This is an absolutely fantastic sidescrolling action title that EASILY ranks among the best of the current era. What we have here is a game that's oozing style, charm, and humor; it's got creative characters and fun dialogue; adds a novel investigation system into it's super-solid platforming-and-brawling core; and last but certainly not least, has some of the most-satisfying, most-intuitive -- most consistently-creative -- grappling/"sling-shotting" EVER implemented in a video game... which it puts to the test in some terrifically varied, hand-crafted level designs that always want to surprise you with new challenges and never settles into a groove.
The only slightly lacking areas are a hub level that's not too engaging to explore, and a few difficulty spikes and/or unpolished challenges ('Goo Tidal Wave' from Gootopia Stage 3 that accelerates arbitrarily instead of moving at a constant pace to constantly put pressure on you, I'm looking at you!). Also, you can't use the dpad on menus, which is just kinda odd. I'm gonna be clear though; those minor negatives can't put a dent in 'Double Cross' when it comes to pure enjoyment factor.
Plus, it's a rarity as far as modern sidescrollers go - this DOESN'T have unambitious, low-effort, lo-fi "faux retro" pixel art, AND it's a proper, honest-to-God, level-by-level sidescrolling action title instead of yet another repetitive slog of an indie 'Metroidvania' or tossing you into bland proc-gen levels. Thank God! This is the kind of effort that deserves support even if it wasn't so insanely fun to actually play, which - if I haven't made it clear already - it thankfully is. Big-time!
If you're a fan of games like Wayforward's 'Shantae' series or 'Freedom Planet', this is your next must-play title! Can't recommend this enough. It's just really enjoyable (^-^)

Definite recommend. While it doesn't do anything particularly groundbreaking or outstanding, the game feels quite nice to play once you get used to the controls a bit. The art is good, the animations especially are very smooth. The music is solid. The story is quaint, mostly consisting of interacting with cast of very unique-looking and stylised characters; it rarely overstays its welcome, serving largely as a break between levels, while being interesting enough not to make you want to skip it entirely.
The combat isn't anything too deep, mainly having you fight a rotation of 10 or so simple enemies, with the enjoyment of the fighting coming less from its mechanics and more the satisfaction of wrecking enemies. Its especially fun to pick up enemies' thrown weapons and chucking them back at people.
The platforming is not very difficult nor punishing, but its also not so easy as to be boring. Moving around feels nice once you get used to the feel of it, and as you get good at the movement you can zoom through levels very satisfyingly, tearing apart enemies as you fly across the screens. The proton slinger especially is a ton of fun, just tossing yourself all over the place, with sets of mechanics that differ just enough to keep every level fun and interesting.

So I’m going to lead off with this game should have gotten more attention than it did. It’s good. It’s got it’s flaws, but it’s a good complete experience that I enjoyed from start to end, with the exception of world 3. Combat can basically be described as ‘spam attack and dodge’ which can lead to multiple scenes of simply waiting for the waves of enemies to end so you can get back to the fun platforming. But the story was well crafted and kept me intrigued, and the side plots among the characters were something I’d love to see even more of if there’s a future installment one day.
Very very good plot and platforming mechanics, Keyboard support is poor at best, beat-em up sections are mediocre. Pick it up if you're looking for an action game that's just plain fun, because the core gameplay was obviously designed with fun as it's principle, as it should.

It's a surprisingly smooth platformer with good level design and gameplay mechanics. Seemed janky at first because of some weird frame drops, but that went away pretty fast. Boss fights are a bit easy tbh. hardest one for me was Ripjaw, because I had forgotten you could dodge lol. Glass cannon tho... that makes things a lot spicier. Gonna try that next. Hopefully the rest of the achievements after beating the game aren't too hard.
BTW, The arcade level is ridiculously fun, but once you get the high scores, they stay there.

A cute-looking and moderately challenging MMX-ish platformer. The plot isn't a heavyweight, but has enough intrigue to string me along. Would like to see a sequel or two in my lifetime.

