Resident Evil 7: Biohazard – A Creepy Ride You Don’t Wanna Miss
Resident Evil 7 is hands down one of the best horror games out there. Right from the start, it pulls you into this dark, messed-up world and keeps you on edge the whole time — but in a good way. That constant tension? It works. You’re always wondering what’s around the next corner, and the game does a great job of keeping things unpredictable. The switch to first-person was a smart move. It makes everything feel way more intense and personal. You’re not just watching the horror unfold — you are in it. And let’s talk about the story. It’s surprisingly solid. The mystery behind the Baker family, the creepy experiments, the whole Eveline plot — it’s all super well-paced and keeps you hooked. It’s got that classic Resident Evil vibe, but feels fresh and modern at the same time. Visually and sound-wise, the game nails the atmosphere. The house is eerie as hell, and the audio design adds so much to the experience — every creak and whisper keeps you alert. Bottom line? If you're into horror games with a strong story, great pacing, and a heavy dose of tension, Resident Evil 7 is a must-play. Creepy, intense, and straight-up awesome.

Amazing how a 2017 game is so good today in 2025. Graphics, Gameplay, Story Line, all top notch. As a major fan of RE 1 and 2, this one really have the essence of those games! A must have for horror fans!

For me, the first 2 hours of this game are video game history. Alone for that incredible dread, horror and basically torture p*** the game is worth it. Besides that, the game itself is quite short - and I took my time. Also, sadly, there are parts that keep me from replaying the game again (ship), but then there is the rest of it that just is perfect. It is nearly 10 years old now, and though the lighting has a few issues her and there, it still looks phenomenal. I wish they stayed with this kind of realistic story, because Ive never played quite something like it. Its horryfing. I loved it.

"I thought I was just looking for my wife... ended up attending the creepiest family dinner in gaming history." Resident Evil 7 is a masterclass in atmospheric horror. Switching to first-person was a bold move, and it completely works — every creak, every shadow, every distant thud keeps your heart pounding. The Bakers aren’t just scary… they’re unforgettable.

Longer and scarier than RE8, I’ll start with the positives — this really is a great Resident Evil. The atmosphere is fantastic, the Bakers are truly terrifying, and the sound design is amazing, which makes the game incredibly immersive. The puzzles are creative and well thought out. On Normal, the game isn’t too difficult — it’s actually a bit tougher than RE8, which was very easy. There are also lots of hidden items; you might think you grabbed everything, but when you use the pills that reveal nearby items, you realize there’s so much more to find, which is a nice touch. The mother and father are great bosses, and the garage fight was really original. now the negatif The biggest downside of the game, in my opinion, is that the monsters are very repetitive. They lack variety and feel really redundant, which doesn’t make the game any scarier. I would have preferred classic zombies instead The second biggest flaw — and one that’s often a problem in Resident Evil games — is that the further you progress, the weaker the levels become. The early sections are incredible, but as you go deeper and deeper, or further away from the house, the environments just get worse. The ship, wasn’t a great level, and the cave was even less impressive. but overall the later areas really drag the game down the Bakers are far more terrifying when they’re still human rather than monsters — except for the mother The intro of the game is a 9, the mid-game is a 7.8, and the late game is around a 5+. That’s why I’d give it an overall score of 7.5.

I think this is the only RE that captured the "horror" vibe in all of RE history (Before Village came out). Because you're not a trained police officer or special agent. You are just a guy trying to find your missing wife. It's scary and fun, things became boring after leaving the Baker family's premises though but it's still a game worth buying and playing. 10/10

The game is great but the plant pot design is just terrible, why make a game focusing on puzzles and horror only to leave out a core element of all games of this genre. the plant pots are just terrible and way to overgrown, they don't look realistic at all and there are just way too many leaves. I am going to shoot up my school because this has angered me so much.

I purchased this gem right when it came out. A couple weeks later I got a little time to sit down and check it out, about 40 minutes in and I shut it down and uninstalled. Not because it wasn't good, quite the opposite in fact. I got so creeped out and so stressed in that 40 minutes that i just noped out entirely. I finally started it back up here recently and TBH I'm kind of glad i uninstalled way back then, because now i get to come back and enjoy this excellent addition to RE . I don't think I've had this much fun since the OG 4.

