Frustratingly buggy. Goals will randomly not register as completed, making levels unbeatable unless you restart. Gets even worse in later levels, where bumps in the road randomly appear and need to be cleared again and again, and workers tend to get stuck on them forever, so every time one appears there's a chance you'll have to restart the whole level again. These aren't just Wine/SteamPlay bugs; I played the game on Windows 7, and if you look in the discussion forum and other reviews, you can see lots of other people are having the same issues. This is a pretty generic time management game, and while I'm probably going to go back and finish it to get all the stupid achievements, it's really not good enough to be worth the hassle.

Finished the game (49 levels) with all achievements in 8.5 hours. The graphics are nice, the story is ok, but due to "improved" level design you may end up stuck after doing half the level because you should have spared some resource (e.g. stone), which is NOT fun. No previous version had such irritation. Additionally, the game is buggy: - sometimes (frequently) it stops detecting fulfilled goals, so you have to go back to the map and replay the level - sometimes (not so frequently) it never finishes removing the mound (the hammering just goes on and on -> you are stuck -> replay the level) I stopped counting how many times I had to do this map -> replay workaround. Buy the previous version (New home) instead.

This was a good game like other Gnomes Garden games, except it has a bug that seem to have been going on since release and has not been fixed. Based on my experience, if you restart a level or even pause it, you will not be able to finish the game because the game won't recognize that you have completed a goal. The only work around, if you can call it that, is to completely close the game and relaunch it. I tried uninstalling the game and re-installing it, did not work at all. So buy at your own risk.

Lots of bugs : so far I had to replay about one level out of two because the game wouldn't update when the goal was completed. The game is fun, but I cannot recommend it until it is fixed.

It's fun, but very frustrating. Objectives will not register frequently. It's to a point where I have to restart the game every level. Also, I don't like the fact that sometimes you HAVE to do thing in a certain order or you have to restart the level because you run out of a resource and have no way to get more. I understand it's kind of a puzzle game, but jeez. EDIT: Just got a level where I couldn't complete a building because it said missing resources (donkey) when there isn't even a donkey on this level. Broke. So broke. This could be a fun game if they fixed all the bugs! Yeah, so lvl 22 is totally bugged for me, can't finish it. Such a shame.

I have enjoyed all the Gnomes Garden games. Lost King is slightly more difficult than the previous games, as there is actually right and wrong ways to do a level. One bug that needs to be fixed: if you're in the middle of a level and press "restart", when you restart the level it will not check off any of the tasks on your list, making it impossible to complete the level unless you exit and get back in to replay the level.

I particularly like this title in the game series but does have one major bug in it I found. Sometimes when you realize you've screwed up and have to restart the level, it locks up the level tasks, you can complete them but it never gives you credit for them meaning the level will never complete. Most of the time I exit the game and reenter it to get past the bug, sometimes, you can just restart the level a third time and get past the bug, but, not always. Mildly annoying at best.

Apart from the Restart button bug, I found no issues with the game. Just exit to map instead of restarting. The difficulty / complexity is somewhere between the earlier editions of this series and the more challenging Hercules series. I actually like that in this installment you need to think a little bit, either plan or adapt.

First 10 levels are great and everything works fine, but after that it is so common that you finish a level and when you go back to level select it is marked as not completed. Maybe is just for me, but is really annoying

I'm a huge fan of this type of games. Sadly I can't recommend this one at all, not even on sale. The bug that won't let you complete certain levels at all not only takes the fun away but also the entire concept of trying to get each level done at the fastest possible time.

Gnomes Garden Lost King is a time/resource management game simliar to the 12 Labours of Hercules. It's an addictingly fun game. The characters are different than in the previous Gnome games. You start with one worker and you can upgrade up to 3 in a hut. You can build various buildings that can be upgraded to level 3. There are other characters that can also have their homes upgraded to 3 per home including an adorable donkey. A good addition to the series, definitely pick it up if you are a fan of the genre.