Great game! Exactly what I wanted it to be.
Great level design, music, visuals, movement. I enjoyed story. Combat was a little easy but the focus of the game is platforming and the level design which it excels at.
I have 100%ed the game at 10 hours so not exactly super long but a fun time.
Very happy I stumbled across this game.

I recommend. Not very often I pick up an indie title and it ends up being so addicting I beat it in one sitting. No hate on indies, my attention span is just super picky. I got it on sale and I feel I got way more than my money's worth!
cons:
- boring start
- level art
- story leaves so much to be desired, the characters have so much potential but no one gets fleshed out much
- some of the music
- overall low budget feel
- character movement is ok i guess, not bad but its missing a lil something and is occasionally jank.
pros:
- The level design. Is so. Freaking GOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!! SATISFYING. ive never had this much fun slinging around. i actually took the time to get the high scores in the 2nd level of the 3rd dimension. it is NOT for the faint of heart but dang it is satisfying to beat.
- VERY interesting character design
- the first level in the third dimension is glorious eye candy
The pros honestly outweigh the cons, and the first level is deceptively bland. I think if you like 2d platformers and appreciate neat level design you'll get a kick out of this one. It's on sale at the time of writing so get it while it's hot!

Double Cross is one of my favorite games. Not because it's a title that introduces any revolutionary concept or playstyle, but because it knows what it sets out to do, and does so spectacularly.
Zahra is an incredibly enjoyable heroine to follow throughout the story, and her moveset remains simple while providing options for expansion and a high skill ceiling. The combat isn't complex, but the game never gives you the feeling that it wants it to be.
It has a short but killer soundtrack, a fun story, and a cast of characters that are as memorable as they are unique (looking at you, Pineapple!).
If you want to experience a short adventure through multiple dimensions with funny commentary, mild interactive puzzle elements, all on top of a story remixing the classic "who dun it" premise, then the platformer Double Cross is a game you should definitely pick up and experience.
Happy dimension jumping, R.I.F.T. Agents!

The main thing that attracted me to this game was the fact it had zero Steam reviews. I love giving smaller unknown projects a chance and Double Cross did not disappoint. The overall short length if the game compliments the level design and pacing well. You platform your way through 3 levels of 3 main areas. Each area has a unique mechanic that gets built upon nicely through the 3 levels. Combat is simplistic while still allowing for a degree of finesse. As you unlock upgrades you gain new moves that allow you to combo enemies in some pretty fun ways. There are some extra challenges for folks that love 100% completion. Enough to give you more to do without being overwhelming. Unfortunately some sections felt a bit tedious to get through. However as mentioned earlier the game is pretty short so you wont get stuck for long. Despite the simplistic art style the game features colorful character designs and diverse (enough) environments. Overall a quick fun game for people that enjoy platformers. 6/10 Does enough to stand out but doesn't do anything exceptional.

This game had promise, I enjoyed the story and characters. Humor and music was good, and game play solid... until...
Stage 2 of the Robot world, the forced high skill play in the form of 6 "mini games" no thanks, I dont have time for that mess.

This game was great! The art, characters, and world are fun and I liked the core mystery of the story. The gameplay was fluid, though I had some trouble being reliably good at the core mechanic, which led to some trouble with time-sensitive sections later in the game.
I left it on overnight one time so my "hours played" is a bit skewed, in practice it probably took me about 10 hours. I went for all upgrades, but not all achievements. Fights against standard goons felt easy to me, but I still found a bit of a challenge with the bosses, and I prefer that part to be too easy rather than too hard. Bosses had some creative patterns and fun animations. I'd love to see a sequel someday!

It kind of plays like a hybrid of Guacamelee! and Grapple Force Rena, except without the depth of either of their core gameplay mechanics. Still, there's an abundance of charm, creative aesthetics, and attention to detail on display here and I can recommend this to anyone who needs something refreshing to pass the time.

