All of the classes are locked, except fighter, and have to be unlocked during play. That annoys me, and was the first indication I got that I probably wouldnt like this game, but from there it got worse.
The map is static, rather than randomly generated, which means that this game has no business calling itself a rogue-like. The combat is extremely repetitive, and gets boring after the first hour. Your weapons and equipment degrade shockingly fast (as in, some of these items will break after two fights; fast). You will spend most of your money maintaining your gear if you aren't lucky enough to get the right drops regularly.
The game is riddled with spelling and grammar errors... "You remember your uncle advice", "Hail Stranger, I mean you no arm", "The enemy did not saw you, yet". There are numerous little annoyances with the user-interface, like the way that you have to take your equipment off in order to repair it, or how the inventory is bound to 'tab' instead of 'I' (which is bound to skills, instead). There is no proper fullscreen support, without visual tracing. Many skills are colored so similarly when locked (grey-scale) and unlocked (color) that I couldn't tell for sure which skills I had purchased by level 15, without clicking on them.
Also, even though all the reviews I read for this said "ZOMG, TEH GAYM ARE SO HARDS!" I strolled through the first two runes to level 15 without having to restart, on normal difficult, on my first run. When you die you solve arithmetic problems to come back from the dead, so if you've completed at least second grade, you should have infinite lives at your disposal.

This is a surprisingly fun game for people who like RPGs, roguelike, and tactical games. The combat is solid for a game of this type. I really enjoyed exploring and seeing different events, much in the way you come across interesting events when doing escort missions in Fallout 1. I'm an FTL junkie and this game satisfied that urge as well.
Edit: Issue resolved, thank you!
I'm now over the 40 hour mark and playing the last class, the wizard, and having a lot of fun with it. The classes are different enough that it's interesting to play through again and see the new abilities.
I can't wait to see what happens next after you
keep the runes!
I really enjoyed this game overall and love that it seems to be updated pretty often.

The LINUX version oesn't work. It only displays a grey screen with a custom mouse cursor. Worked at one point, then some change to the unity game engine version caused problems. There was no fix years, which is not a good reflection on the developer.
That said, I tried it again with Steam's Proton compatibility software, and yet it was entirely disappointing, like something from the indie gala website.

What an awesome game! I hope there is a sequel or some clones of this as it was fun to play. I like Tactical RPGs and I know this is also a Roguelike I enjoyed it for what it is. I am not sure why people complain about it being too hard and then complain about the map being static. If it is too hard with a static map you guys would not get further if it was randomly generated. Really if you are coming into this thinking it is an action type Roguelike you are wrong. I mean all you have to do is look at the pictures of hex-grid to know what it is like. If you don't like Turn-Based Strategy or Tactical RPGs you probably won't like this. This game's first tag is RPG, it's second is strategy so all you fools whining about how hard it is go back to being a FPS-drone this isn't your game.
I completed the game in 15 hours as a warrior at level 62. I had a few deaths so I restarted a few times but after I got the idea down then it became easy. I maxed my skills and abilities at about level 49. Do not go to the desert before that! otherwise you are going to be mauled by scorpions. When I did go I brought extra armor and had half my pack full of potions I found and I ran around with two swords most of the game. The spears are nice to throw and to use as a backup weapon but they get damaged throwing as well. If you upgrade your gear too fast it becomes expensive to repair it. Hello people budget your gold. I kept the Santa hat until like level 50 as it is so durable not sure why you would want to get rid of it. I didn't use a shield until higher levels. When I did finish the game I was friendly with all three empires. That made it easy to buy the best gear from each. I steered clear of the first rune until I was friendly with the Free States so that a -15 hit to our relationship didn't have them chasing me to the ends of their borders. So some of the skills that make this easy is the cleave type skill, the healing 5 points each travel. The points you want first is the skill that makes your weapon last twice as long I picked that first. Oh wow for you guys saying things break too fast twice as long now! Get the + 50 health as soon as you can and the +3 to damage. If you aren't buying a shield no point getting that skill until later. if you bother to read the skills and make a sensible plan you will really do well. Wear any armor you find and sell it before it breaks. You should be keeping an eye on those things. those +1 armors and shields usually don't last long so wear them for a fight and check during the fight. I did lose a couple items when I wasn't watching close enough. Just keep doing quests in the free states until you get stronger as this is the easiest area in the game. When you do complete the game you have three choices how to end it. I picked one and then afterwards I clicked continue game and it brought me back to level 38 so I will complete it again to choose a different ending. Whenever given the chance use the inn instead of gulping your healing potions as that is your insurance policy and an expensive way to heal yourself. I hope this might be helpful to any of you reading it.

