This program has made a lasting impression on me because of the user interface : simple but very nice and ergonomic. The chess variant proposed is quite fascinating and the AI is as much powerful as you wish. A very nice thing is that you can play Regular Chess and now Chess 960 with this program. Bravo to the developer for patching this game 5 years after its release !

An excellent game for chess variant enthusiasts. Game play: This game sports multiple game rules and a plethora of new fairy pieces while still keeping the core of the game intact. The tutorial and the AI make learning the new rules easy and the game offers a lot of potential for improving your strategic thinking. The AI can be adjusted from easy to challenging and either side can be handicapped material. The new scenario selector offers additional opportunities for new and exciting situations to explore. There is also a list that lets you review the games you have played which is another major plus. User Interface: Unlike other chess variant programs this one includes a very simple and user friendly layout. The only time I had difficulty was in the scenario selector but it quickly became apparent that scenarios were selected by clicking on any of the 64 squares of the board. Players can select to have pieces shown in either 3d or 2d. Single player and Multiplayer: The single player aspect is the biggest draw as the game comes with a functional and competent AI that you don't usually see in variant games like this. The multiplayer aspect is also worth mentioning although the current player base is small. Music: The music is soothing and includes many classical scores suitable for helping the player calmly consider their moves. Both the Music and Sound FX of the game can be adjusted from the options menu. Support: The game creator is very responsive to bug reports and works quickly to fix them. Numerous threads in the discussion section have been created to look for feedback and proactively answer questions about the game. Overall this is an excellent game for people interested in expanding their horizons beyond normal chess. The game also offers an option to play normal chess but if that is your main concern there are numerous other programs that more directly focus on that specifically. The price of the game is fair for what it offers especially compared to similar games in this category. The only real drawback/flaw of this game is that chess variants are not very popular and as a result even very good games like this can suffer from a lack of interest. Hopefully this does not discourage the game creator though and I look forward to seeing further works from them.

The music choice for this chess game is really good, and the chess is... well, chess. and what could be better?

Not worth it even on sale. Buggy mess and a waste of time.