I can't recommend a game that brings nothing new to the table.
I really want to like this game but to me it's just mediocre.
There's 3 worlds with 4 levels each, 3 standard levels then a boss level. It doesn't break up or spice up gameplay enough through each world.
Every level is just platforming lined with little arena wave fights, Which would be fine if the platforming and fighting wasn't so basic.
The arena/wave fights are always the same. Each world has about 3 enemies that it throws at you over and over.
The fighting is... fine. Nothing really special, just punch a bit then dodge every once in a while.
The platforming options are super basic; jumping, wall-jumping, dodging and slinging.
The slinging mechanic just isn't enough to pull the platforming through. (No pun intended.)
Also speaking of platforming, the game isn't exactly bug free. I've gotten stuck on corners, walls and completely clipped through moving platforms which become annoying very quickly.
Story is incredibly generic, Dialog is painfully generic, characters will be like "My family was killed that's why I'm evil." with a "sad" music track playing like the player is supposed to care. Nobody can care about a character that was introduced 10 minutes ago and has the same plight as everyone else. And sometimes you cant read the dialog, because it plays during gameplay, so unless you can play at the bottom of the screen and read the top, then your gonna have to just stop in middle of the level... or the boss fight. Yep, try and read dialog while fighting a boss. Voice acting would solve that problem, just sayin'.
I feel like the only thing holding everything together is the art and even then the level backgrounds are super flat. Yeah "haha" the 2D game is flat. That's not what I mean. There's multiple levels where I had a hard time figuring out what was a background element and foreground element, and died because of it. Also because everything is so flat it makes the level look boring, no real depth on anything, just some basic parallaxing.
The first 2 worlds where the biggest offenders, some levels where just grey metal background or beige rock texture, no contrasting or interesting color choices that I can remember. The neon city or "Funderdome" was a nice change of pace in terms of color but even then It's still just as flat.
Overall just a lot of stuff I've seen done before, and done better at that.
Wow, that's a lot of negativity. Let me talk about what I LIKE about the game.
The portraits/designs. The character designs are great, It's at the forefront of the game for me and it's the only thing that really engages you during dialog and I wish there were more than just a couple expressions.
(More expressions paired with voice acting would have been great!)
The "Detective" work. Each world you have to put together a case of evidence eventually leading to an arrest warrant for that worlds boss. You will have to go around and talk to your colleagues and give them certain items to build up evidence. Even though it was extremely simple, I enjoyed it.
The "Universe" or "lore". I like the whole organization that monitors Interdimensional travel thing. It's cool and I think you can do some cool stuff with it.
Alright, that's all I can think of to comment on. There's still plenty more I didn't cover like the music or secrets/gems.
Even though I don't exactly recommend this game It doesn't mean I hate it. I definitely wouldn't put this much time into writing if I thought the game was garbage. I just think it's too average. there's some good and some bad, but the core gameplay just isn't enough for me.
Again, I really wanted to like the game. this is by far my longest review and most serious review. I usually don't review games in-depth because I'm not very good at it, But I figured I'd give this one a go. Hopefully It informs someone.

