Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

Ignore these clowns complaining about the DLC and how much time they have to spend getting parts for upgrades.... THIS is how the Monster Hunter series was suppose to run before they ruined it and simplified it for our recent influx of ultra-casuals who just want everything handed to them. This game rewards the time you spend, its easily 250 hours from start to finish if you don't grind for your optimized gears. If spending time playing a game you paid money for isn't your style and you want to beat the whole thing and not come back in under 40 hours this game ISN'T FOR YOU! If you enjoy getting time and bang for your buck, if you enjoy crafting different items and cosmetics, if you enjoy different events for every season and a friendly ACTIVE player base that stays true years and years after release, and if you enjoy a game you can come back to over and over again even after you "beat" it for hours and hours of fun then THIS GAME IS PERFECT! This game holds your hand at the beginning to get you use to the hunts and then tells you WATCH YOUR GEAR, you will be farming for mats, you will be out in exploration mode gathering supplies for different potions and gear pieces. You'll easily get 300-500 hours out of this game before beating it if you're working of different gear pieces. I've bought it twice now, once for PlayStation and then recently here on steam because ITS JUST THAT GOOD! Ignore the Ultra-Casuals who've never had to work for anything in a game in their life, if you grew up playing older games like me that didn't hold your hand and rewarded experimentation then this game is for you!

I don t write reviews often but well time to make an exception. This game while there were ups and downs delivered a lot of fun for these cuple houndreds of hours. The end-game monsters were tough but it felt rewarding finally mastering the mechanics and beating them. Overall it was a long and fun journey and now it s time to move on to Rise/Wilds will see. The grind is the game and that's how monster hunter has always been and I love it.

Truly an incredible dlc that fleshes out monster hunter world. All the hate this dlc gets are from ass players who didn't learn how to play monster hunter as they cheesed all of the base game using defender gear. 1 of the greatest dlc's of all time, 100% recommend if you actually played the base game.

O loop de gameplay da DLC não é tão bom quanto o jogo base, chega a ser entediante grindar as wyverns, além de parecer que virou mais um jogo de rolar do que combar? Eu juro que no jogo base eu não passava tanto tempo rolando, mas não sei, talvez seja skill issue, de qualquer forma essa expansão foi bem decepcionante pra mim

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne was my introduction to the series. I put around 900 hours into Iceborne on Playstation, and about 120 hours on steam, and can confidently say that it is one of my favorite games. Even after playing through Monster Hunter Wilds, and most of Monster Hunter Rise, I still found Iceborne to be more enjoyable. To me, this game had more of a home feel and iconic monsters and music than what I experienced in Wilds and Rise. I would 100% recommend this game to anybody even slightly interested in the monster hunter series. Yes, the clutch claw and tenderizing are a bit annoying, and yes, the guiding lands and decorations take a lot of grinding, but I still enjoyed every hour I put into this game and have no regrets.

much more challenging than base game, but oh so worth it. you are rewarded for the time you put into this with fights that will test your skill as a hunter. It is helpful to have a guide handy or a veteran to be there, but do experience everything as solo as possible. It is worth it. Velkhanna can suck my dick though ngl.

Aight so a raid boss is NOT supposed to be a boss with the literal agression of a dark souls boss. Healing is basicly not an option cause of 2 factors 1. The boss will target you when healing and you die 2. The boss will oneshot you and proceed to die This one dragon even hunts me in my dreams or while I’m wearing his armor man However the fat cat that makes my food is perfect 10/10 great game

I've been playing this series since MH 1 in PSP and never missed one. I can say this is how Monster Hunter should be. I can say this is the perfect MH for me, mechanics wise only, not including story. Its successor games Wilds and Rise are a meh for me. I'm still teturning to this game even though I already purchased the 2 games after this. I'm still in love with this.

The new monsters and fights are fun but clutch claw kills any enjoyment the gameplay loop had in world Prepare to spend most of the fights wallbanging and re-tenderizing cause if you dont then enjoy 25+ minute hunts.

story fights are OK, endgame sucks. "monster fighter" is not what I bought the game for, DPS checks are never fun, hitboxes are sometimes invisible, there are so many stuns that aren't technically stuns, so you just can't mitigate them with stun resistance. the grind is abyssmal. "fun with friends" but literally everything is fun with friends so it's not worth buying £35 of dlc over. Tenderizing gets old fast, there's like one viable endgame build for your chosen weapon and there's a lot more grind if you want to optimize the decoration slots. Don't even think about building for a secondary weapon, because guess what - more grind, in materials and competence. some fights are so biased for or against certain weapons you might be tempted to swap temporarily, but your your time is truly better spent uninstalling than fighting the same thing 50 times for a crown. everything is a damage sponge. every attack is reused. every fight has a (usually annoying or easily avoidable) gimmick, there's a lot of content locked behind multiplayer, and the gap between lategame and endgame(fatalis) gear is so vast that playing with randoms has a 50% chance of being a free win(they have it) or an unavoidable wipe(they suck).

Don't buy this the base game is amazing but iceborne is trash it's not fun at all it torture you the entire dlc is just rage bait

I Enjoyed all aspects of this DLC. I was actually surprised, neigh, shocked, to see it had mixed reviews.

Play this until Wilds either gets OPTIMISED or until Wilds gets its equivalent DLC expansion
