If you would enjoy a tactical RPG game with a stealth focus, definitely recommended. If you are looking for a lot of head-on action, you may not like it that much.

I completed it in 19 hours. I bought the game on discount so I feel like I got my moneys worth. Been looking to buy this for a long time, and finally it was on sale. I did it on the easiest difficulty, so you can play it on higher and higher difficulty and get more hours in. I feel it was hard, big fights, that take a long time. But you gain a lot of XP from every fight. Small loot problems but overall just a great game. I really dont do much reviews, but this is great. So much fun.

I'm such a sucker for getting burnt on a game with a heavy tie-in to a table top game made by some no name indie studio that is basically just an ad for people to get into the table top game (looking at you Warhammer). I was totally ready blurt "meh..." and consign this the level of heck where you find stuff like Gloomhaven, Necromunda, and Stygian, but was very, very pleasantly surprised. This game just somehow did everything right. The incorporation of stealth action and turn-based combat is perfect. Even though the difficulty is high, doing the same encounter over and over to get it right doesn't feel like a chore like in even some of my favorite CRPGs. The combat is simple and highly swingy but mostly mechanic based with only subtle inclusion of the hand of chance. The plot is sufficient, but the dialogue is great. Wait, wait. I'm sorry. I forgot to mention at the beginning of this review that you get to pretty much get to be Howard the Duck (yes, he's a mutant, not an alien, but the resemblance is obvious). So if you ever wanted to do that, here you go. (the other guy is kind of Bebop from the Ninja Turtles if that's more your thing, idk have a thing, whatever, live life and stuff)

This is game pretends to be a tactical bla-bla. It's not. It's a stealth game, and a boring one at that. Most of the "stealth" is just waiting.

If you're a fan of the original Fallout, then you will love this game. I've actually played through it twice, and I can count on one hand the amount of games I've done that with.

Absolutely had a blast with this game. Mutant skills turned the battle field into a unique adventure each time. I enjoyed the story as well as the pace of the game. I would highly recommend to anyone that enjoys turn based combat games and needs something engaging and challenging while also enjoying a fun story

If you like final fantasy tactics this game is a go ahead and find out. The movement was a little slow, but the scenery made up for it all. I enjoyed sneaking around the map and finding the lone enemy, and as Dax and Bormen would say "going into hunter mode". Pretty awesome story line, and I loved playing as mutants. It was very hard at first, but by the end I was snowballed and took out their entire camps with just a few tactical moves. Great game, totally reccoment.

Enjoyable at first--a fun twist on the XCOM formula. But the enemies are overpowered and you end up hitting a wall where you can't progress any further. It becomes very repetitive and overall totally frustrating. I liked the duck.

Truly beautiful graphics even on an average gaming PC, all set to high on start! Unusual control system (that I've got to update prior to playing again), and is quite challenging as a new player. Turn-based (but not in the usual sense), a delightful mix of 'real' movement intersected with then turn based combat. High recommended with anyone with a control disability (like me) as during combat you can take your time. A truly delightful game starting off with a huge wort-hog & duck in a post war torn world, with loot to find with careful looking, looking forward to meeting the third character soon. Really going to have fun I hope with this! Recommended, well done the 'The Bearded Ladies' for creating something really different and enjoyable to look at/around

I have Items I can't remove from a backpack using using either a controller, or keyboard. I noticed this problem was mentioned a couple of years ago, and doesn't seem to have been fixed.
Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden – 100% Completion Review (with DLC)
All achievements earned, every artifact recovered, all character upgrades unlocked, full completion of Seed of Evil DLC Mutant Year Zero blends XCOM-style tactics with real-time stealth in a ruined world filled with talking ducks, killer robots, and haunting quiet. Completing everything reveals a game that rewards patience, precision, and creativity — not grinding stats, but learning the battlefield. You control a team of mutants scouring the Zone for answers and salvage. What sets this apart is how every fight begins before turn one. You sneak, isolate, and position. Stealth is not optional. It is survival. If you go loud at the wrong time, you are probably reloading. At 100 percent, the game demands mastery of its systems. Every mutation, weapon mod, and ambush angle matters. The maps are tight but open enough to allow tactical flexibility. Upgrades are meaningful and permanent, and the challenge escalates fast. Hard mode with Iron Mutant turned on is a brutal, fair test of your planning. Seed of Evil is not just postgame filler. It continues the story while introducing new enemies that counter familiar tactics. The addition of Big Khan, a moose with fire breath and devastating crowd control, changes your party composition in meaningful ways. Completing it is essential to truly finish the journey. The world-building is lean but rich. Environmental storytelling does most of the heavy lifting, and it works.

Isometric exploration/turn-based combat game from a Swedish studio about a team of mutant stalkers going around various discrete levels to gather scrap for their oil platform home called The Ark, leading to discovering their origins Combat is fairly XCOM-like, with the exception that %Hit is only ever 25%/50%/75%/100%, no 99% misses here Voice acting is good, some minor grammatical errors in subtitles Achievements range from easy to tough as nails, i.e. Ironman mode on Very Hard - save scumming was necessary