This game need a lot of work, but it is a promising game, at the momment the best any one can do is try to head into town without dying a horrible death on your very first step. The death mini game is pretty pointless as i see no way to even guess the right answer to the riddle in time. Many events await you, and most of them will be negative ones but the combat is nice, and it does seem like they plan to make the game more balanced. The story is pretty weak from what i saw as i spawned, you are just thrown into it, go and get the 12 runes blablabla and that is all the information you get as you set out to find the runes. The skills in this game is also nothing special, only a couple of them seems to be good to have.I would not recommend this game but once they have patched the game with their balance fixes it will atleast become more playable for those interested in playing.

I really liked the game, still do not understand how not to notice it among others.
Pros:
+ A huge world with many cities and random locations
+ Turn-based battle system
5 different classes.
+ Ability to assemble your team
+ Reputation system
+ Not linearity, you can do what you want, and then go on the plot
+ Huge number of random events
+ With every new game the world changes
Disadvantages:
-From a completely free game this game is separated by a map that opens on the plot.
I definitely recommend this game

Tactical turned based game of simply moving around the map, triggering random/repeating encounters, and
ultimately towards the various Rune location and clearing it,
be it eliminating foes or simply there to drop three weapons.
A Grind for Experience and loot to level one's class magic and inept skills.
What used to be locked classes except fighter, are now revealed to all from start.
During my first playthrough with Hard mode,
the Archer class seemingly is the easiest of the all classes with it extensive range and escape skill.
One NPC may be recruited from the town tavern,
but controls of using F1 or leftclicking on team NPC
during encounters is clunky and so very often pose a headache.
Spend most time wandering from tree to tree hoping an apple pops up in the beginning is weary.
Once clearing all rune locations and delivering to a location near the starting point,
the game ends.
Unexpectedly,
the game itself is rather short for each playthrough if one knows how to play smartly.
Considerably dull after seeing each encounters repeating while grinding.
Tedious of repeating each classes just to clear some achievements,
and 1000 travels....
Looking at all the reviews, majority are 'great reviews' with mere minutes to hours.
Playable,
But isn't really that great nor worth the time.
A Neutral Recommendation.

It's a one of a kind game. I was looking for this type of game for a long time. Reading all the comments I thought the game was unfinished or something. The gameplay can be improved yes, but has great potencial to be perfected. This game is definitely not for noobs but if you are a roguelike/turnbased rookie you can start playing in easy mode. The story and events make the experience very addictive for roguelike lovers. Go ahead and support this amazing indie game you won't regret it! 5 stars

This game is very similar to FTL in that you move around on the map and get different encounters. The battle system however is turn-based, and this is also fantasy as opposed to sci-fi.
Pros:
- several different unique and in-depth classes
- interesting battles and scenarios
- good inventory and reputation system
- requires strategy and planning (in a good way)
Cons:
- battles can get repetitive
- early game is extremely hard, especially one unavoidable encounter
- graphics aren't exactly amazing
- unlike FTL, map is the same every time

I'm enjoying this game. It's a good mix of strategy, rpg and rogue-like. The puzzle thing to rez is pretty neat and different. Also, I like the setting of different factions and rep you can gain depending on your choices.
I'm playing on normal and it's not too hard so far (I have 6 runes I believe, died once because dropped weapons at the altar and lost them, didn't have a spare lol). I haven't tried the archer or wizard class yet (just unlocked archer).
The only downside so far is random spelling mistakes but they aren't a big deal breaker for me. I can understand the message being delivered.

