Thief: Deadly Shadows

One of the best Games ever. Unfortunately "Thief 4" was unable to match the success of its predecessors.

Favorite game from childhood. Needs a little tlc to run smoothly now but got it working with the sneaky upgrade.

Older graphics, but 1st person sneaker gives a nice challeng.

When a game or franchise is passed onto another studio, you expect the game to lose its identity and become something completely different, surprisingly this is the exact opposite with Thief Deadly Shadows. Thief Deadly Shadows stays true to its predecessors, altering little things and improving on its world building. The cities feel unique from one another, with different factions roaming, traders that you can buy equipment and sell stolen goods to. As you progress the story, the world changes because of the impending doom told by the prophecy with new enemies invading the streets over the final missions. The game still has its supernatural elements intact with a few missions focusing around the dead, the haunting and the demonic. Gameplay is easier in this game. It's easier to knock out enemies and kill enemies compared to the previous 2 games. All the standard arrow types make a return besides the rope arrow which was replaced by climbable gloves, this gave me mixed feelings since its easier to evade trouble by climbing stone walls. It was enjoyable to see them use these changes to their advantage with windows placed high up or secret compartments placed on the side of a building. The game has some janky movement which can either add charm or annoy people. The stealth is still fun, the new usable items help with wiping out tons of enemies. I am disappointed with how secrets are done in this game. The majority of them are just in chests or behind certain pillars. In T1/2, most secrets required you to search a room, finding something to interact with, putting out a fireplace to reveal a passage or cutting at the odd banner to reveal a hollow wall. The game lacks these unique ways of searching a room but it doesn't take away from the overall experience. A sequel everybody should give a chance Recommended: Thief Sneaky Upgrade mod