Gnomes Garden Lost King is a tablet clicker/ripoff of the "12 Labors Of Hercules" clickers. Click on various resources/obstacles on each map until the level is done. Much like the Hercules games this is aping, There's no real gameplay or meaningful decision making, even though, much like the Hercules games, it's pretending to be a resource management game, it's not. The graphics aren't as good as 12 Labors either, so there's a second fail The shady developer behind this valueless shovelware has proven to be a persistent nuisance abusing Steam Direct... they've dumped over a hundred valueless mobile app tier asset flips onto Steam, many featuring plagiarised/stolen stock art and other unethical, shady behaviours. The developer, Creobit/8Floor, has copy + pasted this particular game, with minor reskins, an insane THIRTY TWO TIMES onto Steam... why cash in on one asset if you can cash in on multiple copies of the same game? Asset flipping begins at home! Here's a list of 8Floors's copy + pastes of this asset:

Argonauts Agency: Captive of Circe
Argonauts Agency: Chair of Hephaestus
Argonauts Agency: Glove of Midas
Argonauts Agency: Golden Fleece
Argonauts Agency: Missing Daughter
Argonauts Agency: Pandora's Box
Elven Rivers 2: New Horizons Collector's Edition
Elven Rivers: The Forgotten Lands Collector's Edition
Emergency Crew 2 Global Warming
Emergency Crew Perfect Getaway Collector's Edition
Emergency Crew Volcano Eruption
Garden City
Gnomes Garden
Gnomes Garden 2
Gnomes Garden 3: The thief of castles
Gnomes Garden Lifeseeds Collector's Edition
Gnomes Garden Lost King
Gnomes Garden New Home
Gnomes Garden: Christmas Story
Gnomes Garden: Halloween
Gnomes Garden: Return Of The Queen
Lost Artifacts
Lost Artifacts Mysterious Book Collector's Edition
Lost Artifacts: Golden Island
Lost Artifacts: Soulstone
Lost Artifacts: Time Machine
New Lands
New Lands 2 Collector's Edition
New Lands Paradise Island Collector's Edition
Royal Roads
Royal Roads 2 The Magic Box
Royal Roads 3 Portal
These are all reskins of exactly the same game! What value is there in this spam/pollution glutting the Steam store for gamers? This valueless copy + paste garbage is taking up marketing space for genuine indie developers who are doing the right thing. It's harmful to the industry and to gamers. The ridiculous price of the game ($5 USD) exceeds that of 12 Labors of Hercules, worse gameplay, worse graphics. I didn't recommend 12 Labors because that's a lousy tablet game on PC, and this is worse... so no recommendation from me.
Full of bugs !!!
I wish I could give this a neutral rating. A few levels needed to be redone multiple times because the objectives would not always register. This problem seemed to be random. Going out to the map menu to choose the level instead of using the level restart option seemed to work around this problem. Other than that I enjoyed the game.

Fun little puzzle game, I could have played this so much more longer and enjoyed how every so often it challenged me to rethink my strategy, great work!

Love these games. Took a bit to get used to this graphic style but once I did, I was able to three star easily enough. Especially with the critter boosts.

My favorite Gnomes Garden so far. It's much more polished than the first Gnomes Garden. I have not ran into any glitches that other reviews are referring to after completing 8 levels so maybe they're fixed? I will update this review very soon as I am loving the game and plan to complete level after level. EDIT: After completing 19 levels(level 19 is INSANE), I have not encountered a single glitch or bug that other people are talking about. I've always made sure to go back to the main menu if I ever restart a level(10 second process) and that has kept the game glitch/bug free. I STILL recommend it to not only Gnomes Garden fans but Time Management game fans alike. They really did a good job with this one. Make sure to pick it up for fifty cents on sale. Not saying it's not worth full price but why pay full price when it constantly hits fifty cents, know what I mean. I value it at probably three to four dollars tbh.

levels are bugged. you finish repairing or building a building on several levels and they do not register as completed. sometimes changing from normal mode to easy mode fixes it. kinda sux to repeat a level u already beat.

Buggy game. Levels will randomly stop giving you credit for completing goals, meaning the level is unwinnable. The only solution I've found so far to fix it is closing and reopening the game.

Good game in the Gnomes Garden series. Artwork is a little different to the other games, which made it a little harder for me to concentrate on what I needed to achieve. I did encounter a glitch where the level goals weren't getting marked off, but this is solved by exiting to the map and re-entering the level. This game also has a special hidden "magical creature" on each map, so you can look for it while you wait for tasks to be done. But there's no achievement for finding all of them, and no in game bonus for them - they are just for fun.

Nice little game that could have been a lot of fun, if it weren't for the bugs that won't let you complete certain levels, leading to you having to restart them over and over again to figure out a way to work around the bugs. It's a shame, but I really can't recommend a buggy game.

