My review might be somewhat biased since this game was a great part of my childhood, generating golden memories with a friend I used to play together on the Xbox 360...
This game is just wonderful and fun as I remember, the sheer creativity that you can go about with this game is something that I missed a lot, especially combining weapons together for some ridiculous albeit funny uses. Actually, that's what games should be! Ridiculous and funny! Something a lot of AAA games nowadays seem to completely disregard, as the developers give you the absolute safe slop of a game. ANYWAY!
It's not that this game doesn't have its faults, escort missions are better than I remember since you can actually give items for your escortees to defend themselves, and most of the time you can just run past the zombies and they'll follow without taking much time. STILL! Escort missions in a zombie apocalypse game, and one that has strict time into it... Let's just say I used to suffer a lot in the past haha
Also, I just love the psychopath human bosses, to this date... It's also what stands this game apart from other zombie apocalypse shooters - Each and every psychopath has a distinct personality and resolve, each one with its own mechanics, and let's not forget the cutscenes when they appear and die which are just... MWAH, chef's kiss.
When it comes to the game, it's close to perfection to me. If only they were a bit more generous with the timed events (or changed it somehow), and escort missions were a bit more convenient...
NOW, when it comes to the PC port. It runs very well on my rig, the quality of the image is paramount and the game runs seemlessly with no appearant lag spikes. Haven't checked but it's probably running steady at 60 fps. My main pet peeve is the pad support for this game, which is completely horrendous, so I had to play with a keyboard... I also can't set fullscreen off for some reason, like... come on devs...
