Presence is a short, half-hour horror game created by a solo developer. Within it, you come to learn of a horrific mass murder at a (presumably kindergarten) school, where the occupants were locked inside with no means of escape. You'll simply be exploring one small floor of this location, finding keys and notes while experiencing some mildly disturbing phenomena. For a first release from a solo developer, Presence isn't necessarily bad; it just doesn't offer much that's worth playing or paying for. I've personally played free games of similar ilk that had more substance than what is presented here. Vladimir Gussakov managed to pull off some alright tension, and the story is actually pretty good, but what he neglected to add was any sort of soundtrack or audio design. Even one good horror-themed track could've gone a long way to heighten the atmosphere and sense of dread in this release. Additionally, the character movement is janky when moving from side-to-side, and that would need to be addressed in future titles.
Rating: 2.0/5.0 - It's not awful, but it's not great.
The Horror Network Curator | Group Click for Gore

When you're gonna ask people to pay $6 dollars for a game that can be completed in a half hour (my actual runtime was 32 minutes), you really need to pack it with an experience. Unfortunately, this game is minimal on just about everything. The game goes like this; go to room, read note, go to room, get key, go to room, read note, on and on and on. You probably spend more time reading notes than playing the actual game. In terms of scare attempts, there's virtually nothing. Some loud noises in the background, a boy standing in a doorway, and a hanging body that occasionally swings. The build-up doesn't even lead to a climax; you simply move into the last room and the game is over. The level design is good and there's an interesting premise, but there's just not really a game to play, and no added heightening of suspense in terms of the visuals. It's just the same thing from room to room. It's not a good sign when the stuff you're reading in the notes is far scarier and more interesting than anything you're coming across in the actual game. There's potential here somewhere, but it needs more work. Gameplay provided so you can see/decide for yourself - https://youtu.be/Qu0IHUM7NII

Yeah. I'm gonna need a refund. It's a walking simulator. Find a key, hear a loud BANG. Read a note, LOUD BANG then the lights go out. Walk, walk, walk, walk. No hiding. No enemies. No running. Nothing. Just walking for 20 minutes to see "The End"

Firstly I read some of the bad reviews and good reviews before purchasing I know the game is cheap £1.69 for me so I thought not going to lose much if the game is bad. The bad reviews were saying that there is nothing to do in the game just walking around find a key hear a loud bang collect another key etc. However I like games with an eerie atmosphere although there wasn't much of atmospheric music our sound effects the game still felt creepy to me so I would recommend this game but like I said I like walking simulator games with the occasional banging and noises, but there wasn't much of it like I said, the game was pretty silent most of the time. My gameplay is here if you wish to check it out. https://youtu.be/ILg7QhY11No

Super scary game. It has a lot of gore and death in it so hopefully you aren't squeamish. The scares were numerous and very scary the only downside is that it can be completed in about 30 minutes which it does warn you about in the beginning. The story was pretty good as well just kind fucked up. There were also a few bugs and one that made me restart but that is cause I kept messing with the bug over and over. Overall I would recommend for a quick 30 minutes of horror for $6. If you want to watch my play through you can check out the link below. https://youtu.be/IS5xnxl6o_E

Played on Linux using Proton, Some settings don't save or remain as you set them, so once your in the Game press ESC and set the settings again (Volumes, Camera Shake, Mouse, etc) and once you quit/exit to desktop when loaded up again the settings change again so back to step 1, start game and set your settings. It's another asset horror Game, but at least the Map is somewhat new, has a few puzzle's, nothing to brain taxing, No running from a monster, no running at all, just walking, limited sound fx's, but i think this might be it's strong point, as when a sound does happen it will make you jump, does have some nice touches like find an object to move heavy objects out of the way, find an axe to break wood panels, etc, On first load of the Game the menu was not in English, not a big problem just click on the 2nd/middle option to get to the settings and then your see it, Very short Game took me 0.7 Hours and i was stuck a bit with the last puzzle, No save's as this Game is short and to be played in one sitting. I do recommend this Game but best bought on Sale.

