Half-Life: A Place in the West - Chapter 2 is a large improvement on the first chapter, which in my opinion dragged at times. All the characters have been established now giving the writers more room to expand on the story they're creating, which seems to me to be a little inspired by "The Walking Dead - Season 3" except set in the Half-Life universe. The artwork as well as the narrative which floats back and forth between the humans and the vortigaunt harmonizes a lot better this time around.

Sorry for the copy-pasting my own review, this DLC currently only has 1 review, and it's on Russian, soo...
Alright, my first comic book review.
It's a professional-quality fan-made comic in the Half-Life universe. For what it's worth, they even got the official licence from Valve (even though they give it to anyone these days *cough* Prospekt *cough*). When you press "Play" in your library, you get presented with an authentic HL2-style menu, with animated backgrounds, grey window settings panels, and yellow floating bubbles of commentary. Click "Start reading" and select a chapter.
Talk about the comic, Dumbass!
After a quick recap, in case it's your first taste of Half-Life, [strike]or you don't remember anything because you played them fking 10 years ago [/strike]. This is probably the best (and only) Half-Life 2 comic I've ever read. It sets up an easy-to-follow plot quickly and without any complicated backstories. There are pieces of the main character's life sprinkled in throughout to give the reader a sense of what kind of person he is and what his goals are, while spicing up the "good guy gets his girl back" scenario with some new and original character traits. Only the first chapter is free. It was a warm return to the Half-Life universe, and I strongly recommend this book to any Half-Life fan. The second chapter, while costing more than a soda, pushes everything up to 11, you can clearly see how much the artists and writers progressed, and the storyline finally gets a proper backbone, with clear objectives. And then they break it's fucking spine. P.s. Anyone downvoting this game because the DLC breaks their 100% achievements is a moron, you can just remove the game from your account, at transaction history.

Well, this is the second issue of Half-Life: A Place in the West, a fan made digital comic book set in the Half-Life universe. It obviously continues the plot from the first issue, and it does so in a pretty interesting way. While there's a few details that I think might go against "traditional" Half-Life lore, I still think the writers have managed to write a compelling and interesting story, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes next.

Although the quality of the artwork has dropped fairly significantly in my opinion, Chapter 2 is still a great addition to this story. Even though the artwork has been degraded, it still looks pretty good in it's own right; if Chapter 1 had launched like this, there would be no complaints from me.

I don't know why they would make someone pay for individual chapters of this comic series, if anything the only time you should hve to pay for something like this is if you wish to buy the complete series and make thoes who wish to have it for free to wait this long between chapters. I like the series but I dont like the fact they make you pay for something that makes you wait so long just to wait again and pay for the next chapter.