Just doesn't feel particularly impressive, but the most disappointing element is just how bland the story and world design is.
The environments are very flat, which is normal for a two dimensional game but it's flat in that the visuals lack a sense of depth to them. Yet at the same time the visual and backgrounds are designed in a way that's meant to suggest depth, yet it still feels flat. Which together gives the world a very shallow, unrefined sensation to it. Furthermore the environments are made using very heavily recycled assets, and it's noticeable extremely quickly on entering the first map. This rapidly makes it feel like the game is just trying to waste the players time but stringing them along through levels made from budget sets of assets. Every obstacle and every screen is just the same visuals rearranged. Again, it's normal for assets to be recycled in a game such as this but it's done in a barefaced way that makes it feel extremely obvious and again, shallow.
A fair amount of the assets in the game are of a distinctly lower resolution then everything else, noticeably blurry or with jagged edges. While items on the ground often don't even look like they belong in that place at all because the dimensions of the item make it look like it should be in a different, less flat environment. Even in the protagonists own animations, when they attack their bodily proportions change and their head becomes distinctly larger for no reason. Then it shrinks back after they stop attacking.
The combat and platforming mechanics otherwise are fine, although it feels like the game introduces too many mechanics at once which diminishes the sensation of progress and advancement.
What really just makes it especially dull is that the story commands zero interest. The characters are mostly all just different people, a few have distinct personalities but as a whole they just feel bland and forgettable. Almost immediately the story goes into full plot mode, introducing danger and a villain along with the mystery to find their identity. The plot gets so serious and intentional yet the player has had no time to develop any sense of immersion or investment in the world. While what's taking place within the plot is exceptionally average and ordinary, just going through the motions of action story tropes. Thus making this just another generic, overly serious and rule abiding story about a mysterious villain who does bad things and the protagonist defeats them.
The world design is lacking it's own depth what with it all being typical fantasy things. Here's a tentacle monster, a slime monster and a robot monster. Here's a swamp world, a city world, a desert world. Here's a bunch of people with different inhuman physical characteristics all introduced at once with no backstory to their species so this is just the typical alien race parade. They're aliens because that's supposed to make them look more interesting but none of the effort has been put in to explain or validate the fact they're an alien, so them just being an alien is a low effort attempt to make the characters seem more interesting then they are. The investigation mechanic seems more like a chore then anything, again going through typical action and mystery story tropes in an overly serious and sudden plot that commands no investment.
Most of the things introduced in the game are named after what they are, which is instantly a sign that the creators lacked creativity. It's not really funny or quirky to have literally everything named after what it is, with a suffix added on to make it sound slightly different. Upgradium, the thing you upgrade with. Might as well call it Upgrade Rock or Upgrade.PNG as that is the level of imaginative complexity you are portraying with that kind of name. The villain looks cool, but him having little green unironic dinosaurs as minions makes him appear incredibly underwhelming right to start. He presents himself as typical bad person who wants to do bad things and you're supposed to care about that. His identity is a mystery, well his identity is either going to be a character you don't know; so his identity doesn't matter, or his identity is going to be a character you do know; which will only matter if you're actually invested in the character he turns out to be.
It feels like the story and world is just another recreation of the generic science fiction and or defeat the villain plot that has played out numerous times before in numerous other games, books and other media forms. Combined with the heavily recycled and time waster type environmental design it just seems like there's no real reason to play this. Predictably it's highly unlikely to offer anything new compared to other games.

Double Cross is a hidden gem of a action platformer that I wished I tried out sooner. The concept of a police force monitoring multiple universes is a genuinely neat premise, and the game does very well with it. The character desings are for the most part distinct from one another and have decent personalities.
Story wise, it's not very convoluted so I appreciated that. It was fun trying to figure out some of the tasks and eventually unmasking the principle villain.
I've used a controller for the game, so I cannot speak how well it works with keyboard + mouse, but the gamepad's layout is spot on.
Speaking of controls, the protagonist herself responds pretty consistently with my inputs and I've rarely if ever ran into problems on that end.
So far, I'd recommend this game if you can get it on a discount; 20 USD is a bit high IMO for this game, but it does have great quality and charm.