The game is hard in the beginning, but gets easier as you go. It is definitely a rogue game. as you can die at any time. I like the art and the gameplay, and with time, I think it will be a well polished game. The developers seem involved in releasing new patches to address problems.
If you like short bursts of gameplay in a rogue style, you'll like this one. Don't expect the depth of an RPG done by a major developer. Expect the Unexpected.

So this game falls entirely inline with the genre I love. It's difficult at the start, once you get some levels the game definitely gets easier but you can still definitely mess up and die. Overall I like the general direction of the game, the death system is an awesome way to keep going after a mistake (as long as you can do some quick mental math ;) ).
The game doesn't appear to have much replay value IMO and the ending was LOLWTFBAD, but overall I don't feel ripped off. Fun little 10-12 hour game.

I've had my eye on this game for a bit on my wishlist. It is a very deep fun game for $0.99 cents on sale and it is the best 99 cents I've ever spent for the amount of content in this game.
It reminds me of the olden days of Zelda added with good Rpg elements & strategy and being able to play 5 different classes offers a fun experience. So far I have found at least in the early game the Warrior to be challenging and hard on the hardest difficulty level.
It has many random events as your traveling along to make the game interesting along with random things you can find as your exploring.
This is a solid Rogue Rpg Game/Strategy game and worth getting even at the full cost, but at 99 cents it is a bargin.
I do plan on playing this game for some time. I hope they make some future games similar to this one and I saw their other fantasy game was from the same company I'll have to pick that up as well later.

I was so surprised. This would be a poor investment for an Early Access game. No tutorial, which is fine if there were at least tool tips. Gameplay is bland, unbalanced, and poorly explained (How in the world does one charge?). Poor dialogue, lots of errors, etc. The issues compound, wait for .99 sale in a few years.

The game was fun for the first hour then it get gringing and boring really fast. it would be nice if the dev add more events and make the game more complex then just click and hit.
In conclusion I recommend this game for kids under 8.

This is almost good, but I feel the rebirth / new life mechanic is missing. Your character really can die at any time, and if you've invested any amount of time into him, it really is a letdown to have to start over again with nothing gained. A lot of roguelikes have new skills learned or powers unlocked after a nice playthrough so that you can feel some kind of reward for your wonderful effort on your now dead character. This game needs something like that to enhance replay value. I know you can unlock one new class for each playthrough if you had gotten far enough in the game, but it doesn't make death very satisfying.

7/10 Turn-based RPG in fantasy setting.
TLDR: An interesting though a bit grindy TBS/RPG. Randomly generated combat maps and encounters will keep you busy for a while. There are 5 classes that play differently and warrant several replays. Though controls are uncomfortable and info/hints/highlights are lacking because the game was designed with mobile in mind. Also can't save different campaigns or reload.
Good:
- combat is generally interesting. Make sure to unlock abilities "good left eye" and "good right eye" in the bottom-right corner of the list of abilities to properly see stats of enemies. Btw not sure why those abilities are even there. The game should have just shown enemy stats by default!
- a few dozen random encounters when you travel, and each time randomly generated maps
- music is fantasy-themed and pleasant
- you can equip armor of an enemy faction to be able to enter their city and take jobs, sell stuff and rest. It's a witty "cheat" if you don't want to grind their rep
- 5 RPG "classes" (with 5 abilities/spells and 8 upgrades each) may warrant several replays. They play very differently as you level them up. Druid class can even modify terrain(!)
So-so:
- no animations. Gfx are are very simple and somewhat poorly drawn. That's not much of a problem though
- sound effects are somewhat unpleasant but functional, dying screams are quite annoying (especially when you burn an enemy with a fireball)
- the game has essentially no story to it. You just walk between settlements, sell loot, repair, rest to heal, do endlessly repeatable and randomly generated "jobs" to grind exp, and have to win a dozen special fights in certain locations to collect the runes. That's it. There is not much feeling of progress. Instead, it feels like a grindy mobile game. Maybe this game needed a proper quest system to motivate the player to explore. Jobs instead just bind you to the same small area
Bad:
- can't save different campaigns! So e.g. if you start playing as a mage and then want to check out an archer your mage campaign will be lost completely. This is ridiculous
- UI and control annoyances which simply come from the fact that it's a mobile port:
- no tooltips for weapons equipped in quick slots (1-3)
- can't see how much exp is needed to get a level (only a bar, not the number). It seems that assisting NPCs in fights doesn't give any xp, and you only get exp for killing blows. Also no exp when a hired assistant does the kill!
- controlling a hired assistant is clumsy. You have to manually select the assistant at the beginning of each turn, give them an order, then you can give an order for yourself. However, you can't really see the currently selected character! I guess they added this "assistant" feature later on. Instead, it should have been some proper party control interface with an "End Turn" button, or an initiative-based turns system. As it is now, the controls for the assistant are painful and this demotivates from using the feature altogether. You can toggle "AI mode" for them at least
- can't move mouse over enemies to see who they are. E.g. in one fight I had some guys fighting off barbarians. It was unclear who is who
- can't see range of enemy archers. This should have been a highlight when you mouse over them

