twisted nightmare. Jack Baker in particular left a lasting impression. He was menacing, unpredictable, and strangely tragic in the end. They weren't just "bad guys," they were characters—with depth, mystery, and emotional weight. RE7 felt like a love letter to fans of classic survival horror, while also being accessible enough for newcomers. The blend of old-school tension and modern gameplay mechanics was pitch-perfect. I can’t praise it enough. 10/10. Truly unforgettable. Resident Evil 7 didn't just revive my love for the series—it reminded me why I fell in love with it in the first place.

Resident Evil 7 is Perfect if you are searching for a horror game with a good story. It has really good jumpscares, amazing graphics and the story is very interesting. 9.5/10

As expected, one of the most popular Resident Evil games did not disappoint. The story was engaging, the puzzles and mechanics were fun, and the maps were, as usual, cinematic. I would highly recommend it—10/10! It's also a quick game. I finished it in 7 hours, only one of the two endings. The only downside I have with Resident Evil games is the annoying achievements. There are always so many, and they tend to be tedious. I don't find it worth the time to do all the extra playthroughs.

Amazing how a 2017 game is so good today in 2025. Graphics, Gameplay, Story Line, all top notch. As a major fan of RE 1 and 2, this one really have the essence of those games! A must have for horror fans!

For me, the first 2 hours of this game are video game history. Alone for that incredible dread, horror and basically torture p*** the game is worth it. Besides that, the game itself is quite short - and I took my time. Also, sadly, there are parts that keep me from replaying the game again (ship), but then there is the rest of it that just is perfect. It is nearly 10 years old now, and though the lighting has a few issues her and there, it still looks phenomenal. I wish they stayed with this kind of realistic story, because Ive never played quite something like it. Its horryfing. I loved it.

Absolutely loved my time with this game. The atmosphere is insane, creepy, tense, and immersive from start to finish. RE7 nails the horror without relying on cheap jumpscares, and the pacing keeps you hooked the whole way through. Ethan’s journey is intense, and the Baker family is straight-up iconic. Combat feels solid, puzzles are satisfying, and the story pulls you in deeper the more you play. And if you’re someone who likes completing games, this one’s a blast to 100%. I’m getting really close to full completion now, and every unlock, every challenge feels worth it. It’s tough in places, but never unfair. Highly recommend if you want a horror game that respects your time and rewards your effort.

"I thought I was just looking for my wife... ended up attending the creepiest family dinner in gaming history." Resident Evil 7 is a masterclass in atmospheric horror. Switching to first-person was a bold move, and it completely works — every creak, every shadow, every distant thud keeps your heart pounding. The Bakers aren’t just scary… they’re unforgettable.

Longer and scarier than RE8, I’ll start with the positives — this really is a great Resident Evil. The atmosphere is fantastic, the Bakers are truly terrifying, and the sound design is amazing, which makes the game incredibly immersive. The puzzles are creative and well thought out. On Normal, the game isn’t too difficult — it’s actually a bit tougher than RE8, which was very easy. There are also lots of hidden items; you might think you grabbed everything, but when you use the pills that reveal nearby items, you realize there’s so much more to find, which is a nice touch. The mother and father are great bosses, and the garage fight was really original. now the negatif The biggest downside of the game, in my opinion, is that the monsters are very repetitive. They lack variety and feel really redundant, which doesn’t make the game any scarier. I would have preferred classic zombies instead The second biggest flaw — and one that’s often a problem in Resident Evil games — is that the further you progress, the weaker the levels become. The early sections are incredible, but as you go deeper and deeper, or further away from the house, the environments just get worse. The ship, wasn’t a great level, and the cave was even less impressive. but overall the later areas really drag the game down the Bakers are far more terrifying when they’re still human rather than monsters — except for the mother The intro of the game is a 9, the mid-game is a 7.8, and the late game is around a 5+. That’s why I’d give it an overall score of 7.5.

I think this is the only RE that captured the "horror" vibe in all of RE history (Before Village came out). Because you're not a trained police officer or special agent. You are just a guy trying to find your missing wife. It's scary and fun, things became boring after leaving the Baker family's premises though but it's still a game worth buying and playing. 10/10

The game is great but the plant pot design is just terrible, why make a game focusing on puzzles and horror only to leave out a core element of all games of this genre. the plant pots are just terrible and way to overgrown, they don't look realistic at all and there are just way too many leaves. I am going to shoot up my school because this has angered me so much.