I've beaten the game 100% after about 10 or so hours. Overall I've really enjoyed the experience from start to end. There's a lot of care with dialogue between characters, each having their own personality mixed in with humour. While most interactions occur in between stages in a hub, there is a lot of dialogue within stages which adds to the story and atmosphere of the characters. The music is well done. The animation is smooth, with solid controls. Combat involves physical attacks as thrown items, with some limited abilities. There's a grappling mechanic to both move around and support you in combat which adds to the depth. Each of the stages in the game introduces some sort of new mechanic or concepts which keep the levels fresh. Strengthening your character involves finding upgrade resources, which can take some time to locate.
I hope they make a sequel to this as the mix of story, fun game play, and characters add together nicely.
Pros:
- Fun game play
- Attractive art style, but this is subjective
- Solid dialogue
- Good grappling mechanics.
- Smooth animations
- Great atmosphere
- Interesting characters
- Light hearted story
- The developers fix issues that are found, which help cut the cons
Cons:
- Limited variety of enemies
- After beating the game, and finding collectables, there's not much replay value
- Limited # of abilities that are actually useful
- Screen scrolling wasn't smooth before, but this was patched to be smoother recently

A fun action-platformer, like Mega Man X might be if he left the buster at home, wrapped up in mystery and intrigue. It's simplistic but very well put together. Also refreshingly short--I finished in five hours but could see myself replaying for speed or poking around for secrets.
The game recommends you play with a controller, and I agree. Trying this with mouse-and-keyboard effectively would probably need key brain regions remapped.

So this is an interesting one for me, this was a very charming game that in some regards could have been better for sure but is by noooo means bad, it's a little short and relies on you searching for some well hidden power ups for that extra bit of play time and I don't mind that in games to a degree but that's a personal gripe so feel free to ignore that, you by no means need all of them to beat the game by any means dood
Okay so the bad, combat is actually great with a power meter, why is that bad? the power ups are all linked, I could use one of my two offensive abilities but then I run the risk of too low health, it's rare that happens honestly but it's always a fear of any gamer and honestly? it doesn't charge up fast enough to make it worth wasting a heal charge when your normal attacks do more than enough damage.
Music is a bit meh, not bad but just nothing too energetic either, I guess you could say it just felt like it was there but never felt like it made moments more impactful in any kind of way, honestly music is a medium I feel that isn't a super important factor as long as the games fun to play which it is but it's an improvement that would have made this game a lot more stellar if it had some decent music which typically with a 2D game is needed more than most games dood
okay that's the bad, the good is that the character design is spot on, the art has both a cool yet somewhat cute looks to it, the game flows nicely with it too and it does a great job of making the characters feel like part of the world while also making them stand out enough that they don't clash and become missable dood
The games environments are nice looking and great to traverse, especially with the sling mechanic which is even incorporated in some boss battles and make for some real fun puzzles, even the dodge mechanic adds to moving through the environment and it all just becomes so fun with what they use, it's rare I enjoy actually going through a level dood.
Combat itself is good, a little stiff at times but it has enough freedom to become fluid and do some oddly fun combo's, the story is pretty decent with a fun element of discovery as you go through it and try to guess who the bad guy is, I'd say it was obvious but I don't wanna spoil over such a silly detail dood XD
And that's it really, it's just a really fun game, it could have been a lot better, would have liked some voice acting in it for sure, even if it were cheesy Saturday morning cartoon voices, in fact that would have been better in it's own way looking at the art style and feel of the game, I say get it and hope ya'all enjoy dood ^-^7

It's a Good Game, lots of fun to be had despite some minor jankiness here or there especially in the combat.
the platforming is solid and story while simple is still decent, it's no huge mystery in terms of plot but the twist was still something i didn't see coming so i give it a plus for that.
Pro's
-great platforming
-decent level design
-character design is pretty great
-for what little we are able to experience i do enjoy the characters themselves
-combat can be fun once you figure out how to work around the jank
-that twist tho
-the final boss fight
-I like the music
-i can feel a lot of love went into this from the devs so <3 to them
Con's
-the grapple mechanic while fun sometimes just throws you backwards.
-combat can feel unresponsive at times and at others too responsive it's way to easy to do the wrong move and end up hurting yourself for it
-the mystery is pretty weak as the culprit is kinda obvious even from the get go
All in all I recommend This game, Is it amazing? in it's own way
is it the Best? no
but it's pretty great in it's own right and well worth the price

Was introduced to this game sort of last second, through the release trailer for switch on youtube (only seeing a few screenshots on a gamexplain video a few months prior and thinking Zahra looked cool), Devided to give the game a buy, and I've loved it since. Proton slinger platforming is unique and challenging, the set up of R.I.F.T is very fun and could lend itself to more adventures. The mystery story itself isn't ground breaking revolutionary or complicated stuff but the characters are likeable and most are charming. Very fun aesthetic as well.Hand to combat is simple but enjoyable and the Upgradium elements are a nice way to give power ups and adding a layer of customization. Would absolutely recommend.

