First of all, I recieved this game to test it together with the audience on my stream.
This game is in a very early state of developement, thats why there are crashes every now and then and quite a few bugs, but since it is far from being finished this is not actually a problem.
The game itself is quite fun to play and shows potential of becoming a good multiplayer game to kill time in.
The ragdolls look good, and the maps are quite detailled. Not too big, but good for a bunch of players. There are a lot of physic objects that you can knock over and kick around. My wish would be that almost every thing in the game could be tossed and used as a weapon. As far as I understand it, that's actually the plan. Moving around the maps is a lot of fun, if you get into the flow...
Unfortunatly the servers are pretty empty, but I hope that will change soon.
I had a little chat with the devs on stream and I like where the want to go with this, even if it is still a long way. The communication between them and the players is excellent, and they seem to have an "open ear" for what we have to say, which is a rarety!
Who would I recommend this game?
I recommend this to players that want to try something new, something different.
Players that want to be part of the developement process of a game and want to support a community focused dev team.
I don't recommend it, if you want a perfectly balanced, finished and polished game.
Those days will, hopefully, come, but it's far from being finished yet.
The best thing to do right now is to get it while it is still at the current price point and watch Knockout Party grow into a quirky but fun little multiplayer-party-game!
I will come back to this review every now and then and change a few things while the game changes...
Hope to see you in the game!
