!! THIS IS FOR THIS PC PORT ONLY !!
I love this game a lot and its one of my favorite Suda51 games HOWEVER, this pc port is abysmally bad. There is a vast number of issues with this port, so many that I think they just copy and pasted the console version of this game onto a pc build with little to no changes and called it a day.
THE GAME DOES'NT WORK AFTER A POINT
I'm not exaggerating when I say that the game in it's default state will not work if you have a good computer. If you have a multi-core CPU, after the 3rd or so missions final boss the game will crash upon the cutscene playing and there's no way around this without going into the games files and editing the code to allow it to use your computers power. I don't even know how something like this is even possible. Which is why I felt this port is a very lazy copy and paste. If you want the file path to fix this yourself I'll leave it here. -Right click it in your library and click "browse local files" -From there follow this path. KidGame\Config\KidEngine.ini -KidEngine should open a note pad and from there look for "[XAudio2.XAudio2Device]" -You should see some values under that and you need to edit them like this -> "MaxChannels=64 CommonAudioPoolSize=320 MinCompressedDurationGame=0.3 MinCompressedDurationEditor=500 LowPassFilterResonance=0.9 WorkAroundXDKRegression=FALSE"
Frame rate issues
I don't know why it's not standard for pc games to come with frame rate adjustment options, especially if your game is locked to 30 fps BY DEFAULT. For some this isn't the biggest deal in the world but at least for this game it makes a world of difference visually and gameplay wise with how much can be happening on screen. Because of this, the only way to adjust your frame rate is opening the games files on your computer and editing a notepad file to adjust the minimum and maximum frame cap. I should not have to write lines of code for the game just to play it in its vanilla state. When it's this easy to tweak I can't see how the team porting this didn't just make this an option in the settings. I guess they wanted us to have some fun homework to do for the game you paid for. You, yes you, can fix this by going to this path. KidGame\Config\KidEngine.ini -Find the line "MaxSmoothedFrameRate" and replace the value to whatever frames your heart desires, also upi can tweak the minimum frame rate here.
HOWEVER
Because you are editing the frame rate, some things within the game will behave differently. Namely Mika's revive QTE. It's almost impossible if you don't edit it after changing your frame rate. Follow this path to fix that after changing your fps. KidGame\Config\DefaultGame.ini -Look for "mRevive_MassageRecoveryRate" and from here depending on your frame rate you'll need to change it to different values. --60fps ---Change "mRevive_MassageRecoveryRate" to 2.6 ---Change "mRevive_MassageHealtDownRate" to 0.98 ---Change "mRevive_MassageDownPowerMax" to 10.0 --120fps ---Change "mRevive_MassageRecoveryRate" to 5.2 ---Change "mRevive_MassageHealtDownRate" to 0.96 ---Change "mRevive_MassageDownPowerMax" to 20.0 --144fps ---Change "mRevive_MassageRecoveryRate" to 6.24 ---Change "mRevive_MassageHealtDownRate" to 0.94 ---Change "mRevive_MassageDownPowerMax" to 24.0 To close, I must repeat, I do love this game a lot. This port is just unacceptable the longer I think about it. After you make these tweaks the game is almost fully enjoyable from there. It will still crash from time to time for no reason. For me it was after my dates with Koharu, after finishing the date it would crash multiple times upon the cutscene. I don't know any way to avoid that other than just doing it over agin until it didn't crash. Still, if you can bear that and edit the game before sinking your teeth into it, it's a damn good time. This game is definitely a contender for the best art style in a video game. Sadly, it doesn't work very well on PC, which is a theme that is annoyingly recurrent in a lot of games I've ended up liking. If you can get it to work and be stable, it's great to look at and fun to play, but I can not recommend it in good faith knowing it's a shitty port of a more-or-less confusing mess of a story with gameplay you can probably find elsewhere

A SUDA51 masterpiece from the XBox360/PS3 era. If you like No More Heroes franchise you'll feel right at home in this alternative to the once Nintendo exclusive Best Sellers. Now that NMH 1,2,and 3 are available on PC you may think you don't need this game but I'm warning you that you will regret that decision the day you p[lay this game. It's so good and this version is the best one to experience the complete game. It's a very SUDA51 type game. 5/5 Fun Experience 4/5 with the few bugs it has on all platforms. EDIT* As for performance I have personally ran this on an Intel Core i5-2400 with a GeForce GT 1030 (i.e. a potato), and also on a Intel Core i7-14700K with a GeFroece RTX 4080 and have had zero issues that aren't present in the console releases on either one.

needs a lot of crash fixing to be playable, but as a SUDA51 game I can overlook that, the wacky style and storytelling is enough for me to enjoy it

it's a fine little action game. only thing I didn't like was the cringe stare at women with xray glasses segments, but also you don't have to do any of those. the plot in this game is the dumbest thing ever, but in a good way. get ready to be quick with your screenshot key during cutscenes, lot of silly lines going on left and right. might be one of the goofier suda games I've played. main story without doing any side stuff took me like 5 hours. oh, had a consistent crash in the beginning at level 2's first mid level cutscene, but I just looked up on the steam forum that you had to change some numbers in an ini file and that fixed it for the rest of the game. oopsie daisy, I've dealt with worse.

This pc port is so broken, some cut-scenes crash the game, some don't, 30 fps cap that all the solutions for don't work, and I can't get passed the second mission due to not being able to skip a cut-scene before it crashes the game. Tried every fix I could find. Really good game, to bad I CAN'T ACTUALLY PLAY IT. ( just use a emulator and download a rom for free)

Dog shit PC port Play the 360 version on modern Xbox consoles if you have that option If you don’t get used to locked 30fps & display resolution only going up too 1920x1080 (& the game frequently crushing in my 7 hours of play time I end up fighting 4 different bosses multiple times because the will always crash on the final cutscene of the boss) The game it self is a pretty solid hack n slash game by (the goat) Suda51 Me personally this probably the most mixed I have been on a Suda title since NMH2 Gameplay feels like a downgrade compared to previous titles but still pretty fun but story however I’m very mixed on it has a interesting premise going but instead they spend most of the time Being very cryptic (not in a good way) & haha funny fourth wall break I would only recommend someone too play this if it’s on sale for 90% & already is a Fan Suda 51 previous work with 7 hours too kill
