Early access but as it stands now, played the first map a couple times with a friend and to sum it up is more frustrating than it is scary.
Bugs: (keep in mind early access but I though to include them anyways).
- Getting heath drained for seemingly no reason.
- Sound cues of the two enemies of the game chasing/injuring you are played for both players regardless of who is actually getting chased.
- when the killer is alerted to a sound and reaches the POI sometimes instead of walking away when he has checked it, he walks in place and doesn't leave until he is out of range of both players or enters chase (big problem for if the POI blocks your escape).
- Run out of flashlight juice? No need putting a new battery in it works perfectly fine.
- Getting a message that 'you don't have the key to this door' on every door regardless if you have the key or not (if you have the key the door will open if you spam it).
- Losing chase is as easy as crouching in the broken graves patches through out the map (can trigger the walking in place glitch too).
Pros:
- Can serve some scares to those who are new to horror
- Potential to be a fun little horror game (Early access)
Cons:
- AI is generic and linear.
- Bigger maps than needed.
- When one player dies it's game over.
- Two enemies in the game (One is a bad enemy).
-Main Killer (Okay but bland).
-Sitting doll model from Emily wants to play (Chases you if you get in range of where they spawn where you can't out run it and have to eventually take a hit).
- Some mechanics have only one or no use to them.
- Once you figure out the game gets really draggy and boring (open door, do simple puzzle, get key, open door, Etc.) (Killer can only chase one player or respond to noises in his area at a time, meaning one player does boring puzzles while the other does boring puzzles with the killer slowing them down).
- Scares (for what they are) lose their charm after one or two times.
- 'Scares' form the little girl voice is just a voice and serves no danger or cue for anything and can be ignored.
This isn't to rip on the creators but to hopefully help it in the right direction as I love indie horror especially multiplayer ones and I think this can definitely a game that I would enjoy playing/streaming. Not planing on refunding to support the creators, unless they don't give the game the attention it deserves.
Tl;dr: As it stands now (early access), not worth it even for a 'bad horror game', but check back when it is done for it has potential.