Buy it on sale if you have the earlier games and want to complete your collection, but otherwise steer clear - the updated artwork makes it harder to see what to do and where to go, and it is incredibly buggy so you'll end up restarting the game to replay levels many times because goals haven't been checked off as complete. On the positive side, the donkeys are cute.

Bugged, random levels won't check goals as complete. For me, level 19 was the one that wouldn't work, no matter what I tried, but if you look at Discussions you'll see it's random and people have the same issue with other levels.

This is SO disappointing. Compared to the other great games in the serie, this one has horrific animations. The objects are so tiny and the graphics look like the game is stiill on the drawing board. Don't buy it

Basic time management. Some levels have sufficiently restricted resources that if you do things in the wrong order or upgrade the wrong hut too far, you can make yourself unable to complete the level. I wish it didn't do that, but keep an eye out.

I really like the Gnomes Garden games, but this was just didn't do much for me. The fact you could end up glitched in a level and unable to finish it really killed it for me. You can work around it by finding one of the hidden objects [frog, bird, mushroom] which add slight time. If you can click on it, then the level will work. If you can't click on it, then it's glitched and the requirements won't be met even as you do them. So you have to restart. Beyond that, there's some really annoying mechanics in this one. These annoying little bush enemy things that show up later in the game who just keep showing up and blocking pathing. This wouldn't be as annoying if it allowed you to key up moves ~after~ your actions to set things up ahead of time. Like the Alicia Quatermain series does which is the same genre. But it won't let you do that... They also have some levels where the farms need to be watered to produce food. I hate this. You shouldn't have the same type of building work two different ways. It makes quickly getting into a map more annoying than it should be, and it just isn't very fun to do it that way either. And overall 3-starring every level is super easy so it's kind of annoying. Only like 2 were somewhat challenging. While I got a good amount of time out of it, I was just kind of dreading playing this every time I started it up because of the glitch. If not for that, I'd at least recommend it for cheap as it's not terrible [beyond the glitch]. It's just not as good as other games in this series or competing series in the genre. If you've run through all of them and don't mind putting up with the glitch then I guess it's fine. Especially for less than a dollar on sale. I would have liked the addition of the hidden objects, I liked that in Alicia Quatermain but those are for puzzles/collectables so there's more reason to find them there. You don't really need the extra time they award in this game since it's already easy. It's also just generally odd that there are 49 levels for some reason and not 50. I also didn't really care for the artwork in this one that much. Though it is nice it's at a higher resolution and actually a widescreen puzzle compared to the earlier ones.

Sadly this is not very well thought out. Another reviewer's negative post states all the problems accuratley. I like collecting time management games so this is the only benefit I have for this one.

eJaw made an OK job doing this sequel, it is more refreshing than the old ones. Sure the completion script is faulty but it only fails if you use the restart button so it's not a big deal. Plus the change of developer gives more consistency in the difficulty ladder (duo to some actual game testing), and a face lift, though it leaves me wondering why they had to follow the gnomes theme and not try what eJaw could have brought to the table. Too bad these companies never want to release even the slightest of updates to fix such obvious little bugs like the restart/completions issue. Well worth the 49 cents!

It follows the same theme as it's predecessors, but with much cleaner looking art. Pros: Updated art and animations. I find it also runs smoother overall. A few general changes. Example: Instead of good goblins, you get a mule. Cons: They still don't highlight the starting camp at the beginning of a level. You still can't queue past current barriers even with the right materials. Each level has a hidden collectible, but there's no way to know which ones you've found after the fact. (This is a new feature as far as I can tell. Similar to the Hercules and Alicia games, but with no jigsaw at the end of an act) Some of the levels look very similar. Despite the flaws. I do like it. And this could be a pro or con depending on your preferences. But 3 starring isn't as difficult as the previous games. It's mildly buggy, sometimes things don't get marked complete, which is annoying, but I just start the level over and it works just fine. Though, the devs should really consider looking into this.

I like the game. Very similar to the 12 Labours games. There are glitches. The game doesn't always recognize that you completed the tasks so you have to start the level over. I've also found that after about 3 levels the game will start doing this. This started around level 12. It doesn't make me want to quit playing...but it is very annoying. Also, you can do things in a wrong order and be completely done, unable to progress and forced to start the level over. Got it super cheap ($0.49) so... can't complain much.