I purchased this gem right when it came out. A couple weeks later I got a little time to sit down and check it out, about 40 minutes in and I shut it down and uninstalled. Not because it wasn't good, quite the opposite in fact. I got so creeped out and so stressed in that 40 minutes that i just noped out entirely. I finally started it back up here recently and TBH I'm kind of glad i uninstalled way back then, because now i get to come back and enjoy this excellent addition to RE . I don't think I've had this much fun since the OG 4.

Pros - Probably the most scariest game I ever played. - Combat is very good. - Story is pretty interesting (have a couple of gripes about it through). Cons - The last hour of the game is kind of lame. - Final boss fight is lame.

[I have beaten this game on multiple other platforms] Resident Evil 7 is a perfect mix of camp, "We're really doing this" moments and truly eerie storytelling, performances and atmosphere, It's a near-flawless reimagining of what made Resident Evil 1 so revolutionary, and set the stage for another golden era of survival horror games.

So this game has to be one of the best games ever made. The story is insanely impactful and it left me in a post game depression after playing it tbh. It also had me turn off the game after every jumpscare because it's just scary asf. Play it.

Really good resident evil game. I usually do good in horror games (not getting scared, mostly only on jumpscares) but his one had me really scared all along. I could say this is the scariest game I've ever played and it's not even close. The fear factor in this one is really consistent and good, there were some moments where i had to alt+tab out of the game and search cute cats pictures to calm myself down. The art is really well done and really scary. The survival elements were good too. Puzzles were fun to do and not hard at all. The story is good too; you're searching for your lost girlfriend in a strange house after you receive a call from her after being lost for three years. And then you meet her but she's kinda crazy so if you like crazy girlfriends that's a plus. Of course there's more but that's the general idea. This game is also pretty fun to speedrun once you've beaten it, so replayability is good. Really scary experience, so obviously i recommend it.

Haven't played a horror game this good since the original Outlast, genuinely a stellar experience and the only complaint I could possibly come up with is that the Banned Footage DLCs are a little to expensive for what they offer (they're still cool tho)

Pleased with this series "reboot". First-person perspective grew on me. Thought the atmosphere was tense and legitimately frightening at points. Get-in-get-out main campaign length, though I wish there was more enemy variety and opportunity to use the various weapons. Enjoyed the side content. Overall, 8.5/10, definitely recommend.

hands down the best resident evil, and i will die on that hill. re7 reinvented the resident evil games, and demonstrated the perfect balance between horror, action, and the roots/personality of all the other resident evil games. def would recommend to anyone seeking a good story with some awesome scares.

Very scary and very fun. Story wise It's my favorite RE game (haven't played 8 yet but it's next). For game play it's probably tied with RE4 only because this doesn't have gun upgrades like RE4 (though there are better versions and upgraded ammo). The DLC was really good too (especially End of Zoe, which I 100%). There are fun reasons to do multiple runs, and there are special weapons and other items to unlock. Complete madhouse difficulty for infinite ammo.

If you want classic Resident Evil tension but with modern graphics and first-person immersion, this is it. Just know it's front-loaded with the beginning is a 10/10 horror masterpiece, the ending is a 7/10 shooter. Still one of the best horror games of the last decade.

Gameplay: You either like it or hate it. Not a lot of spare ammo, enemies are pretty tuff for beginners and the game only rewards you, to spit on you even harder. It's not really hard, but you can't just run and gun like in other games. From a horror perspective, this game is more of a jumpscare and chase horror and not a "I'm going to shit my pants" horror. Rating: 10/10 Story: It starts off very confusing and as the game progresses you get more and more pieces of the puzzle. I liked it a lot. Rated: 10/10 Graphics: For 2017, the graphics are top notch Rating 10/10 Price: 20€ for Re7 with all dlcs and Re8 is crazy good. Rating 10/10 Summary: Good game. 10/10

This is Resident Evil's comeback to Horror genre since the classic titles on PS1, which is absolutely a WIN. From RE4 to RE6 were all Action games. Its sad that it took them P.T. Silent Hill demo to go back to Horror genre. And they botched it again with RE Village which is more Horny than Horror.