Pros - Probably the most scariest game I ever played. - Combat is very good. - Story is pretty interesting (have a couple of gripes about it through). Cons - The last hour of the game is kind of lame. - Final boss fight is lame.

Obviously this game we see Resident Evil take on a much more horror focused approach than action/survival. The combat is a lot less fun and engaging imo compared to the other entries, but the game is definitely more interesting, unique and overall very memorable. The Baker family imo were extremely well done as antagonists, and I was really impressed at how well they did the atmosphere, environment, and the scares. Game looks amazing and visuals are all around very cool and fitting. A few of the puzzles were also very memorable compared to puzzles from the other entries, and I really enjoyed the Banned Footage extra content from the Baker Family (esp 21).

Game starts off terrifying and spooky inside the house but then goes a little supernatural and the atmosphere is still there but the helpless feeling you get is gone as you're given an arsenal throughout. First house = spooky Rest of game = fun ride

My First Resident Evil Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is the first RE game I’ve ever played. One of my best friends has been talking about the series for 20 years, and I never really gave it a chance—until now. I grabbed it on sale with all the DLCs on Steam, and honestly? I’m glad I did. The game feels like a twisted mix of Saw and an escape room, in the best possible way. The horror is intense, the atmosphere is creepy, and the tension never really lets up. The puzzles are enjoyable and not overly complicated. What I especially liked is that the game doesn’t rely too much on backtracking—you usually only need to revisit areas if you're going after collectibles, which is great because it keeps the pace moving without slowing down the story. Speaking of the story—it’s actually easy to follow. No weird, overly cryptic stuff here. It starts off simple and slowly builds up in a way that makes sense. The more you play, the more the pieces come together, and it feels really satisfying as things start to click. Combat is probably the weakest part—it’s a bit clunky, but honestly, it makes sense. You’re not a trained super soldier, you’re just some guy looking for his missing girlfriend. That vulnerability adds to the tension. That said, the DLC combat is way better—you can really feel the difference in gameplay quality there, and it adds a ton of replayability. With all the DLC content, Resident Evil 7 offers great value and feels like a complete package. I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much, but here I am, looking forward to more. If you’re new to the series like I was, this is a fantastic place to start.

Finally - a good game. I played the remakes first and loved them, then decided to play the rest in chronological order, and this is the first actually good game in the series excluding the remakes. The first modernized one - the controls are not dogshit, the inventory is not trash, it's actually scary af, and the systems are not surface level. It's a scarier RE2 (remake) and I am enjoying it a lot, after the shallow disappointments that came before it.

This game is what the resident evil games should be. This game nails everything, the atmosphere is creepy and unsettling. The main charecter Ethan is by far my favorite charecter in the resident evil franchise. The soundtrack is phenomenal. The story is great but it has some flaws. But my favorite thing about the game is the charecters are so well made for example when i was playing re7 for the first time i was on edge that Jack was gonna be outside the door or the next room but the backstories for these charecters are so well writen too i felt guilty when i found out that Jack Baker wasnt crazy from the start. This game is the scariest re game ever and i think that all re games should have this level of creepiness. Overall this Resident evil game is my favorite 10/10 The resident were truly evil

10/10 but I think I'm on the borderline of getting panic attacks. This is a very good game, but I would seriously advise against playing it if you're faint-hearted. Update: This is a minor spoiler, but the knowledge of it has prevented me from reasonably continuing the game and I think you should be aware before playing. After entering the yard, there's an area that sufferers of
arachnophobia, or general fear of insects
may find difficult to continue - myself involved. I filed for a refund at this point. I can recommend everything up to the
Jack Baker boss battle
as I found that all fun, I just could not personally continue.

Resident Evil 7 is one of the best high budget horrorgames that I have ever played its not only a good Videogame (which cant be said for most horrorgames) but also scary without relying on cheap stuff like jumpe scares (even though there are some but not overused) If you want to play a game that's gonna scare you while also being fun to play there isn't a better game that you could get. The nature of the game play also provides good replay value while still providing a good amount of scary atmosphere.

This game has a very strong pro-life message which I appreciate. I wish more games represented people of my perspective. I do wish there was a stronger emphasis on American values but I understand that can be hard to work in a story organically.