This game is pretty fun. It's sorta like the mission system in the Megaman Zero series, but with the combat style of something like Guacamelee.
Controls are maybe a tad too fluid for me, and maybe not as precise as i may have wanted at times (I tried to 100% the 2nd funderdome stage and had to give up), but they're fine. Only real gripe I have is that it would've been nice to not have to re-beat stages if you're going back to 100% the collectibles.

This is a pretty good game for fans of platformers, took me six hours to complete, collecting about half the collectible items I believe. The game certainly needs some polish and quality of life changes, such as better detection for wall jumps, adjusted hitboxes of certain damaging obstacles, fixing whatever bug makes it so some inputs just don't seem to register. Overall a positive and fun experience, but, if they can iron out some of the random issues, this would be a very solid platformer.

Charming platformer with decent variety and super fun grapple mechanics! A little rough around the edges, but a good time none the less! The grapple mechanics add some nice momentum to the platforming, and the combat is just deep enough to provide a nice change of pace every now and then. I absoutley adored that the dodging mechanic was integrated into the level design as well as the combat, and while not every level knocks it out of the park, there was never a time where I wasn't having fun!

...that's an interesting one. Initially I thought it's a metroidvania kind of a game, but it is not. Not really. You do unlock skills, you even have levels and permanent upgrades from these, but maps are mostly linear and you don't really need all these skills to beat them. They just make things easier and a few upgrades are required to get specific achievements. But ultimately, you don't need any of them. So, it's a nice platformer with fun action elements. Not even once I felt like controls are clunky or unresponsive and all mistakes I made were all mine. At one point of the game (Funderdome II) difficulty spiked through the roof, but you have infinite tries and unless you want to get all the achievements you should be fine by taking 5th place in local minigames to pass it. It doesn't even count in invincible and speedrun achievements. So, just be patient and you'll do it. In general platforming is quite easy-going, though and fights are not really intense unless you make them so with a Glass Cannon upgrade. It's ridiculously powerful, but you die in a single hit. Yes, you'll have to use it in the final fight in order to get an achievement, so have fun.
Since what you do in this game is an investigation (of an attack on interdimensional police HQ) it's worth to mention that the result of it is unexpected and while being obvious you likely won't see it coming. At least I didn't. Maybe even twice. I think the plot is good. It keeps tension and looks like an actual investigation. There are also a few little side-stories too.
The music and overall art levels are fine. Nothing is over the top, but everything is decent and looks and sounds nice. So, nothing wrong here either.
The only negative I can point out is the overall length of the game. It feels a bit too short. At least I wouldn't mind a few more worlds and side stories to solve.
Overall it's solid 7/10. Not an amazing game, but a really solid one and you likely won't regret buying it even for a full price. Well, unless you are stuck at the Funderdome II or final fight attempting to get all achievements. That's your problem. ;) Neither should take more than 1-2 hours, though.
Ah, right, make sure to play it with a controller. It is playable without one, but it feels a lot better with it.

