My review might be somewhat biased since this game was a great part of my childhood, generating golden memories with a friend I used to play together on the Xbox 360... This game is just wonderful and fun as I remember, the sheer creativity that you can go about with this game is something that I missed a lot, especially combining weapons together for some ridiculous albeit funny uses. Actually, that's what games should be! Ridiculous and funny! Something a lot of AAA games nowadays seem to completely disregard, as the developers give you the absolute safe slop of a game. ANYWAY! It's not that this game doesn't have its faults, escort missions are better than I remember since you can actually give items for your escortees to defend themselves, and most of the time you can just run past the zombies and they'll follow without taking much time. STILL! Escort missions in a zombie apocalypse game, and one that has strict time into it... Let's just say I used to suffer a lot in the past haha Also, I just love the psychopath human bosses, to this date... It's also what stands this game apart from other zombie apocalypse shooters - Each and every psychopath has a distinct personality and resolve, each one with its own mechanics, and let's not forget the cutscenes when they appear and die which are just... MWAH, chef's kiss. When it comes to the game, it's close to perfection to me. If only they were a bit more generous with the timed events (or changed it somehow), and escort missions were a bit more convenient... NOW, when it comes to the PC port. It runs very well on my rig, the quality of the image is paramount and the game runs seemlessly with no appearant lag spikes. Haven't checked but it's probably running steady at 60 fps. My main pet peeve is the pad support for this game, which is completely horrendous, so I had to play with a keyboard... I also can't set fullscreen off for some reason, like... come on devs...

It was fun an enjoyable, but the crashes are the most annoying thing made worse by the save system. I was going through leveling up then did a boss battle, not thinking the entire game would just go to a black screen. I lost all that progress because you never think to head to a bathroom and save. Then the game dosen't even launch without the blackscreen now.

My First Dead Rising Game I was immediately hooked into the story, but, I had 2 nitpicks that bugged me once the actual gameplay started: 1. The slow walking, 2. The limited combat mechanics that made boss fights very frustrating. After playing for a while, I realized all my struggles were because I was playing the game wrong. All my problems were easily fixed with item buffs that made the gameplay soooo much more exciting. Once I had the quirks out of the way and could fully enjoy the game for what it was... Oh boy, what an amazing game. They certainly don't make this any more. The unique characters, creative boss fight cutscenes, the sexy sexy camera angles and BEAUTIFUL female characters! I love this game, but I also hate it for reminding me of how shitty and censored modern video games are. 10/10 - Chef's kiss 🤌

Where the original Dead Rising captures the essence of the horror and mystery a zombie apocalypse in such a fantastic way, Dead Rising 2 captures the comedy and how the world capitalized on the outbreak in an also fantastic way, while preserving the premise and heart of the original, and the same can go for it's spin-off, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record as well. While I couldn't tell you which games are better than the other, I can definitely tell you this game's a must-play.

One of my childhood favorites. Amazing game-play. Only issue is that doesnt support controller for some reason. Still love every minute of this game!

One of the best zombie games ever made. A few bugs here and there, but overall for the nostalgia, its worth every cent. Ended up spending the last 3 days grinding straight through the story and just finished. It was worth every second for the 30th time.

Everything about this game is frustrating. Crafting combo weapons requires you to go out of your way or hold onto an item in hopes you find the other part. Some weapons you cant carry in your inventory and still take up an item slot. And when you get touched by a zombie with a carry weapon you drop it immediately and good luck picking it back up without dropping it a million times. Lots of combo weapons are straight up bad. The zombies throwing up on you towards the end of the game make you stop and cough, guaranteeing you get grabbed. Zombies will grab you suddenly even when you think you are clear. All the side missions are straight up bad. Its either an escort mission (boring), or it is a ridiculously hard boss fight. Boss fights stun lock you a bunch and make you feel hopeless. You always feel pressed for time and cant do a lot of the side quests. The open worldness is cool, and the combo weapons are a good idea in theory. It is satisfying to get a bunch of kills and I like how many item slots you can have. Overall not a horrible game, but very frustrating and not worth more than $10