Just the way I like 'em-creepy, logical puzzles, background story, no dialogue, no enemies. Some reviewers complain about lack of music, but would you hear the crunching sound of broken glass underfoot, which adds to the creep factor? I would like to know more about the kid from the forest. What's his story? The real horror is at the very end. It seems the negative reviewers completely missed the fact that you are playing as a mother looking for her missing child. What does she find? You have to be a parent to understand.

Pretty good game but very short which is a shame, I had a few jump scares, it has very nice frame rate and graphics, well done.

Boring, short, generic, crappy jump scares and then when the game is about to finish it gets interesting and creepy. What a waste...

I would have loved to seen more of the game and it's story line. besides getting myself cornered behind the door and getting jump scared by my own shadow it's a really good game. good mechanics, unpredictable jump scares. At times when I thought something was going to happen, nothing did until I turned around. Kepp this game updated with more content and I can see it reaching big AND maybe make other games. meh its 6 bucks, worth it i'd say. atleast the dev tells you that you can complete it in 30 mins or less, i took my time, got an hour out of it, Dev's still learning im sure, Got a good story i'd say, audio scares are pretty dope, Dev should keep refining and adding rooms to the game for sure and maybe shoot for a playtime of 5-6 hours in long run, this could become a pretty scary and dope game with the right mechanics in play, got the story for it for sure, Now you just need to turn the pages into the game ;)

It was definitely creepy with the atmospheric feel to it. The Dev said it takes about 30 minutes to play. It took me about 45 minutes because I'm a wimp, but I really enjoyed the game. Check out my video of me playing it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ErHa2SXNm0&t=3s

The game starts in Turkish, you need to set it manually to English once in game. Terribly slow walking. Terrible head bobbing (can be disabled). Text heavy, I skipped every text letter basically. Short game, it's like a demo and it's not very fun to play. Too many puzzles for such a short game. You'd wish you actually had a friggin' flashlight all the time. I admit one jump scare got me. This game had potential but overall, I didn't enjoy the gameplay. True it's not expensive... but still not recommended.

Short review: I bought this game at a discount. She disappointed me! Standard graphics in real engine, I tried to play on 3 devices, 2 of them lagged very much, every 10 - 15 seconds! In steam, the passage of the game (community content) is completely different, in the current version, the game leads me to no clear place and does not allow me to go further! What struck me the most was that when trying to collapse the game and go to the desktop, there is an icon of the engine on which the game was made, and the program itself is displayed as "Myproject9" - it's a shame, I put 2 stars, just because it works. It seems to me that the reviews are screwed up...

The game is not bad and it knows how to scare very well and the story is very interesting but it is not worth 5 euros, the game lasts ONLY 30 minutes on a very small map where you can hardly interact with anything. The author has shown that he knows how to create stories and scare the player, and at the current price I recommend the game. Previous price 4.99 I could not recommend the game, for 1.59 you have 30 minutes of good horror and unhealth ambientl

Not bad for a first release by this developer. It's short and sweet. Doesn't break the mould and try too many new things, and if you've played any indie steam horror games you know the drill. Explore, find keys, open doors, get scared, solve a puzzle, get scared again, etc. But it does try to set an atmosphere. In addition to the abundance of gore, there's a couple of moments where you encounter said "presence" and they're the highlight of this being standard, competently made horror walking simulator. I definitely plan to check out what they next put out.

I get to a certain point in the game where that game either glitches or crashes, I can provide a screen shot of the scene, if replied to. I also watched a walk-through to make sure it wasnt something on my end and I was doing everything the same as the walk-through. You have to use this stick of sorts to move a piece of shelving out of the way of the door, it does not move far enough for me to get out like it does on the walk-through. I feel the game could be decent if it wasnt for this one bug that is literally 2 mins into the game. I tried all the common self troubleshooting methods as well to make sure the game didnt download incorrectly or format wrong.
