Game is good. Entertaining platformer with a quite creative gimmick. The world feels well populated and exploration is rewarded but you can also casually walk around and get enough coins to progress. Jokes are good, I especially like how the banana village houses have banana-shaped doors. artstyle is simple but pretty and well executed. However, the game has some quite frankly newbie mistakes that could very well not exist. A map would be welcome (even if as a collectable you have to buy). Wall jumps just don't feel nice. It's not impossible to get used to, but it might fail you more than once. Losing keys also don't really add difficulty, it's just unpleasant to repeat a task you've already succeeded because you missed a jump. That last one however, is fine, just a nitpick. Overall, it's worth the price, but don't expect a masterpiece, just a fun little experience. If you are bored, this game will keep you entertained for some hours. Better than most indie platformers you'll find.

Bananaguy is a cute 2D platformer seasoned with good humor, goofy characters, pleasant music, and colorful worlds. The game can be finished in a few hours or less but 100% completion will require you to spend some time exploring a bit. Finally unlocking the "Find all powercoins in the game!" achievement was very satisfying for me knowing that I'd combed through every corner of this game to find them all. I highly doubt I will ever finish the game in under 20 minutes but I'm more or less at peace with that.

2/3rds to 3/4ths of the game is already free on Itch.io, the game doesn't have a volume slider, and the wall jumping in this game is annoying, which makes a specific endgame room extremely unfun to play. The art is pretty and world 2 is fun. Worlds 1 and 3 are okay but pretty short other than some missions that are made to take a bit of time doing the same tedious thing multiple times.

This was a nice little mini-collectathon. Simple moveset, but some neat gimmicks here or there. Doesn't overstay its welcome.

A nice chill collection platformer. Collect coins to unlock progress through doing a variety of challenges you find in the world, with some hints available on the uncollected coins through the coin list menu. You never need to collect all coins in an area to progress, and can always backtrack to revisit previous areas if you decide to leave and come back later. Death's are quickly reset, placing you at a point near where you died without a screen wipe, allowing you to get right back into the game without wasted time or frustration. The game has fairly tight controls with a fun double jump mechanic that let's you launch yourself forward or backwards for some fun platforming but sacrifice the ability to wall cling until you land or pick up a new peel. Wall jumping is done by holding towards the wall you're on up until you press jump and then pressing towards the new wall's direction up until you press jump again - it may take some getting used to but works well. The lack of a map bothered me at first, but once I understood enough about how the game was set up and knew I wouldn't be locked out of anything it left me to have more fun exploring and discovering, figuring out where to go, how to get there, and what might lead to a challenge and a coin. The coconut kicking challenge can be frustrating, so it's unfortunate that it's one of the first challenges you encounter. If it bothers you like it did me, know that there's nothing else in the game like it, and it can be skipped outright if it's just not working for you.
You only need 6 coins to fix the lift and progress to the next area.
I eventually managed both the 20 and 50 (which are really 10 and 25 since the other kicker's kicks count towards the count too) with about 10 - 15 minutes worth of tries. If you're going for the pig racing achievement, know that the timing is tight. The coin itself can be gotten without worrying about the time limit, so it doesn't lock your progress if you just want to get the coin, but if you're going for the 38 second achievement know that you need to have a near flawless run. I hit it with a 37.34 time and didn't feel like I messed up much at all. Oh, and for the kid-kicker achievement, don't worry about the kid in the first house that's walled off in the top-right corner. There is no way to get to them as far as I know and never reached them. I got the achievement but
didn't get it until the post-game refresh of the starting area where one more kid is placed for you to find.
A really delightful little platformer/collectathon. Feels a little like Mario Odyssey with the way it heaps rewards on you for doing just about anything. And just like Mario Odyssey when you continue your game after finishing the main quest the world is repopulated by new NPC's from all the the lands you've visited, having their own adventures. It's all very adorable, even with all the swearing. If I have any complaints, it's that the wall jump feels a little finicky. You have to wait a beat for the "sticking to wall" animation to play to jump off of it. Also, I found a bug where you'll get stuck if you open the Coin menu while playing the coconut kicking video game and have to close the game to escape.