Ever since I first found out about this I looked really forward to this game. After having a lot of fun with Runbow I was sure this would be the same level of superb quality. But I was wrong. It was even better.
What's this game about? You're Zahra, a young agent working for RIFT. One day, a mysterious person intrudes into the organisation and flees shortly after. But who is this "Suspect X" and what are their intentions? That's where you come into place. You go through a dozen of lovingly crafted levels to search for items and information that could help this case. After gaining enough evidence you'll be ready to find out who Suspect X is. Or will you?
The levels are very fun to go through, each of them bringing a new gameplay element into the mix. Slinging is tons of fun, especially after you really get the hang of it. So is the combat which can be enhanced with unlockable moves. The music is quite enjoyable too, though I have to be honest and say I could only remember about a handful of themes a week after finishing it.
One thing I HAVE to mention are the character designs. The characters themselves are pretty likely themselves, but the designs are OUTSTANDING. All of them, even minor enemies, look super fun. (Ada Lovepaws is a blessing in every possible way.) Massive props to the designer(s)!
Overall, I'd definetly recommend to pick this up. I had a great time going through it and will definetly play it again sometime. Please check it out!!

Controls are tight and customizable (5-button mice are supported), levels are diverse, bosses are reasonably challenging, collectables and optional objectives are presented, the story is interesting and engaging. It's not completely worthless, but it's kind of boring. Its biggest problem is that it's too darn easy: puzzles are usually very easy to solve; combat is simplistic, button-mashy, and over quickly, and this includes the bosses; and the only occasionally challenging part, using the laser grappling hook, nearly always allows a lot of chances to correct mistakes you might make.
The plot aspect is no worse than any other family-friendly game like this, but the "system" of gathering and analyzing evidence could not be more shallow, and serves only to make you run around the base a million times--no real detective work by the player. The optional character arcs are honestly better just by virtue of not pretending to be actual gameplay.
On the graphics and sound side, the character designs are decent, and some of the special effects are nice, but everything else is just boring: level graphics and backgrounds are distractingly under-detailed, and the music is uninspired and forgettable. I'm grateful that the character dialogue isn't voiced, I can't imagine it not being annoying as heck. Voices are limited to the usual player character grunts and boss cackles.
The game's not really bad, despite all of the above, and I did enjoy it from time to time, but taken on the whole, it's hard to recommend. Overall, the game comes off as amateurish, which is surprising given how many people worked on it--when the credits rolled, I half-expected to find out it was a one-person project. If you have a hankering for this type of game, get it on sale, and you'll probably be satisfied. Otherwise, I'd pass on it.

Copy pasta from the discussions ~
1 - controls are VERY floaty / slippery. 9 times out of 10, a wall jump fails. I tried holding a direction whilst doing them, and not, and the accurcy of them is pretty pathetic.
jumping is very flaoty, running is very floaty,- little to no control in the air.
2 - the game runs VERY badly. Whaty do I mean by this? camera lurching forwards inch by inch as you move in a straight line ( it should really stay centered on your character at ALL times, not the way it works now ) the backgrounds all stutter as you move left to right.
mind you, it IS running at 60 fps/ maybe if I had a choice to unrestrict fps, it would be better.
3 - This is Unity, but I don't think it's the current build, this is a very cheap Unity engine.
for the price thy're asking, this game is not worth it.
it runs badly, controls badly, your attacks have literally no weight, your character, has no weight to her actions.
the " fun setting " is confusing, I have no idea what any of this means ; AAAAAAA? wth does this mean for the game? Pineapple? Kawaii? what are these settings?
no v-sync options ( althoughm unrestriocted fps might help how badly this game loosk while you're playing it )
but bottom line is, it just isn't fun to control this character. It isnt fun to fight with her, the jumping is bad, the platforming is a literal nightmare thanks to this, and adding a grapple beam just muddies the water even more.
if you want this style of game, grab a Shantae, grab a Hollow knight, grab anything else.
I bought this on sale, it really should be half the sale price.
not recommended.

It was an enjoyable experience. Nice art style, music and story. Controls could be tighter but they do the job.

A short but fun romp through time and space. With a more grey morality then normally used, Doublecross is inspired by PS platformers of yesteryear, but does well to stand on its own.
Well worth the money, even if its only good for one run or so. Would love to see a sequel!