I like this game quite much, before I bought and played it for the first time I read the reviews and people were saying it was too hard and not possible to get anywhere with it but I found out that it can be hard but it is possible to win so to say. In my opinion, easy games get to be boring too fast so this is a game that keeps me entertained ;)

Comment: Please make it so that theres a flee option (for example deducting a chunk of gold if you flee) and make the combat a little more challenging/complex. (Even though I died 5 times on easy difficulty)

I don't review a ton of games but this one deserves it.
Game is repetitive and boring. Combat is meh, AI (when you get a hired hand) is bad. I thought it had some potential but in the end it was 2 hours of my life I couldn't get back.

I love this game, it uses a similar formula to FTL regarding the world map, random events and resource management, but the combat and exploration follows the Rogue style.
It also features an alignment system that helps spicing up the choices.

I honestly cannot believe how bad the writing and grammar is in this game. On top of that, I can't believe no reviewer mentioned this. This is not at the level of "oh, the story's boring and childish", it's at the level of "I think a foreigner wrote the (terrible) storyline and translated it into English via Google or Babblefish".
Here is the FIRST text box of the entire game, I will let you judge the writing and grammar (this is verbatim, all grammar mistakes are the game developer's own):
"You were just a farmer, doing the ordinary daily routine when suddenly were contacted by the Gods. The 12 runes of power were stolen and lost throughout Lorhaven. The Gods are on brink of war and They crave influence over the mortals. They chose you! A humble farmer with the a heart of gold, a courage of a lion and a pure moral conduct.
You are about to embark on an adventure of a lifetime, it was given to you a difficult task to collect the 12 runes, in hopes of restoring faith and order again! A mere mortal touched by the Gods."
TLDR: this RPG's writing and grammar is at the 2nd grade level. I requested a full refund of the game within 10 minutes of playing. Don't waste time with this trash, not even worth $1 (I paid $10 for this).

The Developers have effectively abandoned this Title. It looked cute. It is cute. But theres nothing new coming. Last time anyone commented about new content was a year ago.
3-19-18
LOL Banned from commentary because I keep pointing out that every update is Bull. Little tiny insignificant changes, while still not adding any actual game content. This developer has no honor, and no integrity. The game is not and never will be complete.
4-10-19
Every Update to Date is Bugs and Features. NO NEW CONTENT. Friggin ShovelWare.

Purchased this game after enjoying "Dungeons of Hell' (and then trying the demo) by the same developer.
Found myself a bit lost at first but after a few perfunctionary deaths, I quickly settled into the rhythm of the game and have enjoyed the experience.
Only minor complaint is that I would like the map overview to be a little more transperent so I can quickly decide if i want to bypass (if that is an option) that map. The precise enemy deployments and terrain factors ca be hard to ascertain.
